$60.00 Shipping Condition: Used Location: Mooresville, United States This is an old favorite of mine.Small enough to be very versatile.My mother was a librarian and I have her large 60 and 72 drawer units from her library ... morebut this guy is a real treasure.The larger units are from the 60s, this guy with it's dovetailed joints goes back to the 1890s. Each drawer has the 1892 and 1894 patent date on them.The Library Bureau Sole Makers Company was in business from the early 1880s to about 1925.I guess the library in the 1890s had to be the only gateway to the world and the hands that were in these drawers.Very nice old patina and there are a few issues but not major and easily addressed and fixable with low expense.There is a piece along the right rear back panel which is not really visible from the front.A couple drawers have some cracks and one has a piece of the rear panel gone but every issue is repairable and I have not altered or repaired anything so you are dealing with the original item.No screws or glue added but it could use some skill to keep it original.There was tape used on the exterior over the years and those are the shadows you see in the photographs.The shadow of the ring on the top was put there by the original librarian so I had a place to put my coffee cup.It is a really cool piece and soundly built.Another 100 years is no problem with this guy. ANTIQUE OAK LIBRARY SOLE MAKERS CARD CATALOG FILE CABINET RARE LONG OPEN DRAWERS
Antique Library card catalog. Made by the Library Bureau Sole Makers Company. Made of oak. Appears to have never been refinished. Shows years of loving wear. Please see all the pictures for a better idea of condition. There are 3 drawers with 6 areas for cards. The drawers are unlike most cabinets and are open rather than seperated into cubbies. This actually makes it much more usefull than most other cabinets. Only one drawer still retains the inside hardware. All drawers retyain the original outside hardware. One very interesting thing about this cabinet are the hand holds that were carved into the sides. This cabinet was apparently moved alot so the hand holds were added after production to aid in moving the cabinet. Normally I would say this would hurt the value but in this case they were probably added around 100 years ago and I feel ... morethis actually makes it even more interesting. All 12 drawers are dovetailed and glide smoothly. They all have thick, brass finger pulls with label holders. Heavy, solid construction(weighing 45LBS) with a very nice patina. 1940s Vintage "Weis" Wood Library Index Card Catalog Industrial Cabinet File
This antique"Weis" index card catalog file cabinet measures 19-1/4 inches wide. 15" deep, and 14-1/2" tall. Modular construction, it has a top half and a bottom half, with two drawers per section. The drawer fronts are made of wood, not oak, fine grain hardwood such as ash or maybe poplar, and is painted olive drab green. The sides and back are made of a thin sheet material, perhaps plywood or masonite. Please note the original Weis decal located on the top of the cabinet. The drawer pulls are made of metal, probably steel, but I didn't check. This type of cabinet is great for index card storage, of course, but I have others like it that make great'small parts storage' for my workshop. There is a laminate piece that was placed on the top. There are 2 drilled holes in the top. Faded paint? markings throughout. One drawer pull is split, there is one pull missing. Wheels were attached on the bottom with ply wood, can be removed. This stands 26.6" tall minus the wheels and ply wood. 33" in width. Very heavy. Antique Oak 15 Dovetail Drawers Library Bureau Card Catalog File Cabinet
Offered for your consideration is a great antique 15-drawer oak card file cabinet. Beautiful craftsmanship with dovetailed drawers- and it sits atop ball feet. Versatile piece due to its height and finished back– could be used for so many things. In the office. Kitchen, family room- use it as a bench in the bedroom at the end of your bed for storage, use it to store wine bottles, and so much more. CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with normal wear due to age and use. There is a chip in the oak on the front edge and underside of the top. Vintage Antique Library Card Catalog File Cabinet 12 Drawers Gaylord Brothers
This is a vintage card catalog file with 12 drawers. I was probably made around the 1950's. When the blonde maple finish was popular. The manufacturer's tag on the back is from the Gaylord Brothers Company. It's in very nice condition, with a nice patina and a few normal scuffs and minor dings from the years. It does have 2 very small veneer chips on the back at the bottom edge. These wouldn't be seen if the file was on a desk or table against the wall. Please look at the photos for the best idea of the condition. All the drawers open and close smoothly and have their adjustable card supports. The drawer fronts are maple and the interiors are plastic. It will hold standard 3" by 5" index cards. The drawers can hold objects up to 15" long. This is an American oak library card catalog with 4 drawers. Made by the Library Bureau Sole Makers company. It is dated on the sides of each drawer with patent dates of 1892 and 1894. It shows a lot of character and patina from the last 100 years. It's not perfect, but has a nice appearance and looks good on a desk or table. The drawers have the card supports present and the drawers operate smoothly. The back has paneled construction which is nice, and everything is dovetailed for added quality. The outside dimensions are 14" by 14.5" by 11" tall. The drawers hold both 3" by 5" index cards, and 4" by 6" cards. I will ship this by FedEx within 1 day of payment.

Hello you are bidding on a Rare Antique Library Bureau Sole Makers 4 Drawer Card Catalog File Cabinet.This item is in overall good condition for a item of its age.The wood shows normal wear.It does have some scratches and such in places.The back of this cabinet has some wood starting to peel off.On the front as you can see the very top piece above the drawers has a small gap in it where it has warped or just come a little out of place from age.The drawer hinges are missing a couple of the wood screws but thats no big deal as they are easily replaceable.This item is an excellent piece for a full restoration or just clean it up a little with some wood working skills and wood treatment.Either way you look at it.This is a remarkable piece and would be great to the right person.

Thanks for checking out our listing! Offered here is a gorgeous. Early Yawman& Erbe Manufacturing Co. antique floor model library or office twenty five drawer index file cabinet or card catalog. This hard-to-find model has some great things going for it.it is high quality, large with 25 drawers, free standing and an early model! In addition, t his unusual piece is a rare stacking model.the top and. Each consecutive layer of drawers, lift off all the way to the base. A total of 7 pieces including top, base and five rows of drawers(5 drawers each) Solid wood(sorry but I'm unsure what kind.possibly Walnut as it is quite dark and not as dense as Oak) with beautiful grain and dark finish. Both the top and base feature lovely. Wide moldings that are deeper than the actual drawers, creating a nice decorative accent not normally seen on cabinets ... morelike this. There is also a simple, decorative molding that runs the height of the cabinet on each side of the drawer rows. All original, untouched finish with the exception of the bottom, left hand drawer front which someone has stripped/begun to refinish. this isn't very noticeable. However, if you are looking to refinish the entire piece, it's a good sign of what's beneath because this drawer looks great! Each of the drawers has a solid wood front, dovetailed into secondary solid wood sides. All of the hooked handles/label holders on drawer fronts are original, solid copper with terrific patina(please note that one of these on the bottom left corner has been refinished/polished as mentioned above) Each of the drawer fronts on the bottom row features a small, copper tab with the company logo, Y& E Co. embossed on it. It appears that perhaps these were also originally present on the drawers just above but now there are just small pre-cut holes.
