Found in New Hampshire, a mid 19th century “Wishbone” pen wipe, made in the form of a little old women. I believe this to be Shaker made, as it came with ... moreanother Shaker pin cushion (listed in a separate auction, please check it out). In the original clothing, an actual chicken wishbone is painted and tiny early glass beads are used for eyes. The original poem in 19th century script is also still attached to this pen wipes skirt. It reads (in faded ink), “once I was a merry thought, growing on a hen. Now, I am a little old woman, waiting to wipe your pen.” This pen wipe is in excellent condition, standing approximately 3 1/4” tall. A very RARE Shaker penwipe, it would make a great addition to any collection!

Beautiful antique 19th century American textile: loom-woven wool rag rug with fringes. Sturdy. Extremely well made, rich texture, and gorgeous design. ... moreIt measures approx 2'10" x 6 feet(34 x 72 inches) Not including the 2.5 inch fringe on either side. Weighs almost 5 lbs. Photos taken outside in cloudy afternoon light. Looks fabulous! A bit of wear. A few spots, and some of the blue wool rags shows small holes(2nd last photo) No repairs. There are loose black threads throughout, used to sew the rags into strips for weaving. There are less on the side that seems to have been up; likely the threads came off through use. But the rug shows little use- looks wonderful! This rug came out of a VERY dusty old attic, and really needs cleaning. That attic held many other long-forgotten antique hooked and rag rugs. We'll be listing them all. Check out these fabulous pieces!

Fine Japanese Netsuke of Boy and Cricket This charming Japanese netsuke dates from the 19th century and was once part of the Crane family collection. ... moreI was able to buy some of the Japanese things from this collection. Put together by members of this famous American family, makers of high quality paper since the before the American revolution. They still make the paper for the US MInt. The little boy has apparently released his cricket from under the woven basket that his left hand now leans on. There is a red lacquer signature plaque on the base. Bearing one Japanese character. An old repair shows clearly on my photos. At one time the left hand, basket and the leaf that joins basket and knee were broken away.they have been repaired and reglued well, but a better job could certainly be done. LENGTH 1 3/16 inches( 3.1 cm) HEIGHT 1 1/8 inches( 2.7 cm) I sell most of my items on eBay with a reasonable reserve. Often at my cost, and always less than what I would expect the item to sell for. Very careful packaging is part of my shipping cost to anywhere in the continental USA or elsewhere. If you desire to have your purchased insured. I am happy to do so if you request it, but that would be at your cost. International buyers should contact me for shipping costs before final payment is made. Antique German Stoneware Salt Glazed Mustard Pot 19th-20th Century Crock
This is a late 19th- early 20th century salt glazed mustard pot made in Germany. Bears the Matthias Girmscheid mark on the bottom. Looks like a mini stein but the pewter lid has a small cutout for a spoon to protrude and there is no capacity mark as you would see on a stein. Stands 4" high to the top of the lid. 4 5/8" to the top of the thumblift) and 3" wide including the handle. I've included a picture of it next a can of soda for size reference. Bears three cartouches featuring a cross. An anchor and a heart, a common symbology in Victorian times. The cross represents faith. The heart charity and the anchor hope- the safe ground that we all need. Please ask all questions before bidding. All my items come from a clean. Pet and smoke free home.
