With the color more evident at the thick base. It has a cobalt blue applied handle, and a raised cobalt blue spiraling rib near the top which appears to be applied also. The cobalt handle and decoration have decorative tiny bubbles suspended throughout. There are also tiny bubbles suspended in the light blue glass. There is a rough pontil on the bottom. The pitcher stands 8 ¾ inches tall and measures 5 inches in diameter; from handle to spout it measures about 8 1/2 inches across. Excellent with no chips, cracks, flakes, or repairs. This is a vintage rare hand painted floral pitcher applied reeded crystal handle and 4 tumbler's. The pitcher is colored half way up as you can see in the pitures and the tumbler's are all cranberry color and also hand painted they messure appox. pitcher 9 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide amd the tumbler's are 4" high and 3" wide. The pitcher does have some gold paint loss but not much that's why i put as many pitures as i can up so you see what your bidding on. There are no Chip's or Crack's on any of the peice's they are in very good conition. Antique Sandwich( Finger/ Hand Whale Oil Lamp w/ Applied Handle Mid 1800's If there is no bid in this item in the first 24 hours we reserve the right to end the auction. This is a nice antique hand oil lamp that is in great shape. I did some research on this lamp but was not able to find a maker. I did find similar shaped whale oil lamps in oil lamp books. But am not positive this one is of the same makers. This shape of whale oil lamp is most likely from the mid 1800's. This is considered a"syrup jug shape" and was phased out as use of kerosene approched in the late 1850's. The fact that these basic shapes were never revived is assurance that lamps of these types were not originally produced for burning kerosene. It goes on to say that"kerosene burners would now appear most inappropriate on any of'these' ... morelamps. And yet with the collar size the same as that of kerosene burners, it must have been a familiar sight in the homes of the 1860's to see these lamps equipped with kerosene burners and chimneys, burning the'brilliant and inexpensive new lighting fuel' This hand oil lamp measures approx 4" tall to the top of the collar. The font is approx 3 1/2" in diameter at the widest point which is the base(not including handle) I can see nice air bubbles. Cooling lines, hay marks, swirls and manufacturing flaws, all characteristics of old glass. I do not see any cracks on this oil lamp. There is a chip on the very bottom of the applied handle, where the end was applied with a tool(can be seen in picture 7. It will not hinder its use, its just chipped on the design. It is still attached just fine. I found it by feel, not by looking for it, of course once I felt it, then I could see it. There are some light scratches and wear from years of use. There is a considerable amount of wear to the bottom from years of service. Looks like it was a well liked lamp. There is a smooth pontil. Up for auction is an antique stoneware saltglazed jug recently found at auction in northern Indiana. It is found in good used condition. It has a small applied handle in the back large enough for one finger. It measures approx. 6 1/2" with a base diameter of approx. 4 1/2" in size. The opening is approx 1" The only condition issue to report is a small hairline crack in the back which does not go through to the interior. See photo 7. There are also some stain marks which should clean up without much effort. It is not signed and appears more southern than northern American pottery. A nice addition to one's collection. The base is 3 inches in diameter, and it is made of cobalt glass with an applied clear glass handle.The top 2 inches have solid silver overlay and the front and sides have sterling overlay grapes, vines and leaves. The base has a ground pontil, and the inside of the neck is ground, probably indicating that it was originally a decanter, although it is rather small for that. We are offering this lovely late 1800’s American Blue Satin cased or Mother of Pearl Glass Ewer. Or possibly a pitcher, or vase. The ewer is a light blue satin glass encasing white glass. With bulb shaped bottom, long neck, and ruffled with tight crimps on the top edge. The ewer is in the style of comparable items from Mt Washington Glass. But I am not certain it is made by Mt Washington. The ewer has a crystal frosted applied glass handle with thorn type accents. There is some very slight damage to the thorn type glass tips. 4 of them have been partially broken off or damaged. Aside from this the ewer is in excellent condition. Only other thing I can mention there is a very tiny bit of gold paint flakes in a few spots on the ewer. The size of the ewer is 7 ½” tall. And 4 ¾ at its widest point. Please ask questions. Heres a really unique antique pitcher made of"Blue" milk glass.The pitcher has a ground glass upper lip and a hand applied handle as well as a hand applied decorative collar.The only mark is a embossed"2" on the base. The pitcher measures 6-1/2" tall by 4" wide at the widest point of the base.Top opening is 2" across with a pouring spout. Condition is very good. ground lip has a few small flakes orignal to the making of the piece not damage. Very unusual piece of early blue milkglass. I pack very careful and ship fast!

Quite solid in design; cup has a scalloped rim that curves unusually inward, 4 large hobstars are cut around, along with 4 large curving leafs that are frosted. It sits on a notched stem and flared cut edged bottom base. Haven't see anything like it. Great display piece. Approx. 4 1/2” W base. Cup 13” diameter, 6” H Condition: Good/Fair. American Historical Glass A Large Antique EAPG Water Pitcher c.1880's Garfield Drape Pattern_ DESCRIPTION A fine piece of antique historical pattern glass. T he pattern name is GARFIELD DRAPE in memory of the twentieth President of the United States. James Abram Garfield who was shot by an assassin on July 2, 1881 and died eleven weeks later, less than 4 months into his presidency. Known as the last of the LOG CABIN Presidents, Garfield came from humble roots and rose to the highest office in our country. This pattern with it's beautiful triple beaded swags and flowers on a stippled background has an understated simplicity. It was produced by Adams& Company of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania from the 1870's through the late 1880's. Many folks believe this pattern to have been known by another name(Festoon) prior to Garfields death ... morein 1881. The Adams company changed the name to link it to the memorial plate made by them in the same pattern to commemorate President Garfield death. Many different serving pieces were produced in this pattern. Some have become exceedingly collectible, and consequently difficult to find. These gorgeous bulbous form large and heavy 64 ounce water pitchers with applied handles are one of the most sought after items. The high standard cake stand and covered compote are also costly, rare and desirable. Of superior quality. This is crystal clear glass and in pristine condition. The applied tooled handle is fabulous. It has the chevron mark at the top and attaches at the bottom directly over the top of one of the three mold lines. Those mold lines occur just below the waist of the pitcher. And are decorated with tiny leaves and flowers. The decoration under and immediately alongside of the handle is not pronounced due to the application of the hot glass melting the raised decoration. This turn of the century Mitchell Bros. Ltd. jug is quite hefty with black graphics over a cream/ off-white background with 2 applied handles in tan. There are no cracks but a chip under glaze shown in photo#9 which should be considered a pottery flaw. This item is in good"as found" condition considering the age and use with minimal if any crazing. Any flaws in paint or glaze should be considered a manufacturing flaw and not damage. The base has typical shelf wear and has the impressed seal of"Fossil Pottery" 19" Glasgow" along with a stamp"Made in Scotland" shown in photo#8. Very pretty effect.
