There is slight pull away of the dovetailing on the bottom, but I think you could probably carefully tap it back into place. The previous owner did a very slap-up job of putting a dark stain on it, so the finish is somewhat inconsistent, you can see the oak in places inside, and there are faint watermarks on top, but I honestly love the look and character of this piece, and it's completely solid and functional. All four metal sliders are still inside, though they are a little stiff/rusty. Measures about 16" x 13 1/2" x 9 1/2".

Macey Antique Oak 4 Drawer File Cabinet Dovetailed Orig Finish Mission Hardware
I think this antique oak 4 drawer Macey file cabinet is in very good vintage condition. It still retains the majority of the original dark oak finish. It is a bit scratchy on the top and has a few spots but I would leave it as is. I think a bit of scratch cover and a waxing would be sufficient to make it home ready. The interior of the cabinet and drawers are very clean for a vintage item. If you like to refinish items to a light oak look it would refinish nicely. It does have the original Macey Decal of Grand Rapids Mich. and all of the drawers have the original directional decals as well. The hardware is mission style so it would go well with arts and crafts furniture. It has a tiny seperation halfway up one side that is only about a 16th of an inch wide and causes no structurally concerns. Offered is an antique quartered(tiger) oak Macey four drawer card file. File is for the larger 5" by 8" cards not the standard 3" by 5" index cards. Macey was a very high quality manufacturer of barrister bookcases. File cabinets and other early 1900's office furnishing. For strength, sides are dovetailed into top and bottom and drawer fronts and backs are also dovetailed with drawer sides. Original brass hardware. Unit is stackable. This is a vintage Globe Utility library card catalog drawer with an index card organizer box inside. The drawer has scripted in gold the work"Utility" on the top front. We have this nice Tiger Oak Library Index File for sale. It is a very solid piece- drawers open and close as they should. The drawers and case are all made with dovetail design- no cracking in any of the wood. The cabinet has not been restored but has a nice patina to it. Antique TUCKER 2 Drawer (5x8) Q-sawn Oak File Box desk top dovetailed cabinet
Tucker File Box Antique quarter sawn oak desk top file. Features larger than normal 5" x 8" drawers. Has never been stripped and has it's original brass label. Could stand to be glued in a couple places along the bottom edge but is solid and stable just like it is. The finish has extreme wear and spots of paint as well as water& oil stains. If your wanting a file that looks likenew this is not for you. If you want one that shows use and has caracter this is your file. Dimensions: 19" wide x 7" tall x 13 1/2" deep. The inside of the drawers measure 8 1/8" wide x 5 1/4" tall x 11" deep. Condition: Has stains. Paint spots, wear, a couple side cracks, pulls have some minor bends and the finish is very worn. Up for bid is one antique. Arts and crafts Maceys quarter sawn oak single drawer file index. Measures 8" x 6" x 14. Dovetailed joints. Brass pull. Inside has adjustable index card back. Macey label on top. The condition of this piece is used. Front of drawer has a liquid stain running down front and the backside of the top of the drawer face has some roughage on either side. The Macey stamp is well worn also. The joinery on right front side is a bit loose. Right side of box has a spot of roughage-not bad but needs to be mentioned. Left side has a couple of spots that will pick off. If you want mint or pristine. This is not the box for you. Everything functions smoothly and it can be used as-is.
