In the early 1820s. Local tobacconist George Weyman put together a new blend of chew that he called" Copenhagen" snuff. Widely recognized as one of America's earliest consumer products with a brand name. In 1922. Weyman became United States Tobacco; today, Copenhagen is made by the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. Based in Virginia. Even now. The company proudly traces its history back to Weyman's tobacco shop in Pittsburgh. We are pleased to offer this George Weyman’s Copenhagen Snuff Stoneware Crock circa 1800s and Four Miniature Stoneware Crocks. The Stoneware Crock is embossed with Weyman’s Snuff as shown in the photos. The Four Miniature Stoneware Crocks may have been used to sell preserves or honey and their date of origin is unknown. I don't know much about this beautiful little jug it has a cork top with it looks like wax on top. This is in excellent condition; there are no maker's marks. This offer is for a miniature stoneware jug circa 1890's. It was made for Cambridge Springs. PA which was know for its mineral water. This was probably a sample jug of the mineral water. It is 3 inches tall not including the little wood and wire handle. There are no cracks or chips. The brown paint missed a spot in the back and a tiny spot in the front. This was done in the manufacturing process. Pretty cute and up for your consideration. Thank you for your bid.
