Antique 1 Gallon Stoneware Gray Colored Crock With Cobalt Blue Feather Design
Up for bids is a one gallon antique gray colored stoneware crock with a cobalt blue feather pattern as pictured. The crock is probably native to here in southwestern Pennsylvania where many famous potters made their crocks and jugs with this color clay and blue designs in the mid 1800's. The crock stands 10 1/4" high and measures 6 1/4" wide across the top rim and 6 3/4" wide across the bottom. If your looking at the crock from the front where the number one is there is one chip on the top left side. One chip on the bottom edge on the right side and a tight 4" long hairline crack on the back side as seen in the pictures. Otherwise the crock is in very nice solid condition. Being sold as pictured and described so please ask any questions that you may have before you place a bid.

F or your consideration… Vintage Stoneware Salt Box Cellar Glaze Crock in a Blue/White/Gray Color with Embossed Fruit Medallions on the sides and the word SALT across the front in a banner style. There is hole on the top of the back for hanging. No lid. The crock is 5 7/8” across and 4” high on the lower side and 5 ¾” high to the top of the hanging side. The embossed fruit with leaves looks to be either cherries or apricots. There are no maker marks that I can find. It’s heavy. Condition: Very good vintage. There is a chip along the top rim. Glaze pops and misses common to this type of pottery. Glaze misses that are worth noting can be seen in pics along bottom blue band. They are still common type and don't detract. Vintage Antique? Crock Bowl Sponge Pattern Ribbed 9 1/2" Gray/Blue
This vintage bowl is a beautiful piece of Americana Art Pottery. I think it may even be an antique. There is an awesome crackling of the glaze inside of the bowl. It is large. 9 1/2" in diameter. The circular shape is not perfectly symmetrical, indicating it was made by hand. The sponged on color is almost blue but, mainly it is a dark, steel gray.

Up for a No Reserve auction is a very nice Jas Hamilton& Co antique 1850's- 1860's stoneware crock jar. Crock measures 9.75" tall. 5" across top, 6" across base. Blue cobalt stencil lettering on front reads"Jas Hamilton& Co Greensboro PA" Overall wonderful condition for it's old, old age, no chips! There is one very fine hairline crack as highlighted in my uploaded photos, it is approximately 4" long and extends to the base, I cannot see any sign of the crack going through to the inside. Primitive Stoneware Double Flower Blue & Gray Crock
Primitive stoneware blue and gray crock. Crock measures 9 5/8" tall and measures 6 1/4" diameter. The crock has a capital letter I in a circle near the top. I assume this mark stands for one gallon but I'm not positive. I've seen other crocks and they are marked with a 1 in a circle? There is a very slight hair line crack on the bottom. It does not come all the way through the crock. There is a small chip off the bottom edge.

James Hamilton & CO Greensboro PA Blue and Gray Stoneware Crock
For sale is a 19th centry one gallon blue decorated stoneware crock by James Hamilton& Co. From Greensboro, PA. It measures approximately 10' tall and about 6.5' wide at the bottom and 4.5' at the top. This piece is in great condition. No cracks or chips that I can see. The only thing is the burn in the front. It looks like this happened when it was being made, not after, but I cannot be sure. You can see better picture of the burn in the picture details. There may be other minor imperfections and small dings which may or may not have occurred in manufacturing. Though the flaws may be there(I don't really see much but I don't collect this stuff) they are mentioned only for accuracy and to be thorough- this crock displays nicely, having a simple shape; the blue stenciling and decoration is well preserved and it would ... morebe a great addition to any stoneware collection. C12) Early 1900s Blue& Gray SALT Crock SWASTIKA Decorated This early 1900s blue& gray stoneware“SALT” hanging crock is in excellent original condition other than its original lid being gone. Probably the most interesting fact about it is its use of swastikas in its design. Before Adolph Hitler adopted it as the symbol for his National Socialist political party in the 1930s it was not a symbol of hate. Advocating racial& ethnic prejudice on a grand scale, even genocide. It held positive connotations& was a“normal” positive decoration seen often in American popular culture even on postcards, stoneware, even on expensive ladies’ celluloid hair combs. Wikipedia explains, During World War I. The swastika could even be found on the shoulder patches of the American 45th Division and on the Finnish air force until after World War ... moreII. This stoneware“SALT” crock is a good example of this. Measuring just under 6” tall by about 6” in diameter. Other than a few manufacturing flaws it is fine: popped” bubbles in firing, most tiny, some seen as specks now, a couple of slightly larger firing flaws, a couple of flakes off the base edge, 1 rough area at the base. We have photographed these flaws as best we could. There are 4 large swastikas on the main central section of the crock with 20 small swastikas around the top, but only 18 around the base because there is a raised oval in the middle of the back lower edge. The large swastikas measure about 1 ¼” by 1 ¼” while the smaller ones are only about 9/16” by 9/16” A fine example of utilitarian blue& white stoneware with historic interest from the turn of the previous century. ~ ~ ~ We charge actual shipping costs only. This is a very nice and very old stoneware wax seal canning jar. It was likely made between 1850 and 1880 by the James Hamilton Company of Greensboro. Pennsylvania. It is a gray jar decorated in cobalt blue. It is about 8 1/4 inches tall and about 4 7/8 inches in diameter across the base. This jar is really nice and has no mentionable flaws other than a shallow crack touching the G in Greensboro, which I suspect was done during manufacture of the jar. Nice antique glazed blue cobalt painted crock/ jar. This is a 8.5 inch crock. It has a 6 inch base. This crock/ jar has some condition issues. Expected for its age. Antique Blue Gray farm prim 4 Stripes Cobalt free hand decoration Crock
Hello. This crock is just a tad over 7.75” high and is about 5” across the top. There are no cracks. You’ll find the typical glaze& firing imperfections and some firing pops to the surface. There are some nicks on the interior rim which do not affect display quality. The interior has a dark brown glaze. Exterior has a wonderful orange peel finish. The four cobalt stripes are strong. There is a production flaw on bottom edge that was done during manufacture. Any questions? Please ask BEFORE you bid– this way we’re all happy. This item is from a non-smoking home.
