This stoneware crock came from an auction in Vermont. Unfortunately the lid goes not match the crock. The crock has a nice brown color. There are no cracks. Some light chipping on the top rim, please see all pictures. It measures 7 3/8" tall and 5 1/2" in diameter across the bottom. It holds 8 cups of liquid when full. Nice piece. BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE STONEWARE 3 QUART CROCK MADE IN USA COMBINATION HIGH AND MATTE GLAZE This is a very nice 3 quart stoneware crock with an unusual combination of high gloss and matte glazes. The upper portion is a rich brown high gloss glaze followed by a band of high gloss lighter brown and dark brown. The lower portion is a matte tannish speckled glaze. They feel different to the touch and you can feel the ridge indicating that the high gloss glaze was added later. High gloss glaze on the inside as well-this crock can be used! Measures 4 5/8"high with an 8" diameter. It is marked on the bottom with the form number"1265" 3 qt" and"USA" I do not know the maker. Condition: Excellent overall for its age with only small minor defects. No cracks. Chips, breaks, or crazing. ANTIQUE 1 QUART SALT GLAZE STONEWARE CROCK This is a nice one quart salt glaze circa 1870 crock. Found in Prince George County. Virginia, it measures 6-3/8" tall with a diameter of 4-1/8" at the top and 4" at the bottom. It features: a nice variable gray salt glaze on the exterior and interior an interior lower rim potter's finger grooves visible inside The crock is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. But does show a surface-only hairline on one side and very minor roughness on the rims. A terrific example of a utilitarian piece of late 19th century pottery! Antique Stoneware Batter Jug - Nice Tin Cover & Spout Plug - Early 3 Quart Crock
Very nice three quart batter jug standing 8 1/2 inches tall. Has a 4 1/4" outside diameter) opening. A 1 3/4(od) spout, and a roughly 6 inch base. I believe this glaze is called Albany slip. The bale is in great shape, as is the tin cover and the wooden plug. No bends, warping or damage to the metal. Just age appropriate oxidation and proper patina to the wood. The glaze has been touched up on the edge of the top lip and the left ear. See pictures 7& 8. The glaze thins out beautifully around the lower pouring handle. Great complete display piece with only the two chips. No other cracks or damage. I package well and ship fast. Insurance is included in shipping cost. Vintage Speckled Ovoid Crock Stoneware Tan Brown over 2 Quart Heavy 3.6 Pounds
This glazed stoneware crock came from an auction in Vermont. It has a wonderful tan speckled design. I'm not sure why there used to be a handle on the crock since there is not a spout. But the handle is completely broken off. There are chips on both the top and bottom rim, no cracks. There is some orange paint on the outside bottom around the base that seems may come off. The crock is heavy. It weighs 3 pounds, 6 ounces. It measures 9 1/4" high and about 7" in diameter at the widest point. It holds 10 cups. I do not have a lid.
