The platter meas ures 11& 1/4" x 8&5/ 8" It is in good used condition with no chips or cracks. But lots of crazing. The Paden City Pottery was founded in 1907 by George Lasell near Paden City. WV. Their early wares are marked P.C.P. Co. through the 1930s, when they started using the full name in the backstamp. Most pieces are marked with a date code on back. Paden City is credited with the first use of underglaze decal decoration, starting around 1940 with their Shenandoah Ware line. Paden City is credited with originating the Caliente colored glaze. The company quit producing in the late 1950s& formally went out of business in 1963.

Up for consideration is this Antique Garden City Pottery Number 12 San Jose. California Crock. Information can be obtained from"Potteries of California" No it isn't in mint condition but it will still pickle a very large batch of olives or cucumbers. Provenance information; this crock came from the same house in San Jose that the windows that may or may not be listed came out of. The home was turn of the century. The crock is in fair'as found' condition. There are chips around the top rim(see photos) but there are no cracks that we can find. The time has come for me to lighten my load, so I'm parting with many, many family items. So up for consideration is this lovely antique Garden City Pottery stoneware 6-gallon crock. Very pretty deep cobalt blue lines around the the top, with a nice vivid company stamp and or logo. To my understanding, the company started production in 1902 and continued into the late 1970's. I don't know the age of this crock, but my family lived in the Bay area near San Jose since the early 1940's. This crock was given to my Mom from her Dad who had it prior, but I still do not know to when it exactly dates. I have this crock and an older Union Stoneware Company ... morecrock up this week. Will be packaged very carefully with Styrofoam for shipping. I had to guess on the weight of this item since I'm still trying to find a box. So shipping costs could go down. But they will not go up!
