Vintage Map File Cabinet Solid Oak
This solid oak 15 drawer unit comes from the Department of Interior built by Hamilton Manufacturing. It is in three 5 drawer sections with the top section made of solid oak. Banded with mitered mouldings. The cabinet as displayed is 45 inches high x 45.5 inches wide x 34.5 inches deep. The drawer fronts are approximately 2.5 inches high. Each section could be converted to a coffee table and the bottom two sections are without top. There are minor blemishes which come from age and use. There is no significant flaw in any of the exposed surfaces.

This is an exquisite 28-drawer vintage map cabinet. This is a rare and classic piece. The drawers range in sizes from 1.25 inches at the top to 4.5 inches at the bottom. The cabinet is 47 ¼ inches tall. 38 inches wide, 19.25 inches deep. We believe it is maple wood or teak. It's very heavy and well built with dove tailed solid wood drawers. All sections are oak and are the same size and design. But were made by different cabinet makers, One is marked Lietz and the other is marked Hamilton. The top and base are a redder color than the center section. The bottom section has just one drawer that is about 6 inches deep. The map cabinet measures 46 inches wide, it is 36 inches deep and stands about 40 inches tall. It's pretty heavy. Last Time! Antique Globe Wernicke Oak Map Blueprint Cabinet 5 Sections - Rare!
This is a RARE find. I am simply not going to get to all the"projects" I have acquired and this deserves to be cherished and used! This is a set of 5 Globe Wernicke Map- Blueprint Oak Cabinets each with 5 drawers. Will NOT sell individually. These were acquired from a university and clearly were used in a Department of Agriculture(they have the USDA inventory stickers still attached)office prior to be used in the university setting. I date their age to be 1920s or perhaps the mid 30's. These were clearly utility pieces. I recovered paperwork from the USDA from 1930 thru the 1950's. These were made when furniture was meant to be used for many. Many years and was not meant to be a disposable item. They are solid wood with dovetailed joints. While they are structurally very sound and solid(one drawer front was broken& glue ... morerepaired) they need some serious TLC and updating of handles- I will leave that to the new owner. I was planning to more thoroughly clean, sand, stain in a darker tone for consistency& replace handles with vintage bin pulls: of course, the new owner may decide to do more or less depending on preference. 1900-1950 American Maple Map Cabinet Medium Wood Tone
Map/Chart Table. Dimensions: 35’ High 38” Wide x 46” Long. Constructed entirely from hardwood and appears to be clear Maple. The chest has 4 drawers 3 of smaller size in the upper portion and one large drawer with dividers in the bottom. The drawers move easily and open straight through the chest and as such can be accessed or removed from either side. Period of manufacture appears to be pre-WWII and Post WWI as the drawers have blind rabbet joints which appear machine cut. There are no makers marks which leads me to believe it was hand crafted for the user which was the local property records office. The top boards are splined together. This is a really great quartered quarter sawn oak file cabinet. Sort of a map case but with drawers that are not as wide. 13 drawers in all in two different sizes. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth and even finish. Note the original fancy iron pulls and also that the cabinet has a'pull-out' which is quite nice. Incised front and multi paneled on the sides. The interior of the drawers are 19.75 wide and 17.5 deep. The short drawers are 2.5 high and the two taller drawers are 5.5 high. Note the shorter drawers have a divider down the middle but it comes out easily if you prefer. The overall size of the cabinet is 25.5 wide. 20.5 deep and 60.0 high. Impressive antique art deco 26 drawer figured maple cabinet. It has two rows of drawers; each consisting of 12- 2" high drawers over one 7 1/2" high drawer. They have long maple pulls on each drawer. It is raised on a black lacquered base and has a black inset formica top. The bottom drawers have dividers. The edges of the cabinet have no sharp edges. They curve in a waterfall manner. It is in good condition and the drawers all slide well. There is minor chipping to the veneer on the very back edge and is a little wavy near the chip.
