You might argue that the kitchen table is the dearest. And if it is, the Hoosier is a very close second. The official Hoosiers were made by the Hoosier Manufacturing Co. of New Castle. Indiana, but models were also crafted by other Indiana companies. Today the term"Hoosier Cabinet" is generically applied to any cabinet that fit's the following description. Hoosier Style Cabinet - Marsh Cabinet Company circa 1950
This is a Hoosier Style Cabinet with flour bin manufactured by Marsh Cabinet Company 1950. The cabinet is in 3 separate pieces.the top section, the enamel counter and the bottom 2 door cabinet. It is in excellent condition and very babied over the years. Included is a copy the cabinet in the Marsh Catalog from 1950. Also included is an obituary and bio of the man who originally owned the Hoosier, Dr. Walter McDougall. He was associated with the Museum of Northern Arizona for 25 years. This cabinet was given to his caretaker when he went into assisted living. The caretaker later consigned it to a Flagstaff, Arizona antique store where I purchased it in 2002. This much provenance is rare.

HOOSIER STYLE CABINET - EARLY 1900's SELLERS KITCHEN ORIG ETCHED GLASS INDIANA
This Sellers Hoosier style cabinet was manufactured in Indiana most likely between 1913-1933. I found a picture in Philip D. Kennedy's Hoosier Cabinets book(page 79) which is this cabinet exactly. Stating that it is a 1913(which would make it 100 years old! The book says that the cabinet in the picture is 52" wide whereas this cabinet is 56" wide not allowing for the metal brackets that hold the counter. It has been here in the mountains of New Mexico for 25+ years. Well cared for and maintained. The previous owners(good friends of ours) told us that it was a green color at one time and was restored to it's original finish. There is a small amount of evidence that it was another color and I have pictures I can send to a serious inquirer. Inside the large three section drawer there are two spots- I didn't even know about ... morethem until I started taking pictures. You don't notice them. I believe I took about 25 pictures and chose 12. More are available should you have any questions. The entire cabinet unit(comes apart into 2 parts) is in wonderful condition! We hate to part with it but it won't fit in our next house. There isn't a wall it will fit on. I have attached 12 photos. Experimenting without flash and some with flash. I had the misfortune of choosing an overcast day to take the pix so flash was necessary at times. I prefer natural light for furniture as it captures a more accurate color. Some of the interior pictures(the flour bin and sifter. For example) are with flash. Hoosier Style Kitchen Cabinet With Enamel Work Surface And Flour Bin/sifter
This is a wooden kitchen cabinet that dates to the 1940s. The top and bottom are two separate units attached with brackets. The countertop work surface is enamel. The wood is not of high quality. I started stripping it and learned that the wood was not probably intended to be exposed. As it was a mix of species and grains. So I stopped stripping it and just repainted. The back of the upper part was so water damaged that it needed to be replaced, so I used bead board plywood painted red. There are still some missing knobs and latches. The tambour door was missing when I got it but the metal tracks were still there. They are in one of the drawers now for safe keeping. The flour. In with sifter tips out for filling. Sellers Hoosier Style Cabinet Parts BOTTOM CABINET DOOR COMPLETE
I have a Sellers hoosier style cabinet that I am selling off all the parts. Everything except for the upper and lower cabinet frame and drawers is available. Including all hardware, doors, flour bin, tambour(rolling door) enamel work surface with wood framing and the brackets which the upper cabinet is attached to the lower. Feel free to contact me with specific questions on any of the above. This auction is for the original door for the bottom cabinet complete with wood bin. Wire rack and original hinges. The door measures about 22 by 19 1/2 niches. The inside measurement is about 21 1/4 by 18 7/8 inches. The wood bin on the top inside is about 19 3/8 long by 3 1/4 deep by 2 1/8 inches high. The hinge side will need some attention, is attached, but away from the door. ANTIQUE HOOSIER STYLE SALESMAN SAMPLE KITCHEN CABINET Here is a wonderful little hoosier style cabinet. I've had a lot of childrens furniture but not detailed this well. The way it is constructed is unusual. The top. Sides, bottom and work surface is wood covered with metal. The upper door and back& lower doors and the drawer fronts are metal. All of the metal is painted to make it appear to be made out of copper. One of the things I see that make it appear to be a salesman sample is the hardware. The hinges, latches& drawer pulls are just like the big cabinets except this hardware is smaller and it's all rivited on cabinet. This is an antique cabinet and it does show wear. Napanee Hoosier Style Kitchen Cabinet Cupboard Porcelain Top. This is a genuine Napanee Hoosier Cabinet Model J. as stamped on the back. 1925. It is just the( bottom) portion but includes the white porcelain top. The cabinet measures 48" x 27" The white porcelain top has 8 porcelain chips on the edges as you can see from the photos and two tiny flea bites, also on the side. There are 5 drawers. The top left drawer is divided into 3 back sections and 2 front sections. The drawer is 21 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches deep. The top right drawer is one large drawer 21 x 21 1/2 long and 3/3/4" deep. The right middle drawer is 12" wide and 6 1/2" deep. The bottom right drawer is a metal bread box 11" wide for the insert and 12" wide including the wood, 9 1/2 inches deep. This drawer has some damage to the wood at ... morethe top and bottom as you can see from the photos. The 2 big lower drawers each have metal brackets measuring 8 1/2" high and 13 1/2" long. Inside this section, the top shelf sides out and has been replaced. It measures 29" x 21 imches and the space height is 6 3/4" The bottom shelf has a new bottom over the old and measures 10" in height form the shelf above. There are two slide out boards: a pastry board measuring 15 1/2 x 21 3/4 wide with a hand notch undernearth for easy handling. the other is a cutting board 11" x 16" made of 1" stock wood. The back of the cabinet says Porcelain White Model J and has the original shipment tag: Napanee IND 839-M and a partial Railway sticker The veneer is wavey on the bottom back but the cabinet is solid. The cabinet needs slides for the porcelain top. The previous owner had stripped the white paint which is still visible in the edges. Old hardware. Vintage Oak Hoosier Style Cabinet By Klamer-Goebel Furniture Co. Evansville, IN
This is a beautiful old two piece Hoosier style bakers cabinet. It measures approx. 75" Tall x 26" deep x 42" wide. The counter top measures 48 1/4" wide as it overhangs the edges of the cabinet. The cabinet was made by the Klamer-Goebel Furniture Company in Evansville. Indiana. The label is still affixed to the back of the cabinet. If I had to guess the age of the cabinet, I would say that it is from the mid to late 1930's. It has been recently refinished which consisted of painstakingly stripping 3 layers of different colored paint and one coat of stain down to the original oak, then applying a coat of Sedona Red stain was applied to the outside of the cabinet in a manner which allowed the natural grains in the oak still to come through. if you zoom in the 1st picture you can see the natural grain of the oak! The ... moreinside of the cabinet was painted with a high grade paint and primer in a very similar color. The counter top is also oak and was also painted with the same color and sealed several times. New round casters were added to the bottom that are very similar to the original ones that were broken and not working. The color of this cabinet, which i consider to be close to a rich,warm cinnamon shade will go great with any color cabinets you have in your kitchen, white, medium or dark. There is a pull out biscuit prep board under the counter top. There are two tilt out bins on the bottom and a slide out drawer on the bottom left. There is no wood rot anywhere on the cabinet.The top middle door mirror is old and beveled with minor age spots and the other two top doors have an old frosted crackled ice type glass in them. There is also a smaller tilt out bin on the top middle with a drawer above it. Other than the cabinet being quite old and it's normal condition from age, there are no major defects whatsoever. Sellers Cabinet Hoosier Style Flour Sifter Wood Oak Slag Stained Glass Windows
A fine example of the Hoosier style cabinet so popular in the early part of the last century. Oak and mixed woods construction with amber slag glass in the top cabinet doors. The sifter is intact and working. The tambour side-rolling doors are missing. And the latch to the center top door was replaced at some point with a hook and eye that works quite well for the purpose. As in many of these cabinets, the trays are missing from the bottom large cupboard and the sliding top is gone from the metal bread drawer. The cabinet measures 70" tall by 40" wide and 24" deep when the porcelain top is slid back, about 30-32" when it is slid out to make a larger work surface. Beautiful antique hoosier style cabinet! Not scratched or beat up. A piece you can really show off in your home. Two small marks on the porcelian, otherwise, good and clean. It's two pieces, stands about six foot high and four feet across. One of the nicest old hoosier cabinets I have ever seen. Everyone was always in awe of it when they came in. This oak kitchen cabinet is in good condition. It has the original metal tag on the front. A roll front above the porcelain work area and a metal bread drawer. It needs to be repainted or refinished. The porcelain pull-out work area has a couple of small spots that are only seen if the porcelain is pulled out all the way. It is a NAPANEE brand cabinet made in Indiana on Sept. 23. 1941. It is marked on the back that the original finish was PEARL WHITE OAK. It is 71" high x 40" side x 24" deep at the bottom part. It comes apart for moving. There is the top section. Vintage Large Enamel Top Cabinet - Hoosier Style - white w. stenciling 40" x 25"
ENAMEL TOP CABINET 40" Long. 25" Deep, 31" Tall My summer away from ebay has been postponed until I help a family member downsize. Please take a look at my other listings. Here we have an interesting piece-an ENAMEL TOP CABINET-that used to be used in the kitchen. But now would fit just about anywhere in the house. It would make a great buffet, and the enamel top would accommodate hot or cold dishes nicely. Put it in front of a window and put plants on it. It's ... moregot lots of storage room. The piece is 40" long, 35" deep and 31" high. It's got red trim and stencilling on the door. The enamel top is white with green trim around the edges. The large bottom drawer is lined with metal(tin? I'm far from an antique expert, but it's my guess that the piece was made in the 1930s-50s. Condition: For an old piece. I think this one looks pretty good. I don't see any major flaws. The enamel top is not pristine, but not bad either. There are a couple of rings on it from plant pots. They may come off. I used a washcloth and cold water and a lot of the marks did come off. I suspect more will with the right cleaning supplies. I think the enamel is a bit thin in one area. I see very light gray coming through the white. I didn't see any chips or rust, but I see on one of the pictures there is a spot on the green rim. I'm not in the same city as the furniture. I'll have to check next time I see it. If the drawer above the door is supposed to open, it doesn't-at least I could not pull it open. I don't know whether the current paint and stencilling are original. On the one hand, the piece looks too nice

This auction is for early undate Hoosier style kitchen cabinet. The wood was painted white and it's chipped off in places. The work top is white enamel with a green band around the edge. The metal bread bin is in place but the sliding lid is missing. The door's Dutch children stencils were most likely done in the 1950's. In the 40's and 50's stencils were real popular. Some of these have begun to chip off but I've found them on eBay. So they can be replaced if buyer wants to. As you can see, it's in my shop at the present, but needs a new home! These are approximate measurements: height is 65 1/4" tall, 22" deep and 42" at the widest point. These measurements were made with the enamel top not pulled out. Antique Vintage c1940s Napanee Bread Cabinet Hoosier Style Enamel Top Restored
This cute Napanee bread cabinet from the 1940s was salvaged from an estate and fully restored(painted inside and out) The base is a creamy white with mint green drawer fronts and accents. It boasts the original chrome hardware. They c1940s teapot and teacup Meyercord decals on the front doors and drawers are a fun add on! The white porcelain enamel over metal top is in great shape with only a few spots of character adding loss to the porcelain along the edges and some very minor surface scratches on the top. The metal bread drawers on the sides have only been cleaned and not painted. The center drawers have the original varnish that cleaned up beautifully– the top drawer is divided for silverware. The interior features a sliding metal rack. It comes with the original Napanee-Coppes tag on the front of the piece and it is also stamped on the ... moreunderside. Manufactured in Elwood, Indiana, USA! As sharp and original as the day it was new: You can scour off the kitchen grime. We have left it alone lest we polish off its venerable patina and honest wear. All the exterior and interior paint. Decorative graphics, enameled surfaces, tambour door, hardware, hinges, exterior and interior latches, drawer pulls, casters, inserts, labels, posters and stenciling are entirely original and unaltered. Unpainted interior and back surfaces are original and unaltered, too. Cabinet measures approx. 71” tall. 47” wide, 13” deep at the upper cabinet, and 28” deep at the lower chest. The white enameled work surface measures approx. 32” tall and 47” ... morewide. The main enameled work surface may be easily pulled forward to increase the work surface area: When fully extended forward, the work surface measures approx. 33.5” deep from the back of the cabinet, 21” deep from the front edge of the upper cabinet, and 15” deep from front edge of the upper cabinet when not extended forward.
