Base 11" in diameter. Floral decoration is about 5" wide X 6" tall. The blue floral decoration has dots and circles. Condition: This crock is being sold AS IS. This is a solid crock but it has issues. Large Blue decoration has excellent dark cobalt blue color but has a chip at the top branch. Shown in picture 2. There is a large chip at the rim above the ear handle, picture 8. The same ear handle has a chip underneath the handle, shown in the same picture. On the outside, there is a spider hairline that starts on the bottom and runs up the side, see close-up picture in picture 5, 10& 11. I would not trust this crock to hold water. There is one small chip in the dark brown glaze on the inside, last picture. Picture 5 shows a raised dark spot on the outside which appears to be from the manufacturing process. See all pictures. Up for auction is an Antique New York Stoneware Deep Blue Flower Design 4 Gallon Crock. The New York Stoneware Co and the number 4 is impressed. The flower design is a very dark cobalt blue. Each side has an applied elephant ear handle. Circa: 1859- 1885. Fort Edward. NY) Measurements: 11 1/4" tall. 11 1/2" in diameter at the top. Base 11" in diameter. Floral decoration is about 5" wide X 6" tall. The blue floral decoration has dots and circles. Condition: This crock is being sold AS IS. This is a solid crock but it has issues. Large Blue decoration has excellent dark cobalt blue color but has a chip at the top branch. Shown in picture 2. There is a large chip at the rim above the ear handle, picture 8. The same ear handle has a chip underneath the handle, shown in the same picture. On the outside, there is a spider ... morehairline that starts on the bottom and runs up the side, see close-up picture in picture 5, 10& 11. I would not trust this crock to hold water. There is one small chip in the dark brown glaze on the inside, last picture. Picture 5 shows a raised dark spot on the outside which appears to be from the manufacturing process. See all pictures. So I am pretty sure it did not go with it-but would assume it would be for a 2 or 3 gallon stoneware crock. Measures just over 1 0.25" diameter and is 8.5" wide at t he insert that goes into the crock. That part is be veled or ang eled. I t looks like the lid may be a replacement but I cannot tell for sure. The spigot is pla stic and the interior of the cr ock and lid are immaculate so your guess as to the age of this is as good as mine. This would make a big hit on your Thanksgiving beverage table or next summer picnic. The exterior of the crock has quite a bit of crazing and also has a yellowi sh discoloration of the glaze. i do not know if it could be cleaned off but I do know it adds to the character of the item. Antique/Vintage Brown & White Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock/Jar-1 Gallon-FREE SHIP
Hello& Welcome, Here's a fantastic old stoneware crock that's still in great condition. It holds one gallon filled to its brim and measures approximately 9 3/4" high. 6 1/4" wide at the bottom& 5 1/2" wide at the top. The opening is 4" wide and it has a tapered neck. The glazing on this crock is in beautiful condition, inside and out. The crock has no markings on it but I suspect it was made locally as S.E. Ohio was/is well known for its good clay soils for producing pottery, ceramics& glass. Within one half hour of where I live is where the homes of such companies as Roseville Pottery, Hull Pottery, Hall Pottery, Anchor-Hocking Glass, Hocking Glass, Fenton, McCoy Pottery, etc. were located. This old crock, though it is missing its lid(like many) is in very, very good condition with no cracks, nicks, ... moreetc. and would make a great addition to any collection. 6 Gallon Crock Western Stoneware Co Maple Leaf #6 BLEMISHES, INTACT FANTASTIC!!
This auctin is for a Vintage 6 Gallon Western Stoneware Crock. Has the maple leaf and the number 6 on the front in blue. This has blemishes and hair line fractures but is intact. I hope the pictures help you. Someone placed a piece of tape along the bottom, I started to remove it but will let you finish. It has two chipped areas along the bottom, top is not chipped. As mentioned there are spider veins or hair line fractures going through it, but no daylight cracks or breaks. Stands right at 13.5" tall and the top diameter is right at 12.75" wide. Vintage Stoneware Six Gallon Salt Glaze Crock with Stenciled 6 and Decor
For your consideration is a salt glazed six gallon crock. I am not sure what company manufactured this crock. However there are some clues that could help: It is yellow(or at least I think it would be if properly cleaned) The 6 and th decor around it were stenciled on. The decor around the 6 has an outside diameter of approximately 2" The crock is hand turned. There is a sigle trim line, running not more than 1/8 of inch below the rounded rim and another single trim line approximately 1 1/4" below the rim. This crock stands approximately 13 1/2" tall and the bottom is approximately 12" in diameter. This crock is very stable, but has the following imperfections: In the front and running downward into the decor circle, is a very tight hairline approximately 4" long. Closer to the right handle, than the front is a three ... morehailine"crow's foot" each of the three hairlines are between 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" long and all three are very tight. On each handle, are minor to insignifcant chips. On the backsideare some places where the glaze is missing. This crock is basically in"as found condition; all I did was wipe the dust off. Old Antique Redwing 5 Gallon Stoneware Crock Jug Butter Churn Red Wing
We have this old Redwing butter churn crock to offer in good as found condition. It is marked with the wing and Union Stoneware logo. It has wire handles. No lid and a nice 4" wing. The crock has a flaw on the bottom that looks like it was made this way. Just a hole, small. not a chip. There is a 1" crack that is on the bottom rim that is also a firing crack. Only shallow and not seen inside. This is a good Redwing Churn and is a hard to find piece. It is in good clean condition and is 16 1/2" tall. For your consideration is a hand turned five gallon crock made by Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Company of Roseville. Ohio. This company was founded in Akron, Ohio in 1856 as Johnson, Whitmore and Company; through a series of mergers, acquisitions and taking on new partners, it became known as R.R.P. Co. and was located in Roseville. I think(think, not 100% sure; if anybody knows for sure, please inform me) the mark on this crock was used during the 1930s. The crown is in blue and under the clear glaze; meaning it cannot be scrubbed or scraped off. The interior of this piece of stoneware shows evidence of being hand turned. There is a large USA debossed into the bottom. This stoneware crock is almost 13 3/4" and the bottom is almost 11 3/4" in diameter. This crock has 0 cracks, however it has a chip where the left side of the front ... moremeets the bottom; this chip is less than 1/4 of an inch in diameter and is very shallow. This auction is for a vintage 1/2 gallon stoneware crock. This measures right at 5" tall and has a diameter right at 7"across. This has a fracture in the that start part way down the side and continues half way across the bottom. This is a fracture not a break. Here is a white glaze one gallon stoneware crock. It is side stamped in cobalt blue RUCKEL'S STONEWARE. It is also bottom marked RUCKELS STONEWARE WHITE HALL ILLINOIS. It is in excellent condition. There is only one glaze pop located to the right of the side stamp(see photo) There are no chips or cracks. It does have light crazing appropriate for its age and it is very clean. The smaller gallon sizes are harder to find because they were used more often and thus more breakage occured. Nice specimen. In my opinion. I would rate this one 8 or 9 on a scale of 10. This auction is for a Vintage Red Wing 3 gallon crock. Has a blue number 3 on the front. A red wing and the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing Minn. Stands right at 10" tall with a diameter of right at 10.5" across. This has some blemishes, a chip on the rim and fractures across the bottom as you can see in the photos. Also on the bottom someone has placed felt pads so the crock wouldn't scratch any surface it set on, these could be removed. This is solid, the fractures are not breaks. Antique 1 Gallon Stoneware Gray Colored Crock With Cobalt Blue Feather Design
Up for bids is a one gallon antique gray colored stoneware crock with a cobalt blue feather pattern as pictured. The crock is probably native to here in southwestern Pennsylvania where many famous potters made their crocks and jugs with this color clay and blue designs in the mid 1800's. The crock stands 10 1/4" high and measures 6 1/4" wide across the top rim and 6 3/4" wide across the bottom. If your looking at the crock from the front where the number one is there is one chip on the top left side. One chip on the bottom edge on the right side and a tight 4" long hairline crack on the back side as seen in the pictures. Otherwise the crock is in very nice solid condition. It is approximately 11 3/4 inches high and is about 11 1/2 inches across in diameter. Stamped at the top with: A. K. Ballard. Burlington, VT. Alfred K. Ballard used this maker's mark between 1867 and 1874. It also has the number 4 stamped on the front, just under the maker's mark, indicating the 4 gallon size. The jug is 8" tall and 5.75" in diameter at the base. It is 2.75" at the opening. The jug is in good antique condition with no real chips and only manufacturing flaws and related ageing defects. He is thinning out his collection beginning with the broken ones. This was broken into pieces and glue repaired. I'm sure a professional repair job could be possible. But this feels pretty sturdy as is. It would not hold water but still displays well. It's a beautiful piece of history that can't be replaced and shouldn't just be thrown away because it's broken. 3 gallon Union Stoneware Co. crock. Red Wing, Minnesota. Early Red Wing, circa 1890. This old crock with the double birch leaf design has good markings and displays extremely well. In the first four photos, I've rotated the crock 90 degrees to give you a full picture of its exterior. In the fifth, a picture of the bottom of the crock as seen from the interior, you'll see a"spider crack" that occurred during baking. It does not extend through to the exterior, and the crock is watertight. In the third and sixth photos, you'll see a very fine hairline crack that extends about 8" along the base. F or your consideration is a Red Wing crock. Pre 1915, which is this one is clearly before the handle patent. These big wing crocks are getting tougher to acquire. This one is crack and damage repair free, but does show some bottom edge chippers in pics# 10& 12. Number 11 shows a factory clay dimple. Always allow for stoneware glaze skips. And glaze runs which are possible. This one does have a noticeable skip by the"5" Piece rings very well. The block letters are unique also as this changed shortly after this period also. Antique 19th C Stoneware Cobalt Decorated Ovoid 4 Gallon Crock 14" Excellent
We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Design 4 Gallon Ovoid Handled Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with no chips. Cracks, and or repairs. There is 1 very small rough spot on the top rim, 2 small brown glaze misses on the inside, and minor staining and manufactured roughness. We guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the exceptional condition of this large crock. The crock measures 14 1/4" tall x 10 1/2" wide x 9 1/2" at the mouth x 7 1/4" at the base and weighs approximately 15lb. The crock has a lovely bright blue cobalt design that borders the entire top half with a great ovoid shape and applied handles. We believe this to be a Pennsylvania crock dating from the mid to late 1800's. A great larger crock with great cobalt blue ... morethat would make a wonderful addition to anyone's collection. Through photos, the flaws which is unfortunate because it is a really nice looking crock. There are 3 small chips where brown meets grey, a couple of spots where the glaze was thin or skinned.see photos. Cork is original as far as I know. The top brown color is deep and rich and there is very light crazing. It will be packed well and insured.
