Antique Oak Bathroom Cabinet Towel Bar Silvered Mirror Medicine Chest Early 1900
Very. Very nice condition. This was made by Edward Mikkelsen& Co, Chicago Illinois. The stamped image on the door says, Manufactured by EDW MIKKELSEN& CO, Chicago Ill" Edward Mikkelsen was a cabinet maker and was best known as one of the founders and craftsmen of the Automatic Machine and Tool Co in 1898 with John Gabel. He continued to make the oak cabinets for John Gabel's amusement and music machines. Including jukeboxes, in the very late 1890's and very early 1900's, even though he sold his share in the company a year after they started. Mirror has some slight scratches in the silver. But overall it is very nice considering the age. Please view the sixth and seventh pictures to get an idea of how the mirror looks. The outside looks great with minor wear. On the inside, the wood piece that holds the mirror in has ... morepulled away a bit on one side where the wood split a little(see eighth picture) Still functioning properly, though. The back appears to be pine, but I am not a wood expert. It is not oak like the rest of the cabinet. There are two additional shelves. All shelves are in very good condition, with some minor staining. The towel bar is original and is removeable. I do not know if the white porcelain knob is original or not, but would assume that it is. Cabinet is 22 1/2" high x 16 1/2" wide and 5 1/2" deep. Please view the pictures for further details and ask before bidding if you have further questions. Item will ship UPS ground and you will have to sign for it. Available for purchase is an antique/vintage. Dark green medicine chest with mirror and crystal/glass knob. The actual frame of the chest seems to be in good condition, although the interior has been painted at some point and is flaking badly. The outside, dark green paint is patchy in the best sort of way, but could also be refinished. The mirror has some patina to it but is still clear enough to be useful. The inside has nice shelf supports, although the glass shelves would need replaced as none have survived. The overall measurements are 21 1/4 inches wide x 25 inches tall x 6 inches deep. The wall insert portion is 17 1/2 inches wide x 21 1/2 inches tall x 5 inches deep. Vintage Wood With Glass Top Apothecary Medicine Medical Dental Cabinet Chest
Early to mid century medical/apothecary cabinet made of wood. Has a black glass top 3/8" thick. There is a 2-piece add on countertop shelving made of pressed wood and painted green to compliment this rare piece. All drawers will lock when the center 7 1/2 drawer is pressed shut flush with the rest but the locking key is missing. There is some paint flaking on the right side vertical edges that may be easily touched up- not abnormal with age. Dimensions: Overall dimensions are 40" wide x 44" tall top glass top(44 1/4" to back plate/stop) x 13" deep. there are 25 drawers total. 18 are 2" high, 2 are 4" high, 2 are 6" high, 2 are 10" high and the center locking drawer is 7 1/2" high. This came from an estate of a dentist. The top glass has a matte black paint finish on the underside and has a ... morechip on the front right corner and a 3-4" sliver from the rearward corner the same. The 2 piece pressed wood shelf top add-on; one side measures 27 1/2" tall x 19" wide x 8 1/4" deep and the other is 13 1/2" tall x 20 1/2 wide x 8 1/4" deep and has a wood dowel for instrument hanging. Condition: This piece was well made and is structurally sound and heavy. I'd estimate the weight to be 65 lbs. All drawers have crystal like knobs that match and are correct for that era. Some of the smaller upper drawers have channeled compartments for instrument separation. A couple of the larger drawers have some mildew that could be cleaned- we chose not to do more than dust it off with a damp cloth. There is little to no odor. Others appear to have minor water staining. On one of the frontal rail slats is a serial number and on another is a paper manufacturers inspection label but it is not very legible. Neat early 1900's primitive Medicine Cabinet inold oil based white paint. Great little cabinet.Solid in all respects with well adhered old white oil paint and a nice crackle. Nice original cabinet! I gave this a good cleaning many years ago and it has been indoors since and has no rot/mold or odor issues. Measures 16-1/2" high x 12" wide x 4-3/8" deep. The inside depth is 3-3/8" The two shelves are dadoed into the cabinet sides. The mirror appears original to the piece and has some minor aging and paint and is held in with a few nails. Offered is a Vintage Mid Century Wall Mount Medicine Cabinet. The mirror measures approx. 18" by 11" And the cabinet is 16 3/4" by 10 3/4" This is a left side opening cabinet(door swings left to right) This cabinet is circa 1940's to 50's. We believe most likely 1950's because of the straight line edges and dog eared design mirror top. During the 50's manufacturers were trying to distinguish their own styles and moving away from the curves and circles of the Art Deco era designs. Note: in the 4th photo it appears that there is a dark spot in the mirror. This is NOT a blemish on the mirror. A bird was flying overhead during the photo.

Very cool antique cabinet. I do not know that the original purpose was for this. But it has a lot of potential for modern use. It originally had a glass pane over the door. The glass is gone, but it was repurposed with chicken wire and beads giving it a very interesting look. Additionally, it was painted with a white, distressed paint in a shabby chic style. Very nice condition with some rubbing of paint and a dent in the back. So many possibilities. Nice for a kitchen, bathroom, lady's/girl's room or any living space. Measures about 16 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" and it weighs about 5 1/2 lbs. Does not have a bracket for hanging but can easily be mounted to a wall.
