This is a wonderful cabinet dating from the 1900s- 1910s that has tiger sawn oak with checker maple and ebonized inlay along the tops and ... morebottoms of the glass fronts. The whole perimeter of the serpentine glass door, and the rest of the cabinet is quarter sawn oak construction. It has three wood shelves with plate grooves in the back, and two glass sidelights in the front, one on each side of the serpentine door, which is“S” shaped instead of curved, which is quite unusual. It has tapered legs with molded rectangular posts, and also glass on the sides. It’s in its original finish which shows some scuff marks here and there and some rub marks. It’s in good, honest original condition, and it has only been wiped down with a rag. The overall size is 44 inches wide, 18 inches deep in the center, and 64 inches high. There are a few nicks and dings here and there, and it has its original key. All the glass is good. Here is a marvelous old Charleston estate sale find in wonderful condition. an early twentieth century oak bowfront china with wood shelves and beautiful carved applique crest rail and old glass. This fabulous china display cabinet has three wood shelves as well as the bottom of the cabinet for storage. All with plate rail grooves and showcased by glass on three sides including the bowed glass on the front door and side panels. This cabinet is an unusual and very special find, especially with all the glass completely intact and overall in such nice condition as detailed above. This wonderful cabinet stands 65 inches tall to the top of it's removable crest rails and 60 inches to it's top surface and measures 36 inches across at it's widest point and 13 inches deep, front to back. There are a total of four shelves, each 34 inches ... morewide by 11 inches deep front to back. The four shelves are currently set with 13 1/2 inches, 12 inches, 9 1/2 inches and 11 inches clearance above each shelf respectively in descending order. This is a cabinet stands on legs and does have a lock set with key. Antique Oak Bow Front China Curio Display Cabinet 4 Shelves
Very nice antique bow front china cabinet. It is made of oak and has 4 shelves. It is in good condition with some imperfections-it has a small hole that was cut out of the back and patched with veneer-you can't see it from the front as the bottom shelf is right in front of it. There is a slight separation of the wood on the top as seen in picture. The side pieces are glass; however. The door has a piece of Lexan in it-this was placed because curved glass is very expensive. Lexan is a very tough polycarbonate that is barely distinguishable from glass-you really cannot tell the difference when you look at it. I was told it is easy to take care of but not to use paper towels or ammonia on it. Of course, you could always replace it with glass if you didn't like it. It has a key, but it doesn't lock. Overall, these imperfections are ... morenot that noticeable-I just like to be up front and point everything out. This piece has curved glass sides and the door has a slight curve to it as well. There are 2 shelves on the interior. Looks like there was a third shelf at one time. The door has a leaded glass panel at the top which is very pretty and adds a lot of character to this piece. The leading is broken in a couple of places but could be easily repaired. The door has Plexiglas ... moreinstead of the original old glass below the leaded glass. The top is showing some age, the wood has darkened around the front edge and has a nice patina. The glass on the right side panel has a line of damage on it, not exactly sure what it is but looks like etching. See the photos below. The interior shelves have plate grooves. This piece is in overall good condition. It is antique and will not be perfect. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. Up for sale is a Lion Head and Feet Oak China Cabinet with Curved Glass. This China cabinet had been in my Mother-in-laws family since she was a child. If she would still be alive today. She would be 114 years old. It was left to my wife and I around 15 years ago. We are planning an upcoming location move and thus liquidating many pieces. I'm guessing it is turn of the century.
