Vintage 1 Drawer Antique Oak Library Bureau File Card Catalog Index Yawman Erbe
This listing is for a nice vintage cabinet by the Yawman and Erbe It is a one-drawer example. With the original brass drawer pull, and brass tag that reads"Y and E" It has the original adjustable sliding card holder in the drawer. Everything operates smoothly, the back however is missing(see picture) and there is some paint splatter on the front. These files were in common use in the early part of the 20th century in libraries, schools, and offices and were built to last. This example has wonderful quartersawn oak wood grain patterns and quality dovetailed construction with a few small cracks on the sides from over the years, but does not affect the overall condition. The dimensions of this file are approx. 7.5" wide by 16" deep by 10.5" tall.quite a bit taller than a standard card catalog. All 12 drawers are dovetailed and glide smoothly. They all have thick, brass finger pulls with label holders. Heavy, solid construction(weighing 45LBS) with a very nice patina. Really nice antique 4 drawer Maple wood library card catalog has great looks to be hand done dovetailing. The cabinet is 9 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep and weighs 27 pds. The drawers hold 3 x 5 cards. In good condition other than the rods that go in the bottom of the drawers are gone in the drawers but that makes it nice that the standard 3 x 5 card will fit it and there are some scratches. Tape residue, few small hairlines on the top, rubs, stains, average wear for its age. Did not find a manufacturers' name on this but in one of the drawers were some numbers as you can see in picture 8. These cabinets are good for a lot of things and look great. Hi. Up for your consideration is a Vintage Globe Wer. Co. library catalog file cabinet/box. I believe it is made out of Tiger Oak. All the joints are dovetailed. This was an estate find. I have done nothing to it-no polish or Old English. It is a beautiful piece of History and would make a wonderful addition to someone's personal library! All the drawers are made to fix 3"x5" index cards and they all are still in fine working condition. On the top of the cabinet, at the far back edge it says'GLOBE WER.CO#9428-I-IAA-19-15-30-and I believe) $16.20" Two of us looked at it and we both think it is a dollar sign in front of the 16.20. It is a 4 drawer cabinet that has the original slide adjusters in each drawer. It is dovetailed made as pictured. The cabinet measures 19 ¾” x 16” and 13 ¾” tall. It is in great shape as pictured. It is solid oak except for the back which is a veneer. There are some chips in the back veneer as pictured… nothing big. On one side. The wood has split, but this a minor cosmetic issue as the joints remain solid. There is an ERIE sticker on top, and we think it is the Erie Railroad. ANTIQUE vintage Weis index. FINGER JOINT WOOD LIBRARY POST FILE CARD CATALOG BOX
Item is in fair condition with minor surface scratches. Finger joint construction. Back finger joint had lid bracket pulled out and is reflected in picture. Lid has a split next to finger joint damage. Look at picture. Their is damage to it. I had this in my vintage office for display and worked very well as the damage is hidden. Someone put a nail for a hinge pin as noted in picture. Still retains the nice Weis logo. 13 inches long by 5 3/4 inches wide by 4 3/8 inches in height. Looks to be missing the idex card slide thingy. The inside cover or lid bracket is not attached. I think this is pine Ask Questions BEFORE BIDDING. Vintage Wooden Card Catalog-2 Drawer Wood Library Index File-Dovetail Drawers
Up for auction is an excellent vintage wooden two drawer card catalog. This piece measures 16 1/2 x 15 7/8 x 6 5/8" and features two drawers with dovetail detail. This is a vintage piece. So it does show sign of past use, including scratches, scrapes, and dings on the surfaces. At some point, it looks as though the original drawer pulls were replaced with metal knobs, which you can see in the photographs. The drawers still have the metal card catalog framework inside, and I can move the framework back and forth from the bottom. I have not cleaned or polished this piece, but I would imagine that it would look even better with a little care. Please view the photos carefully, as they best describe the condition of the item being sold.

Here is a really nice antique tiger oak library Index 4 drawer Card Catalog made by Amberg File& Index. Genuine. Circa early 1900's. Nice aged patina. Quarter sawn oak construction with dovetailed drawers. I am not sure all are the original drawer pulls-the bottom 2 are the same, but the other 2 are different. All 4 drawers have label holders. Drawers open and close smoothly. The original block of wood inside the drawer remains in all 4 drawers. It measures approx. 15 1/2 inches x 15.5 inches and 11.75 tall. Nice, well built. Weighs about 26 lbs. Shows ordinary wear, dings, markings etc. Very good overall condition. There is a half torn off label with a zip code from Rittman, Ohio on the side. Very nice collectible!

Measures 13x13 1/2 x 9 inches. It could use some attention like a refinish. I will leave that up to the new owner. It does not have a maker but does have four capital letters on the left upper corner(FBVE) which I believe it stands for Federal Board Of Vocational Education. And to the right the numbers 2- 1006. 1940s Vintage "Weis" Wood Library Index Card Catalog Industrial Cabinet File
This antique"Weis" index card catalog file cabinet measures 19-1/4 inches wide. 15" deep, and 14-1/2" tall. Modular construction, it has a top half and a bottom half, with two drawers per section. The drawer fronts are made of wood, not oak, fine grain hardwood such as ash or maybe poplar, and is painted olive drab green. The sides and back are made of a thin sheet material, perhaps plywood or masonite. Please note the original Weis decal located on the top of the cabinet. The drawer pulls are made of metal, probably steel, but I didn't check. It is in very nice to excellent condition. This is about as nice as they get. a beautiful piece worthy of use and/or display just about anywhere. I don’t know the manufacturer(Globe. Remington Rand, Gaylord Brothers. Sole Makers? but the craftsmanship of this piece is superb. For example: the drawers are all wood(no plastic here) with solid oak fronts the Dovetailing on the front of the drawersis intricate and precise with 4 dovetails instead of the typical 2 or 3. There is also dovetailing along each side of the top. see pics) All the drawers and slots are numbered and were individually fitted. Vintage Card Catalog This is vintage 6-drawer card catalog. It is composed of oak wood with a medium-tone finish. The bottom of the catalog is made of pressed board. The catalog was made to hold standard 3" by 5" index cards with holes in them. A rod inserts through the hole in the cards to hold them in place. The rods are released when a small amount of pressure is applied to the bottom of the knob as it is pulled outward. Each drawer is approximately 1/4 full of blank index cards. The drawers stick out from the body of the cabinet approximately 1/8" On the face of each drawer is a brass handle with a window for inserting a drawer label. Purchased from old building auction. I will do my best to describe. 12 drawers. Oak outer, metal inner all marked Globe. This is 2 pieces stacked, 6 drawers each. This will need some restoration. There is a laminate piece that was placed on the top. There are 2 drilled holes in the top. Faded paint? markings throughout. One drawer pull is split, there is one pull missing. Wheels were attached on the bottom with ply wood, can be removed. This stands 26.6" tall minus the wheels and ply wood. 33" in width. Very heavy. This collectible 2 drawer card catalog file may have been used in a library. It is in pretty good condition. it is light oak and has dovetail on one drawer. The other drawer was replaced with a drawer that is wood on the outside and plastic on the inside. you can't tell any difference unless you open the drawer. there are little brass pulls on the drawers. this box measures about 13 1/2 wide. 17" long, and 5 1/4 high. This is a listing for a MACEY Single Library Card Catalog Drawer Cabinet! This is a stackable cabinet and has beautiful dovetail corners inside and out. The drawer pull is brass. It has legs on the bottom and grooves on the top to stack multiple units. Someone painted the bottom white. Not sure if that's original or not. There is a piece of veneer missing from the back, approximately 5-1/4" x 4-1/8" Overall size of the cabinet is 14" x 8" x 6" not counting the drawer face. In overall good shape, could use a light cleaning. P lease see photos for actual condition. A nice little piece. Priced to Sell! Antique American Oak Library Bureau Card Catalog 2 Drawer Vintage Index File
This is a nice antique oak 2 drawer card catalog file made about 1915-1920 by the Library Bureau Sole Makers company. It has the original brass tag and drawer pulls. And still has both adjustable card supports in the drawers. This has very nice quartersawn oak wood grain patterns and features quality dovetailed construction. The finish is clean and this file is ready to use and enjoy. It holds 4" by 6" index cards or photos. The outside dimensions are 6" tall by 14" deep by 15.5" wide.
