Antique German Stoneware Salt Glazed Mustard Pot 19th-20th Century Crock
This is a late 19th- early 20th century salt glazed mustard pot made in Germany. Bears the Matthias Girmscheid mark on the bottom. Looks like a mini stein but the pewter lid has a small cutout for a spoon to protrude and there is no capacity mark as you would see on a stein. Stands 4" high to the top of the lid. 4 5/8" to the top of the thumblift) and 3" wide including the handle. I've included a picture of it next a can of soda for size reference. Miniature Ovoid Stoneware Crock - 19th Century - Ohio
Miniature Ovoid Stoneware Crock- 19th Century- Ohio A wonderful early miniature salt glazed stoneware crock of ovoid form. With applied handles decorated in cobalt blue. Direct from a collector who originally purchased it from an Ohio bottle dealer. Who had acquired it at an Ohio farm auction. Included is the salt glazed stoneware cover lid that was with it at the farm sale. But I am certain that the lid is not original to the crock, even though it is of the same period. The cover lid's color does not match the crock, and I see no indication whatsoever that the crock ever was originally meant to have a lid. Nevertheless it will be included for you to perhaps match up with another piece down the road. The miniature crock is in perfect condition without any problems whatsoever. RARE J.M. Jegglin Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock 4 gallon 19th Century Boonville
This very rare J.M. Jegglin crock was rescued from the bottom of an ice cellar that was getting ready to be filled in on a farm just outside of Victoria Kansas. It is a four gallon and measures approximately 11 1/2" x 11 1/2" I have not. Nor will I attempt to, try and clean this. It is in"ice cellar find" condition. A couple small chips that are shown in the pictures and a dimple from when it was manufactured on the side, which was hard to photograph and the remaining glazing is rough but no cracks or major damage. A GREAT CANDIDATE FOR RESTORATION IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING. I am not a stoneware expert so I will do my best to answer questions. A BEAUTIFUL piece of Americana ADDED THE SECOND PICTURE BECAUSE I WAS TOLD NO ONE WOULD BELIEVE IT WAS A REAL J.M. JEGGLIN BUT LOOK AT THE LOGO CLOSE-UP!

RARE 19th Century Maritimeware Maritime Pottery Nova Scotia Redware Ovoid Jar
Offered Here For Your Consideration is this Rare piece of 19th Century Redware. This Maratimeware Jar dates to around 1860 and embodies a wonderful ovoid form with eared handles and a cream colored interior glaze. Typical unglazed bottom half of exterior. Made Primarily in Nova Scotia. Most of what is found of this early utilitarian ware is fragments and whole pieces are quite scarce. The jar measures 8.25" tall. 7.75" in diameter at the mouth, and 5.25" at the base. This piece has numerous chips to the rim, glaze loss, staining, and chips to the interior, as well as a couple of stable hairline cracks. Nowhere near perfect, but still quite a scarce piece! Below is an excerpt from Saint Mary's University Archaeology Database, whose accompanying photos incidentally, were only of fragments: Maritimeware, Type: Coarse earthenware, ... moreDate range: c.1860-1900(for large commercial potteries) Place of origin: Maritime provinces of Canada. Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick, Typical Maritime wares produced at large commercial potteries were often decorated with white slips under clear lead glazes giving a yellow appearance on the interior surface(see bottom photo) The white slip was often decorated with spatterings in different colours(commonly green or brown) Crude slip-trailed designs were also used. The exterior of bowls was often left unglazed. Although pitchers, jars and jugs were sometimes covered with a basic lead glaze, sometimes coloured. Hollow containers, such as jars, were dipped upside down with the bases used as grips to hold the vessels thus leaving the lower portion unglazed. The pottery made in the Maritimes consisted of dense. Coarse red earthenware containers and utility wares. The most common vessel forms found are milk pans, bowls, jugs, pitchers and covered jars. Small potteries were also producing wares in the Maritimes during the early 19th century and onward. An example of this type of operation would be the Halfyard Pottery in the Annapolis Valley area of Nova Scotia. Objectified:

Albany Slip Stoneware Americana Brown Crock Jar, New York, 19th Century
I am so pleased to offer this wonderful antique stoneware jar or crock. Finished in a dark brown Albany Slip glaze. This crock is in great condition, no cracks, chips or damage. The measurements are 8.25 inches tall, 7 inches in the diameter and circumference around the middle is 23.25. There are some variations in the glaze that occurred during the firing process. There is also one spot of roughness in the glaze resulting from handling by the potter during the firing. This crock has a classic shape and a terrific eye catching look. Purchased from an old New York estate. Pottery makers across upstate New York turned out millions of pieces of utilitarian stoneware in the 19th century. Much of the stoneware was finished in a dark brown glaze called Albany Slip. The glaze was high in mineral content that accounts for the variations in brown ... moreshading. While salt glazing was the typical glaze technique seen on most American Stoneware pieces, other glaze methods were employed by potters. For instance, crocks or stoneware jars were often dipped in a glazed called the Albany Slip, a mixture that was made from a clay peculiar to the Upper Hudson Region of New York, and fired, producing a dark brown glaze. If you are a crock collector you will love this piece. This crock is heavy.

Antique 19th Century Stoneware Lidded Crock Bowl " Flying Doves "
Do not be afraid to send me offers. As I'm not easily offended. And I love making you deals. And want to make you one, so if you like this, or any of my other items, please take advantage of best offer Hello. And welcome. For consideration is this Antique 19th Century Stoneware Lidded Crock Bowl" Flying Doves" I'm no sure of origin, and age, but my best guess would be mid to late 1800's. The piece is in fair condition with issues. There is a large chip out of the ring on the lid, and some wear on the top portion as well, all as pictured. The bowl has a few very minor chips, but nothing over the top bad. All in all, excluding the large chip, the bowl is in nice condition, and probably quite rare, I've not seen one like it before. The piece measures approx 6" to the top of lid, and approx 10" across. 837-14/CM:MW/LD:09-02-14 ... moreI will combine shipping for all my customers. As long as it's safe to do so. Indiana residents are required to pay state sales tax of 7% International shipments shipping cost may be adjusted at the time of packing. And figuring correct weight, but I believe I set it a bit high, and I'll invoice you the correct amount after you win the item, and package it. Also all duty, or import fee's are the buyers responsibility, and are not reflected in the item cost, or shipping cost. Also I cannot make changes to cost, or description of any purchases, but have to be sent as Merchandise. I strive to be accurate. And provide outstanding customer service, and ship the same, or next day.always. I'm not perfect, and sometimes I may make a mistake, and miss a flaw on a piece you buy from me. This is not done purposely, or maliciously, or me attempting pull the wool over your eyes, and sell you damaged goods, but simply, an oversight. If you look through my ads you'll see I critique my items pretty hard. If there is a problem I'll always work hard to make it right with you. I've had over 3000 sales, and I currently have over 1900 feedbacks, as I do
antique stoneware pot 1 gal. mid-atlantic cobalt decoration, 19th century

VINTAGE MID 19TH CENTURY 10 GALLON STONEWARE CROCK COBALT BLUE STAMPED WITH LID
MID 19TH CENTURY 10 GALLON COBALT MARKED CROCK. THIS PIECE IS UNBELIEVABLE. NO CRACKS OR CHIPS. THERE ARE SOME MINOR IMPERFECTIONS FROM ORIGINAL PRODUCTION. CROCK WAS FOUND IN BASEMENT OF A NORTH CAROLINA ESTATE. I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING AND SELLING FOR MANY YEARS IT IS THE CLEANEST ORIGINAL I HAVE SEEN OUTSIDE OF A MUSEUM. YOU MAY NEVER HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A PIECE IN THIS CONDITION AGAIN. CROCK MEASURES 17 INCHES IN HEIGHT X 14 1/2 INCHES ACROSS. WE CAN WORK ON SHIPPING. I HAVE LISTED BELOW WEIGHT AND APPROXIMATE SIZE OF CONTAINER. THE PRIMITIVE LID WAS MADE SOME TIME IN THE LAST CENTURY. IT WAS HOW I DISCOVERED IT. LID SPEAKS FOR ITSELF AND ADDS A GREAT TOUCH OF AUTHENTICITY. I AM WILLING TO ACCEPT REASONABLE OFFERS. IF YOU ARE A DEALER YOU KNOW THERE IS PLENTY OF MEAT LEFT ON THE BONE BUT WILL NEGOTIATE. IF YOU AREA COLLECTOR ... moreTHIS IS A FAIR WHOLESALE PRICE. BUT THEN AGAIN ALL IS NEGOTIABLE. The only thing I will not do is cut corners on shipping. This piece is so nice that it being damaged is not acceptable. I will of course insure, but that will not replace a piece of history. I found this item with a grouping of others with confederate army markings. They were unwilling to sell most of the items for family heritage reasons. Perhaps with a little research you may be able to establish the maker. I suspect in that period things were made in haste for the military and advertisement was not a priority. The area I found it in has many civil war commemorative land markers and historical sites. If you know of any other examples of such I would appreciate your input. Even if you do so after purchase. I simply have a thirst for knowledge. MAKE ME AN OFFER IF GOING TO A GOOD HOME I WILL MAKE CONCESSIONS. Thank you Scott.

Antique Large Ceramic/Stoneware Mixing Bowl, 18th or 19th Century?
This very rare. Antique piece is in very good condition considering its age, possibly as early as the 18th century. The blue and white ware with a zigzag design on the top and bottom of the bowl has a very old crack and some chips around the perimeter of the bottom edge, see pics, but nothing outstanding. There are no other chips or damage. It has no markings and I found nothing similar. Size: 9 3/4 × 4 1/2.

Colorful 19th Century New England, Possibly Gonic, Redware Jug
This is a nice red ware jug that I believe could possibly be a New England Gonic piece circa 1839-1885. The research that I did makes me believe that this is what this piece is. I am an amateur stoneware collector and it is not my intention to mislead anybody so if anyone has any information on this piece that they could give me it would be greatly appreciated. It stands 7 1/4" tall and 4 1/4" across the bottom. It is very colorful and when put in direct light it looks to be brownish green in color with orange spots all over it. There is some glaze wear on the top rim and the bottom rim as seen in the photo's so please view all photo's. Any questions please feel free to ask. Happy bidding and good luck!
salt glaze stoneware honeypot mid 19th century crock
An awesome undamaged salt glazed crock honeypot. It stands roughly 7 inches tall and 8 inches wide. The glaze is in excellent condition. With NO chips, or other damage. The only flaw is a small spider crack right above the handle, appears to be a glaze crack. When you tap the crock it has a great ring to it. It is 19th century crock, not a reproduction.
