Lets not forget the bob Evans tin can. It is GREAT. This is 70" tall, 47 1/2" wide. 28" front to back. The tambour roll is 13" tall, 22 1/4" wide, all doors in the top section are 11 1/4" wide, and are 18 1/4" and 35 1/4" tall. In the base the right hand drawers are all 10 1/4" wide. 21" front to back. They have depths of 2 3/4" 4, and 8 3/4" deep. Behind the two doors you will find. Two original wire baskets for lids or pots and pans. Also two original pull out shelves. These shelves are usually missing. Behind the large left door in the top section. The pie making surface is enamel and pulls out to create a biiger rolling surface. There are 3 drawers under the cupboards then the enamel work surface. 2 drawers and a tin bread drawer with 2 cupbaords on the bottom. Vintage Hoosier Cabinet Slide Out Flour Bin & bracket
Slide Out Flour Bin This is a slide/ pull out flour bin for a" Hoosier" style cabinet. Going by the bracket I would guess this was originaly for a metal Youngstown cabinet. Most of these cabinets are refered to as"Hoosier. Sellers" With out any markings you would have to be a real expert to tell wich one the parts came out of. The best way is to know the measurements of what your looking for. This will fit many diff. cabinets as long as they have room for this size bin. This one has two channels on each side that would let this slide out on the bracket The flour bin measures; 6-1/2" tall including hieght of bracket. Actual bin is 10-1/8" wide, 10-1/8" front to back, mounting bracket is 11" wide x 12" deep. This is in useable condition. This has surface rust. Inside of bin is about same cond. as ... moreoutside. Nice sifter for your hoosier cabinet. Not sure what kind of cabinet this fits. It measures app. 10 1/2" across. 9 1/2" deep and 17 1/2" from the highest point to the bottom of the sifter. The bail pull-out handle, and most importantly, the slide-plate for controlling the flow out of the chute. This slide-out plate is complete with it's stop tab. The bin measures 12" wide and 9" deep. Sale fail. So back up for auction: This flour sifter was installed in the kitchen of our 1911 French farmhouse. We are re-modeling and did not find a place for it. Good, working condition. Easy to install. Other than wear to original paint, I do not see any dings or damage of any kind. The sifter is 10 3/4 inches wide, 10 3/4 inches tall and 9 5/8 inches deep. It slides out to have access to the lid for refilling. Very fun addition to an antique kitchen. I hated to see it go.

He enlisted in 1945 during WWII. He served during 3 wars- WWII. Korean War, and VIETNAM WAR. He retired at Ft. Benning, GA on February 6, 1973 after 28 years of service. He was retired for 23 years when he died on Feb 13. 1996 at the ago of 86. These items were purchased at auction. Were neatly stored by his heirs, and not touched or used for almost 30 years. Great to restore; repurpose, This item is unique and rare. As is sale no refunds. History- Hoosier cabinets were manufactured between the 1890's and the 1920's and seemingly come in many configurations. Common features include a retractable counter top which was usually enamel. A built in flour sifter, a bread storage drawer and several cabinets and drawers for storage. They were popular because in that age, kitchens did not have built in cabinets and storage and the Hoosier cabinet filled that need. There is no set pattern for the drawer and cabinet configurations. Typically there's a space with a glass door for showing off your pretty pieces while the rest of the cabinet is completely utilitarian. Usually the enamel counter has a painted rim, usually in red or dark blue/black. I have been told that the original color was red. Drawers and cabinet space were usually equipped with racks and hooks. The cabinets themselves are not flashy or fancy. They were meant for the kitchen and not meant to be a show piece.

Vintage Hoosier style cabinet flour bin and sifter with brackets and springs
This vintage flour bin and sifter has seen many years of gentle use. And still has many years of use left. Based on other listings I’ve seen, it may have originally belonged in a Hoosier-style cabinet but actually came out of my kitchen where it had been installed in a stationary cabinet. The unit has a tin body with a glass front and measures roughly 28 inches tall x 13 inches wide by 9.5 inches deep. It still has its original tin lid. Springs, brackets, sifter screen and mechanism. It is clean on the inside, with only some surface rust on the outside. There is some inside metal discoloration but this is not rust. Time to give it a home with someone who knows how to bake!
