Original SELLERS Kitchen Cabinet Sugar- Grain- or Flour Bin. Hard item to find. These were normally found in the 48" cabinets in the lower right hand corner of the top. Also sometimes found in the wider Wilson Kitchen Cabinets. This is a"tilt-out" bin(see photo 3) And is 13" high, 10" wide, and 9" deep. Overall it is in very good condition. Paint has been cleaned off of it. Outside is very good, inside has a little surface rust that still needs some cleanup. NO RUST THROUGH spots. No dents or damage. HOOSIER STYLE CABINET - EARLY 1900's SELLERS KITCHEN ORIG ETCHED GLASS INDIANA
This Sellers Hoosier style cabinet was manufactured in Indiana most likely between 1913-1933. I found a picture in Philip D. Kennedy's Hoosier Cabinets book(page 79) which is this cabinet exactly. Stating that it is a 1913(which would make it 100 years old! The book says that the cabinet in the picture is 52" wide whereas this cabinet is 56" wide not allowing for the metal brackets that hold the counter. It has been here in the mountains of New Mexico for 25+ years. Well cared for and maintained. The previous owners(good friends of ours) told us that it was a green color at one time and was restored to it's original finish. There is a small amount of evidence that it was another color and I have pictures I can send to a serious inquirer. Inside the large three section drawer there are two spots- I didn't even know about ... morethem until I started taking pictures. You don't notice them. I believe I took about 25 pictures and chose 12. More are available should you have any questions. The entire cabinet unit(comes apart into 2 parts) is in wonderful condition! We hate to part with it but it won't fit in our next house. There isn't a wall it will fit on. I have attached 12 photos. Experimenting without flash and some with flash. I had the misfortune of choosing an overcast day to take the pix so flash was necessary at times. I prefer natural light for furniture as it captures a more accurate color. Some of the interior pictures(the flour bin and sifter. For example) are with flash. Vintage Sellers Kitchen Cabinet latch S hardware and hinges
I bought these with some other things at a local estate sale. I believe these are from a Sellers kitchen cupboard. I don't know about the hinges. But they were together and might be for the same cupboard. The hinges are marked underneath NL Co. Rockford. One of the 3 that go the same way is loose and but still works. The single one has something dripped- maybe paint. I have not tried to remove it. One of the hinges is pinned with a nail. The biggest hinges don't have the same bends. Please ask I'll try to answer. Painted Sellers cabinet with caramel slag glass in the top doors. This cabinet is oak underneath the paint. Some later cabinets came from the factory painted. This one was oak and painted later. It has the original tambour roll. There is a drawer above the roll. It needs some hardware. Including the hinges and latch on the base. The long sifter door need a hinge, as well as latches. I am including one"S" latch. All the hardware is available online. There are no warped panels. Measurements are: 40" W 62" H 28" D. Original porcelain top with 2 pull out drawers. Manufactured in Elwood, Indiana, USA! As sharp and original as the day it was new: You can scour off the kitchen grime. We have left it alone lest we polish off its venerable patina and honest wear. All the exterior and interior paint. Decorative graphics, enameled surfaces, tambour door, hardware, hinges, exterior and interior latches, drawer pulls, casters, inserts, labels, posters and stenciling are entirely original and unaltered. Unpainted interior and back surfaces are original and unaltered, too. Cabinet measures approx. 71” tall. 47” wide, 13” deep at the upper cabinet, and 28” deep at the lower chest. I would guess it to be hard to find another oversize top if you have a base. Pictures show it well. All original- one small crack in the glass- corner. Roll does not work. This double Sellers cabinet has been in use in my home for many years. It is double sized(71" H X 28" D X 48"W) Comes with a large flour bin. Sugar jar and cracker bin. The roll down section in the middle will slide but it need a new cloth backing. There is a pull out cutting board. The bottom section has 2 smaller drawers and under them are 2 other drawers one of which is a bread box. The bread box is missing the lid. Also there is a larger section for storage. This larger section has 1 large door which replaced 2 smaller origional ones. There is a slide out board for easier access to your items. This cabinet makes a great space to do any baking projects. It is in original condition with metal/tin working top and design. It does not appear to have been altered in any way. It is in E(8) condition intact with some enamel peeling/loss(see photos) I don't know if this was a child's version or a salesman sample. It is 41" tall x 23 1/2" wide x 13 3/4" deep.
