Antique Vintage Salt Glaze Brown Crock Jar 1 1/2 QT Wax Seal
Up for bid is a antique brown crock salt glaze jar used for vegetables or fruit. The lid was sealed to the jar with wax. Such jars date back to the 1200's however this one is probably from the 1800's. This jar is 1 1/2 qt. capacity. Stands 7" tall and is 3 1/2" across. You couldn't ask for a nicer piece for it's age as it has one small chip and wear along the rim and another chip on the side, each about 1/5" and some glaze is missing at the bottom, appears to be a manufacturing flaw. Otherwise there are no other cracks or other chips. This would be a great addition to a collection. Please take a minute and look at my other listings which are varied and different. I will combine postage I have considerable inventory I need to consolidate and doesn't help that I keep adding to it. There is a small chip on the bottom edge. It is 3 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide. No marks. The one on the right has the lid. Gasket and bale and is in working order. Up for auction is a very nice old cottage cheese crock. With the name"Fairmont's cottage cheese registered" written on the front. The crock is about 7 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches in diameter. This is a vintage white stoneware crockery Jug with Cork stopper made in Japan. Japan is engraved at the backside near the base. This little jug stands approx 2 inches high. The base diameter is approx 1 inch. It has its original cork. But the cork has a tendency to fall within the jug when touched. It had fallen inside when I tood the photos. The inside of the pot is brown. There is a cobalt blue crown and the# 2 inside the crown. The pot and lid are in very good condition. Up for sale are these unusual. Rare, vintage stoneware Crocks or feeding dishes. Unknown maker. They are 2 1/2" high. 7" in diameter. They have an unusual 1" lip. In good antique or vintage condition with no chips. Or breaks. There is a spider crack on each crock/dish on the inside bottom and they do not appear to go through to the outside.There is a spider crack on one of them that goes down the side and about an inch along the bottom. And it does go through to the outside. I put water in it to see if it would leak. It does have a slow leak. So if you were to plan on purchasing them for a dog or cats dish, that one would be good to put it's dry food in that one. And water in the other one. That one does not leak.The lip would deter spillage. Check the photos. I pictured the crocks on all sides. Makes a nice pair of crocks/dishes ... morefor your collection. Vintage #2 Water Crock w/ Lid Unknown Maker
Antique/ Vintage#2 Water Crock with lid and spout I got this wonderful crock at an estate sale. It was covered in some strange pink tint which I was able to scrub off. When I cleaned it the rubber gasket around the spout crumbled away to nothing so it will need a new one if intended for fluid use. There is a hair line crack that runs through to the inside at the top. Rare Double Stamped Vintage Love Field Dallas Texas 2 Gal. Stoneware Crock
Up for your consideration is this rare double stamped antique Love Field Potteries stoneware 2 gallon crock. Complete with the original lid. This crock was mistakenly double stamp in manufacturing and could very possibly be the only one of its kind? It measures 10 1/2 inches tall, 9 inches wide at the base and will make a great addition to any antique crock or stoneware collection. As you can see in the photos around the top edge there are a couple more factory flaws. The dark brown marks at the top rim are also factory mistakes in the molding. Here is a Vintage Red Wing Minnesota Union Stoneware Co. 2 Gallon Crock. It is rare because of a factory flaw- the oval was applied upside down! I understand that this occurrence is not unheard of. But it is rare. Here is an opportunity to add a different crock to your collection. The crock is in pretty nice condition. Has some wear and a very minor chip along the bottom rim. A beautiful crock with cobalt design. Which has some CRACKS on the side and back. When you are displaying it facing front you don't notice the cracks. It is 11" high and 8.5" diameter.
