This antique china closet ... more/ buffet dates from the 1890s, and consists of a three-drawer double door base, fluted carved vases on the base doors, dainty detail carving across the crest of the shapely bevel glass mirror and a carved fruit basket crest on the very top. It has a couple of small holes above the bevel glass mirror on the right-hand side of the wood. I would guess it had a shelf there, but it doesn’t take away from the beauty of this antique sideboard. We used to get these all the time and they used to sell for thousands, but you can’t find them often anymore. Someone hung a mirror on the inside of the top section of the back which covered up the tiger sawn oak panel.

It measures 49" wide by 69" ... moretall by 18" deep and has a curdled original finish with all three of its curved glass panels in excellent condition and a locking door with its original key and three oak shelves with double plate grooves- it has a double mirrored back that shows age wear on the silvering- unfortunately it does have some other repairable condition issues which are that termites got into the soft secondary wood on the back and partially into the back left claw foot and a little along the underside front edge(see photos) the rest of the oak shows no other termite damage- the house it came out of was fumigated a number of years ago so it is free of termites- I had a friend of mine who is an expert with termites look it over closely and he 100% guaranteed it is termite free.

Century-old china cabinet with curved glass, tiger oak?
Very good condition with minimal scratches in wood and minimal imperfections in glass. Approx. 43 inches wide. 16 inches deep and 64 inches high. At left rear towards the bottom, along the back edge, there's a thin, approximately six inch streak of light paint. Lower section locks with original key. Upper section does not lock but does open. Mirror has some streaks and small splotches of something brown. Four shelves are removable. Cabinet rolls on wheels. Feet have snail( design. Stamped 1916 on back of mirror. This may be quarter sawn tiger oak— but I'm no expert.

Due to the contrast between the ornate front and the plain sides. It most likely was built in or recessed into a nook in the wall during it’s original use. The total height is 7 feet 2 ½ inches. For easier moving. The piece comes apart just above the top row of drawers. A good thing too. Since it is solid wood– no laminate as best I can tell, and very heavy! Dimensions: Total height: 7 feet. 2 ½ inches tall(separates into two sections) Top section. Down to flat surface below columns: 54 inches Bottom section. Drawers and doors: 33 inches Width: 5 feet 3 inches across Depth at center front: 22 inches Depth at sides: 15 ½ inches Opening ... morein front of large center mirror: 33 inches tall Opening in front of smaller side mirrors: 14 inches tall Here’s what I know: The wooden shelves are ¾ inch thick and are adjustable on the original saw tooth shelf supports. They are not pressed wood. The glass in the doors of the top section are leaded. A couple of glass sections have cracks. But no glass is missing. Over all. For it’s age and gentle use, this piece is in remarkably good condition. It was refinished in the early 80’s. The drawer pulls and hinges were purchased new at that time. And put through an“antiquing” process to better compliment the age of the piece. The large mirror in the center has beveled edges. This beautiful dining room set has had one sole owner who took excellent care of its inside as well as the finished wood, which hardly shows any signs of age.
