I hauled this out of the basement of an old home, and it is showing some age ... morewear, most notably with a couple slices out of drawer faces. There is slight pull away of the dovetailing on the bottom, but I think you could probably carefully tap it back into place. The previous owner did a very slap-up job of putting a dark stain on it, so the finish is somewhat inconsistent, you can see the oak in places inside, and there are faint watermarks on top, but I honestly love the look and character of this piece, and it's completely solid and functional. All four metal sliders are still inside, though they are a little stiff/rusty. Measures about 16" x 13 1/2" x 9 1/2".

Vintage Wooden Card Catalog-2 Drawer Wood Library Index File-Dovetail Drawers
Up for auction is an excellent vintage wooden two drawer card catalog. This piece measures 16 1/2 x 15 7/8 x 6 5/8" and features two drawers with dovetail detail. This is a vintage piece. So it does show sign of past use, including scratches, scrapes, and dings on the surfaces. At some point, it looks as though the original drawer pulls were replaced with metal knobs, which you can see in the photographs. The drawers still have the metal card catalog framework inside, and I can move the framework back and forth from the bottom. I have not cleaned or polished this piece, but I would imagine that it would look even better with a little care. Please view the photos carefully, as they best describe the condition of the item being sold.

Up for auction is this Remington Rand library bureau div. index card catalog file. It's dovetailed design makes for an incredibly solid box and sturdy drawers. This is quarter-sawn Oak(not tiger oak) and is beautiful. The brass plaque on the side appears to have been affixed the the Army corp. at some point. Brass pulls and I.D. tag window for each drawer at in tact. I do not have any of the metal brackets/holders for the inside. What is pictured is what you will receive. Globe Wernicke index card catalog file. It's quartered oak construction makes for an incredibly solid box and sturdy drawers. Measures approximately 16" Wide x 20" Long x 7 3/4" High. Hi: For your consideration here is a nice vintage or antique oak Globe Wernicke 2 drawer card file! Measures about 16 1/2" front to back. 16" wide, and 6 5/8" tall. The label holders/pulls are brass with a nice patina. Steel/metal green painted drawers both have the original sliders. File is in good condition with variable wood grain on all sides and between the two drawers. Top(2nd photo) has seen a lot of use with dark marks, a couple nicks/small gouges, and a few shallow stress splits in the top left(facing) corner. Drawers have some light rust and missing some paint as shown in the last four photos. All four metal drawer runners on the inside top are intact. Small red and white label inside reads'City Light CW926' Please note that this file has been cleaned with'Finish Feeder' a high quality beeswax preservative ... moreand wood conditioner. We normally do not mess with the'as-found' of antiques but the previous owner had applied a dark oil to the file and it was a mess. A slight oily residue remains. A nice solid old Wernicke file! This is an antique oak card catalog. Made around 1930S. It was made by the company"GLOBE" globe label and brass name plates and has the original brass tag and drawer pulls. It is in good original condition and drawers work as should. Both card supports are still present in the drawers and work well. This card file holds 3" by 5" index cards. This is a really well made file, with good construction all around. Please look at the photos. The finish is darker than the photos. Milwaukee" I believe the finish is original. There are some stains on the topside but they actually don't detract from the overall appearance of the file cabinet. The brass hardware is complete and original. This must have been a quality piece as even the insides of the drawers are nicely finished. The drawer interiors are complete with all the hardware also. The oak"push-up" pieces for moving the cards forward and back are working but slide a bit hard. The cabinet case measures 13.25" wide. 14.25" deep, and 5.75" high. The overall depth is 15" counting ... morethe brass hardware.

ANTIQUE OAK LIBRARY BUREAU 2 DRAWER INDEX CARD FILE CABINET VINTAGE COLE 3 X 5
This auction is for an old oak 2 drawer 3 X 5 index card file. It is made by COLE STEEL EQUIPMENT CO. NY. USA. It measures 18" long, 14" wide and 6" high. There is a tight split in the top of the cabinet which is still secure. There is a few stains on the finish. The drawers slide smoothly. One metal frame rail on the bottom of the drawer, probably part of a system used to compress the index cards when the drawer in not full, is missing. Ple ase see photo's and email with any questions. Antique Tiger Oak Yawman & Erbe Index Card File Cabinet 2 Drawer
Here is a very nice Yawman& Erbe 2 drawer card file cabinet. Inside drawer measures 5 1/4" wide and 3 1/2" tall. Overall dimensions are 13" wide. 15 1/4" long and 5" tall. It is in very good condition but one card slide is missing as seen in the last photo.

1920's Oak 2 Drawer Vertical Index Card Filing Cabinet Remington Rand Lock & Key
Here is a very attractive Two(2) Drawer Index Card Filing Cabinet manufactured by the Remington Rand Corporation. Library Bureau Divsion. This piece dates from the 1920's, possibly a little older or early 1930's. It has a Vertical Profile small card file cabinet. Which is a less common that the more promient horizontally oriented 2- 3- and 4-drawer index card, or library card cabinet. This holds a card about 6" x 4" The cabinet is made of solid Quarter Sawn Oak, which is very beautiful and has taken on a nice, mellow Golden Oak patina. The exterior hardware is solid brass. Except for the" Remington Rand" tag. Or name plate, which appears to be solid Bronze. The tag is attached to the top front edge of the cabinet body and is a very attractive piece of embossed advertising itself. The drawers are interchangable. ... moreThe cabinet comes with its original Brass Locks and Key; they lock easily and smoothly. The key itself appears to be made of iron. The locks are made by Yale Lock Company. The cabinet measures 8" x 15 3/4" x 10 3/4" It weighs approximately 13 pounds. The drawers slide easily. The interior telescoping mechanism that packs the index cards front to back is probably made of steel. There is no rust associated with any ferous hardware. The top oak plate is uniquely joined to the side pieces by means of dovetails. Like the drawers of a well crafted cabinet. There is no smell associtated with this cabinet. I oiled it with Milsek. A hi-quality wood oil before photographing. The cabinet is in very good to excellent condition- please see the Condition Section where I go into detail as to condition. This cabinet is designed with utilitarian, yet stylish lines characteristic of Commercial Office Furniture of the early 20th Century. A nice piece to add to a collecction. You are bidding on the pictured Antique Oak Library Bureau Sole Makers 2 Drawer Index Card File Cabinet. It is in Good overall condition with average signs of wear and it has dovetail corners. I noticed a small chip in the wood on the front top left corner. See pictures. Measures 8" wide x 11" tall x 16" deep and weighs 12.7 pounds.
