This antique wooden cabinet has 6 drawers. Each of the drawers has a card-catalog style drawer pull and tag frame. Each of the drawers measures 11.5" L x 3.75" W x 3" T on the inside. The entire cabinet measures 10.75" W x 14.5" D x 14.5" T. It looks as though these were two separate cabinets at one point that were later joined. The condition is a bit rough on this item. But we've done some minor repairs to the chipping veneer. There are significant paint spatters on one side and a few elsewhere here and there. This would make a great jewelry box or keepsake cabinet. Item is in fair condition with minor surface scratches. Finger joint construction. Back finger joint had lid bracket pulled out and is reflected in picture. Lid has a split next to finger joint damage. Look at picture. Their is damage to it. I had this in my vintage office for display and worked very well as the damage is hidden. Up for auction is an excellent vintage wooden two drawer card catalog. This piece measures 16 1/2 x 15 7/8 x 6 5/8" and features two drawers with dovetail detail. This is a vintage piece. So it does show sign of past use, including scratches, scrapes, and dings on the surfaces. At some point, it looks as though the original drawer pulls were replaced with metal knobs, which you can see in the photographs. The drawers still have the metal card catalog framework inside, and I can move the framework back and forth from the bottom. I have not cleaned or polished this piece, but I would imagine that it would look even better with a little care. The construction is very nice with dove tail joints and is still in good shape as far as the stability. Each drawer has a card hold the works to keep them from falling back if the drawer isn't full. Measures 13x13 1/2 x 9 inches. It could use some attention like a refinish. I will leave that up to the new owner. It does not have a maker but does have four capital letters on the left upper corner(FBVE) which I believe it stands for Federal Board Of Vocational Education. And to the right the numbers 2- 1006. It is made of wood and appears to have some light water damage on the bottom. All four drawers open and close without a problem. It also appears to have all its original hardware. 1940s Vintage "Weis" Wood Library Index Card Catalog Industrial Cabinet File
This antique"Weis" index card catalog file cabinet measures 19-1/4 inches wide. 15" deep, and 14-1/2" tall. Modular construction, it has a top half and a bottom half, with two drawers per section. The drawer fronts are made of wood, not oak, fine grain hardwood such as ash or maybe poplar, and is painted olive drab green. The sides and back are made of a thin sheet material, perhaps plywood or masonite. Please note the original Weis decal located on the top of the cabinet. The drawer pulls are made of metal, probably steel, but I didn't check. This type of cabinet is great for index card storage, of course, but I have others like it that make great'small parts storage' for my workshop. The catalog was made to hold standard 3" by 5" index cards with holes in them. A rod inserts through the hole in the cards to hold them in place. Antique dark brown wood card catalog. 60 drawers Beautiful wood antique card catalog on legs with 60 drawers. Was repurposed to hold screws etc. for a workshop. I am not sure what kind of wood this is but I think it may be oak. I have included a picture of one of the slide-out drawers as well. Very cool. Wow! What a great set This is going to look awesome and work great in your home weather in the kitchen. Washroom, office, Truly a piece of OSU history or just a lovely item to have in your home as this item is marked with an OSU metal plate on the smaller one and was used in a local Columbus home for recipes. The smaller one is also marked Maceys however they were both together and are of the same design wood etc It does show some signs of wear and tear but is still in fully functional condition. There are some scratches and the veneer located on the back is a little loose. Great Vintage 1920's Shaw Walker oak wood card file catalog cabinet storage with 6 drawers- has dovetail corners- metal drawer pulls with label holders- the drawers open nicely and have a moving divider in each drawer- the oak wood is aged with a great patina to it. Very industrial. Would look great just about anywhere from a trendy loft apartment to a primitive-style home. And it's useful. Too!
