Offered is an old cobalt and grey salt glazed stoneware punch bowl crock. From Westerwald. Germany. Westerwald area salt glazed stoneware was produced in Hohr, Granzau and Grenzhausen. The crock is numbered 141, 3L and their is a makers initial mark(note last photo) The piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and measures 11" tall.

Antique German Stoneware Salt Glazed Mustard Pot 19th-20th Century Crock
This is a late 19th- early 20th century salt glazed mustard pot made in Germany. Bears the Matthias Girmscheid mark on the bottom. Looks like a mini stein but the pewter lid has a small cutout for a spoon to protrude and there is no capacity mark as you would see on a stein. Stands 4" high to the top of the lid. 4 5/8" to the top of the thumblift) and 3" wide including the handle. I've included a picture of it next a can of soda for size reference. Bears three cartouches featuring a cross. An anchor and a heart, a common symbology in Victorian times. The cross represents faith. My German Grandma's Antique Sauerkraut Pickling Crock White Hall Stoneware w/lid
This was my german grandma's sauerkraut making crock. My brother later used it to make pickles. Mom said that when she was a little girl. Grandma would bury this in the backyard to ferment the kraut. And mom said she would sneak out and eat some directly from the crock in the ground. Others have identified this crock as probably a White Hall Stoneware Pickle Crock made by WHSP&S Co. Of White Hall Illinois from 1900-1940. Grandma repurposed the crock for making her Sauerkraut. One of the lugs that held the original handle is broken. So the crock is now held in a net of copper wire. It is soldered in some spots. The lid probably came from something else. The crock measures 14-1/4" tall by 12 maximum width. The blue decorative stoneware lid fits perfectly and measures 9-1/4" in maximum diameter. Overall the crock is in good ... morecondition. There is the one broken lug. One chip on the bottom, and a couple of old chips under the rim of the lid. There are no cracks. Thank you for looking. An exceptionally fine antique. Circa 1890's, unmarked, German stoneware cobalt glazed jardiniere and matching pedestal. They are molded with relief classical motifs. The pedestaled urn has applied lady head handles, the pedestal with goat heads and floral swags, and lion heads. The urn has a cork plug at center well. The pedestal is in two, or three, parts cemented together, and as made. The jardiniere measures 13-1/4" tall by 12-1/2" diameter, the pedestal 32" tall with 14-1/2" bottom diameter. Very fine condition: without chips or cracks, no repairs. The cobalt is without bubbling or peel. The set is for one price.

This listing is for some type of stoneware topper or lid for a crock. I'm not sure exactly what it is to tell you the truth! I wasn't even sure in which catagory to list this in. It looks like an ashtray. But I don't see the usual indentions for the cigarette. But, if I had to guess it would be the lid or topper to a ceramic jug or crock. I've seen some crock items with the German/Asian theme for such things as TEA STORAGE CONTAINERS. It's kind of confusing because there is a Chinese man pictured in the center, but I believe the lettering around the outer edges could be German? Westerwald Cobalt Blue Salt Glaze Crockery This is an Beautiful Antique 10 Liter Westerwald German(or Belgium) Cobalt Blue Salt Glaze Crock. It has a gorgeous floral and leaf design front and back and more all the way around in deep cobalt blue. I think this would be from the 1800's though this kind of pottery dates back even earlier. It measures 9 1/2" tall& 11 1/2" diameter without handles& 13 1/2" across including handles. It has one hairline crack on the side running to the inside which looks like was repaired a long time ago. It also has a chip at the rim. Please see pictures) I bought it like that and it does not diminish it structurally at all. It is still very solid. This is a great display piece for any collector.
