Beautiful. Large Crock Style Cookie Jar with hand painted pink and red flowers. I believe they are geraniums and have pretty green leaves and vines. The ball shaped crock style has 2 double blue rings and is a pretty cream color. There is one very tiny rough spot on the bottom inside of lid; and a few missing paint spots. Beige And Brown Bail Lid Crock Cookie? Jar
The bail wire is missing. I am selling this for a friend that has no idea of its age and there are no maker marks or stickers. This jar measures 8 1/2 inches tall by b 3/4 inches in diameter overall. It holds 8 cups up to the bottom of the brown paint and weighs almost 4 pounds. There is no airtight seal on the lid and no evidence of ever having one so I am not sure what this was used for. Possibly a"child proof cookie jar" There is 1 small chip on the bottom edge of the jar and 4 on the edge of the lid that I will show in the pictures. This auction is for an antique crockery cookie jar. It is a beautiful blue color inside and out. It has remnants of hand painted flowers. It is missing it's lid. But is still very usable could be for the pot shelf or could put cooking tools in. There is no damage, no cracks, breaks or chips. It measures 9" tall and 5.75" across at the top. Very unique old cookie jar lid. Black gentleman in a brown suit. Holding an umbrella with a grey top hat with a black band on his head. Approximately 6 1/4 inches tall and fits on a crock 4.25" wide. Full measurement across the bottom is 5 and 1/8" Painting is very good, and the topper is in very good condition. There are no cracks or breaks. There is a(1/2" approximately) place on the back that the green paint has been scuffed off. See photo) This is a nice piece and will add greatly to a cookie jar. He has a beautiful smiling face. I believe he was made around 1900-1910.

It charmingly shows its age, mainly with paint loss from use, but it does have one chip on one of the handles(see photos of all) Otherwise it is sound with no cracks or breaks.
