Size is 35" wide by 53" height by 15" depth. Two glass front doors with beautiful wood fretwork on fronts. The fretwork can be removed if you prefer a plain cabinet. But it would mean removing the glass and interior molding that holds it, in order to reach the fretwork. Left inside door has a latch at the top to secure it. There is a keyhole in the right door but I do not have a key. I have used this as a curio cabinet, with thee three shelves as shown, but it INCLUDES 13 SHELVES total. I believe this was probably a music/periodicals cabinet, but it can also be used as a bookcase or curio cabinet with less shelves. Shelves ... morehave unusual metal guides on sides(removable) to attach them, and shelves slide in. There are only 6 shelf guides included(enough for three shelves, shown) but I have misplaced the rest in a move(are somewhere in my home) If I come across them I will send them to you, but otherwise if they are not located, I am sure you can find some sort of shelf brackets if you want to use 13 shelves. The front of the cabinet has two Chippendale shaped legs(pretty! Color is deep mahogany, although I am not sure if this is made of mahogany, walnut or other wood etc. I do not know the age but this appears to be old/antique. This is a beautiful vintage cabinet. Made for storing sheet music. There are 5 shelf inserts that are removable. The cabinet is made of mahogany and mahogany veneer. There is a skeleton key with it, which does work and lock the cabinet! A gorgeous decorative mirror is attached to the back of the cabinet. mirror does show some flaws from age, and there are surface scratches on the top of the cabinet, see photos. Cabinet measures 38" tall to the top of the cabinet. And then the mirror is an additional 9.75" tall at highest point. Body of cabinet is 17.24" wide and 14" deep. Imported antique hand carved oak music cabinet
This cabinet is 4'6" wide. 5'6" tall, 20" deep. The large opening on top has a 32" TV(does not convey) The two doors when closed, open out and then slide back alongside the side of the cabinet. It has two 4" high drawers under the TV opening and then another large opening underneath with shelves. That door slides up and then slides back underneath the drawers. The carvings on the top doors are ladies dancing around a maypole and the other door has revelers playing instruments. The bottom door has a mandolin and guitar. I think. This cabinet was brought to the US by my family many years ago and is in very good condition. It has a small chip on one side which can easily be filled in. We don't know what type of wood it is made from but it is a rich dark wood may be mahogany. There is no manufacturer's mark but there is a partial paper sticker that reads Gately Furniture Co. on the back. It is in fair to good condition but the wood had dried a bit over the years so there is a split in the top and parting in the back. But it is intact and has all it's original shelves. As the photos show. There is some ornate workmanship in places, and the drawer has a curved front/top and has a mirror on top. Pretty tassel drawer pulls. I bought this cabinet in Richmond. Virginia, at a 2002 auction of English furniture. This cabinet was made in Liverpool, England. It is made of solid oak. And it looks like a previous owner brushed on a coat of tinted polyurethane over the original finish. There are four drawers, and the face of each drawer drops down, and the drawer pulls out to access the sheet music. Very sturdy ususual piece, hardware needs to be tightened a bit. Pierced brass pulls adorn each drawer. The piece has tiny wear marks consistent with age all over. As can be seen in this picture. This unique brass pull is on the cabinet. Also note the diamond shaped decorative beading on the door. The right side finish has a little more fading than the rest of the piece. The sides are plain. A most uncommon three door carved mahogany sheet music cabinet. The stationary maple interior shelves are numbered on the sides no. 1 though 13. The center cabinet has one adjustable shelf. Probably for music albums, or a bust of a composer. There is a drawer below that compartment, and below that a faux door with carved arrows and flaming torch. The case is on casters. Up for sale is a Victorian Sheet Music Cabinet. It has 6 drawers. It does not have any markings on it so I do not know the age or the maker. It has a few scratches on it. The right leg was slightly repaired. We did not notice it until we had someone look at it for us. The 6th picture shows the left side and the 7th picture shows the right side. I am showing you both to show that you really don't notice it. If you look at the picture right aside of where the swirling starts is a line. That is where it is cracked. From our life-long collection of treasures we are selling a gorgeous French music cabinet in Gilted Gold with Gold gesso details. Some applied pieces are missing) We have enjoyed it as is. There is a landscape hand painting on the top that is barely visible. The three sides bordering the top are decorated with Gold gesso French bows and flowers. The Bombe’ front has a Wondrous Hand Painting of a woman seated playing a Harp while the young girl dances in an outdoor setting. The four corners are a tubular shape and they are entwined with gold gesso very decorative flowers. Each side has a Hand painted still-life of Antique musical instruments. Front and side Art is in GOOD condition. The front has a small apron also decorated with gold gesso. The workmanship on this piece is wonderful and we believe it to be Old French. I cannot find any signatures on the paintings. The small size lends it to be used in many spaces for instance as a side table in the bedroom or perhaps in the guest bathroom for necessaries.
