Antique New York Stoneware Blue Flower Salt Glazed 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock
Up for auction is an Antique New York Stoneware Deep Blue Flower Design 4 Gallon Crock. The New York Stoneware Co and the number 4 is impressed. The flower design is a very dark cobalt blue. Each side has an applied elephant ear handle. Circa: 1859- 1885. Fort Edward. NY) Measurements: 11 1/4" tall. 11 1/2" in diameter at the top. Base 11" in diameter. Floral decoration is about 5" wide X 6" tall. The blue floral decoration has dots and circles. Condition: This crock is being sold AS IS. This is a solid crock but it has issues. Large Blue decoration has excellent dark cobalt blue color but has a chip at the top branch. Shown in picture 2. There is a large chip at the rim above the ear handle, picture 8. The same ear handle has a chip underneath the handle, shown in the same picture. On the outside, there is a spider ... morehairline that starts on the bottom and runs up the side, see close-up picture in picture 5, 10& 11. I would not trust this crock to hold water. This is a Vintage Blue Crown 2 Gallon Stoneware water Cooler Crock With Lid A nd Sp igot. Th is is a cool old crock. I do not know it's exact age. I t looks like the lid may be a replacement but I cannot tell for sure. The spigot is pla stic and the interior of the cr ock and lid are immaculate so your guess as to the age of this is as good as mine. This would make a big hit on your Thanksgiving beverage table or next summer picnic. The exterior of the crock has quite a bit of crazing and also has a yellowi sh discoloration of the glaze. i do not know if it could be cleaned off but I do know it adds to the character of the item. Minn" on the front. This water cooler has 2 metal handles with rust but the handles move well and freely. There is no lid and where the spigot used to be there is now a wooden cork. The Cooler weighs 13 lbs 5 oz. is 12-1/2" tall 9-1/2" across the base and 9-3/4" across the opening, the cork where the spigot used to be measures 1" across. There is a chip along the inside rim of the cooler and a crack on the inside base otherwise the cooler is clean and in good condition. We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Flower Design 2 Gallon Ovoid Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with a few spider cracks on the base with 2 going through to the inside. 3 of them extend up the outside bottom of the crock. There are minor shallow chips to the upper rim. Both outside and inside. The crock is 100% structually sound, it rings true when you tap it and holds water no leaks. No other issues at all. The crock measures 12" tall x 10" wide x 8" at the mouth x 6 1/4" at the base and weighs approximately 10lb 10oz. The crock has an incised 2 below the one handle. A lovely large crock with a great ovoid shape and applied handles. It has a heavy and dark cobalt blue flower and leaf design that borders the top half of the crock. Antique 1 Gallon Stoneware Gray Colored Crock With Cobalt Blue Feather Design
Up for bids is a one gallon antique gray colored stoneware crock with a cobalt blue feather pattern as pictured. The crock is probably native to here in southwestern Pennsylvania where many famous potters made their crocks and jugs with this color clay and blue designs in the mid 1800's. The crock stands 10 1/4" high and measures 6 1/4" wide across the top rim and 6 3/4" wide across the bottom. If your looking at the crock from the front where the number one is there is one chip on the top left side. One chip on the bottom edge on the right side and a tight 4" long hairline crack on the back side as seen in the pictures. Otherwise the crock is in very nice solid condition. Offered is this vintage or antique 4-gallon almost-white crock. The crock is marked with a blue"4" inside of a star inside of a circle. It originally had a handle and lid but these are no longer present. The crock measures just over 15" high and is about 9 1/2" wide across the top. It is in very good condition. With no cracks and only a couple of very minor rim chips. There are also a couple of very small areas that look like they were never glazed. As you might imagine this is a very heavy item. T.F. Reppert antique stoneware crock from Greensboro PA. Sadly this one is broken. It was shipped to my father and didn't survive the trip. He is thinning out his collection beginning with the broken ones. This was broken into pieces and glue repaired. I'm sure a professional repair job could be possible. But this feels pretty sturdy as is. It would not hold water but still displays well. It's a beautiful piece of history that can't be replaced and shouldn't just be thrown away because it's broken. Up for bid is this vintage pottery crock with the cobalt blue Crown 3 hallmark and the lid. The outside is glazed in beige. With a cobalt blue crown. The inside is glazed in beige as well. The crock is a 3 gallon size and measures 11 1/4" tall, 10 3/4" wide. What makes this crock rare is that the lid is still intact and with it, as I have found very few with the lid included. Vintage Blue Crown #3 Gallon Crock with Lid (Brown strip across top- different!)
I got this at a clean smoke free collectors auction. This is a vintage crock. There are a few minor cosmetic conditions but it displays VERY very well! The lid fits perfectly and is in good vintage condition. There are a few hairline cracks. On the bottom and and a bottom edge(see pics#4-5) The bottom hairline crack does go through to the inside but it is still very solid and not going to break unless you drop it of course: There is also a chip on the top edge(see pic#3) There is some milk white splash on it which you can see in the first pic but I'm confident you can clean that off if you want without damaging the crock finish. I have outlined the obvious cosmetic conditions but please make sure to check out the pictures I have provided to determine condition for yourself because I am selling this Vintage-As-Is. A fantastic three gallon stoneware crock in excellent aged condition with only a few rim chips the only distraction. Made by and clearly stamped" NEW YORK STONEWARE CO. 3" inside a dotted rectangular border with remnants of a blue cobalt wash. The company was a profuse producer of fine decorated stoneware in Ft. Edward. New York from 1859-1885. This highly collectible example features a large blue cobalt ... moreblooming floral decoration complete with dotted pistils that covers the entire front of the piece. Masterfully executed with great attention to detail. Done with a beautiful light blue cobalt with no frying except at the high points of the dots. A wonderful piece of 153 year old decorated stoneware chock full of crudity and character! Note the crudely formed elephant ear handles that were formed and applied by hand. A thick even coat of salt glaze was expertly applied during firing. Lending the piece a shiny light brown aged patina. This wonderful antique crock comes to you in the highly collectible three gallon size. A size with great appeal to collectors as it will display just about anywhere. The interior is lined with a typical chocolate brown Albany Slip. Condition: Excellent for a crock over 150 years old. The only distraction are three exterior flake type chips at the back of the rim and one large at the inside rea of the rim along with some tiny nicks along the rim edge. This is a vintage antique large blue crown 6 stoneware 6 gallon crock.It measure approximately 16" tall by 13" wide and 12" across the bottom. It also weighs about 25 lbs. It has some crazing going on in the upper part. Please see pictures, and some pitting. Has a spout on it, but am unsure if it is complete to use. This is an old Robinson Ransbottom U.S.A. 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock with Blue Stamp in excellent condition. Measures 9-1/4 in. high. 10 in. diameter, with additional impressed USA mark on base. No chips or cracks, light age crazing. Only flaws are the ones that happen during firing, which are pinholes, pops and the typical glaze imperfections seen on these old crocks. Vintage 6 Gallon Salt Glaze Hand Turned Stoneware Crock Cobalt Blue Eagle Design Very Nice Thanks for taking the time to visit my Ebay store. Up sale is a very nice vintage 6 gallon salt glaze hand turned crock stoneware. The inside has the brown slip interior, and the hand turned rigid( see picture) The croc k is in very good cond ition. Ther e are two very small chips on the inside top rim o f the crock( see picture) And one small chip on the outside bottom rim. On the left handle side( see picture) There are no cracks, the salt glaze clay is beautiful, the crock has elephant ear handles, and two incised lines going around the crock at the handles area( see picture) The design of the crock is just wonderful, it is a cobalt blue eagle with spreading wings, the wing spand is 8" long, the eagle is standing on a very nice cobalt blue design ... morewith the word E PLURIBUS UNUM, also in cobalt blue, this word is found on the back of a dollar bill, the word is Latin, the word mean"out of many" under the eagle design, at the bottom of the crock is more cobalt blue design, it is the number 6 the gallon of the crock, inside blue cobalt design very nice( see picture) It is nice to see a 6 gallon crock with the eagle design, usually find it in a 3, or 4 gallon size, the cobalt designs are ver y vi brant. And clear( see picture) This crock is beautiful, great to admire, the crock will be a wonderful a dd ition to any stoneware collection. Or a great candidate to begin collecting crock stoneware.
