Vintage 1 Drawer Antique Oak Library Bureau File Card Catalog Index Yawman Erbe
This listing is for a nice vintage cabinet by the Yawman and Erbe It is a one-drawer example. With the original brass drawer pull, and brass tag that reads"Y and E" It has the original adjustable sliding card holder in the drawer. Everything operates smoothly, the back however is missing(see picture) and there is some paint splatter on the front. These files were in common use in the early part of the 20th century in libraries, schools, and offices and were built to last. This example has wonderful quartersawn oak wood grain patterns and quality dovetailed construction with a few small cracks on the sides from over the years, but does not affect the overall condition. The dimensions of this file are approx. 7.5" wide by 16" deep by 10.5" tall.quite a bit taller than a standard card catalog. Really nice antique 4 drawer Maple wood library card catalog has great looks to be hand done dovetailing. The cabinet is 9 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep and weighs 27 pds. The drawers hold 3 x 5 cards. In good condition other than the rods that go in the bottom of the drawers are gone in the drawers but that makes it nice that the standard 3 x 5 card will fit it and there are some scratches. Tape residue, few small hairlines on the top, rubs, stains, average wear for its age. Did not find a manufacturers' name on this but in one of the drawers were some numbers as you can see in picture 8. These cabinets are good for a lot of things and look great. Hi. Up for your consideration is a Vintage Globe Wer. Co. library catalog file cabinet/box. I believe it is made out of Tiger Oak. All the joints are dovetailed. This was an estate find. I have done nothing to it-no polish or Old English. It is a beautiful piece of History and would make a wonderful addition to someone's personal library! All the drawers are made to fix 3"x5" index cards and they all are still in fine working condition. On the top of the cabinet, at the far back edge it says'GLOBE WER.CO#9428-I-IAA-19-15-30-and I believe) $16.20" Two of us looked at it and we both think it is a dollar sign in front of the 16.20. It is a 4 drawer cabinet that has the original slide adjusters in each drawer. It is dovetailed made as pictured. The cabinet measures 19 ¾” x 16” and 13 ¾” tall. It is in great shape as pictured. It is solid oak except for the back which is a veneer. There are some chips in the back veneer as pictured… nothing big. On one side. The wood has split, but this a minor cosmetic issue as the joints remain solid. There is an ERIE sticker on top, and we think it is the Erie Railroad. As you can see from the pictures the piece could use a little love but it is extremely solid- the drawers open and shut as designed and the tab to support the index cards will move back and forth as supposed to. ANTIQUE vintage Weis index. FINGER JOINT WOOD LIBRARY POST FILE CARD CATALOG BOX
Item is in fair condition with minor surface scratches. Finger joint construction. Back finger joint had lid bracket pulled out and is reflected in picture. Lid has a split next to finger joint damage. Look at picture. Their is damage to it. I had this in my vintage office for display and worked very well as the damage is hidden. Someone put a nail for a hinge pin as noted in picture. Still retains the nice Weis logo. 13 inches long by 5 3/4 inches wide by 4 3/8 inches in height. Vintage Wooden Card Catalog-2 Drawer Wood Library Index File-Dovetail Drawers
Up for auction is an excellent vintage wooden two drawer card catalog. This piece measures 16 1/2 x 15 7/8 x 6 5/8" and features two drawers with dovetail detail. This is a vintage piece. So it does show sign of past use, including scratches, scrapes, and dings on the surfaces. At some point, it looks as though the original drawer pulls were replaced with metal knobs, which you can see in the photographs. The drawers still have the metal card catalog framework inside, and I can move the framework back and forth from the bottom. I have not cleaned or polished this piece, but I would imagine that it would look even better with a little care. Please view the photos carefully, as they best describe the condition of the item being sold.

Here is a really nice antique tiger oak library Index 4 drawer Card Catalog made by Amberg File& Index. Genuine. Circa early 1900's. Nice aged patina. Quarter sawn oak construction with dovetailed drawers. I am not sure all are the original drawer pulls-the bottom 2 are the same, but the other 2 are different. All 4 drawers have label holders. Drawers open and close smoothly. The original block of wood inside the drawer remains in all 4 drawers. It measures approx. 15 1/2 inches x 15.5 inches and 11.75 tall. Nice, well built. Weighs about 26 lbs. Shows ordinary wear, dings, markings etc. Very good overall condition. There is a half torn off label with a zip code from Rittman, Ohio on the side. Very nice collectible!

1940s Vintage "Weis" Wood Library Index Card Catalog Industrial Cabinet File
This antique"Weis" index card catalog file cabinet measures 19-1/4 inches wide. 15" deep, and 14-1/2" tall. Modular construction, it has a top half and a bottom half, with two drawers per section. The drawer fronts are made of wood, not oak, fine grain hardwood such as ash or maybe poplar, and is painted olive drab green. The sides and back are made of a thin sheet material, perhaps plywood or masonite. Please note the original Weis decal located on the top of the cabinet. The drawer pulls are made of metal, probably steel, but I didn't check. This type of cabinet is great for index card storage, of course, but I have others like it that make great'small parts storage' for my workshop. It is in very nice to excellent condition. This is about as nice as they get. a beautiful piece worthy of use and/or display just about anywhere. I don’t know the manufacturer(Globe. Remington Rand, Gaylord Brothers. Sole Makers? but the craftsmanship of this piece is superb. For example: the drawers are all wood(no plastic here) with solid oak fronts the Dovetailing on the front of the drawersis intricate and precise with 4 dovetails instead of the typical 2 or 3. There is also dovetailing along each side of the top. see pics) All the drawers and slots are numbered and were individually fitted. The brass pulls are nice originals and are ... morethe style that have 4 mounting screws also indicative of the higher end pieces instead of the typical 2. They are showing a bit of wear as is typical for a piece this age. The metal card sliders(see pic) are all present. The tongue and groove construction on the backs of the drawers also indicates excellent craftsmanship with 6 detailed notches. Vintage Card Catalog This is vintage 6-drawer card catalog. It is composed of oak wood with a medium-tone finish. The bottom of the catalog is made of pressed board. The catalog was made to hold standard 3" by 5" index cards with holes in them. A rod inserts through the hole in the cards to hold them in place. The rods are released when a small amount of pressure is applied to the bottom of the knob as it is pulled outward. Each drawer is approximately 1/4 full of blank index cards. Purchased from old building auction. I will do my best to describe. 12 drawers. Oak outer, metal inner all marked Globe. This is 2 pieces stacked, 6 drawers each. This will need some restoration. There is a laminate piece that was placed on the top. There are 2 drilled holes in the top. Faded paint? markings throughout. One drawer pull is split, there is one pull missing. Wheels were attached on the bottom with ply wood, can be removed. This stands 26.6" tall minus the wheels and ply wood. 33" in width. Very heavy. This collectible 2 drawer card catalog file may have been used in a library. It is in pretty good condition. it is light oak and has dovetail on one drawer. The other drawer was replaced with a drawer that is wood on the outside and plastic on the inside. you can't tell any difference unless you open the drawer. there are little brass pulls on the drawers. this box measures about 13 1/2 wide. 17" long, and 5 1/4 high. This box was initially part of a stacking card file unit. Since I didn’t have the top section. I decided to add a piece of solid walnut to the top. ANTIQUE 2-DRAWER OAK FILE CABINET ~ Made by WEIS. Excellent condition! Original hardware! Original Weis manufacturer stenciled label! This cabinet has been nicely refinished. It is a well-made piece which has been well cared for. The cabinet case measures 18" deep and 12 1/2" high and 11 1/4" wide. The hardware and drawer fronts add about another inch making it about 19" deep overall. The inside drawer measurements are 4 5/8" high x 9 1/4" wide. Both drawers are complete with their original metal push-up pieces. The only issue is there are some tiny paint splatters on the top side and the backside from a careless painter. They are very tiny but being mentioned for accuracy.

This is an antique oak card catalog. Made around 1930S. It was made by the company"GLOBE" globe label and brass name plates and has the original brass tag and drawer pulls. It is in good original condition and drawers work as should. Both card supports are still present in the drawers and work well. This card file holds 3" by 5" index cards. This is a really well made file, with good construction all around. Please look at the photos. The finish is darker than the photos. The outside dimensions are 7 1/2" inches wide by 17" inches deep by 9 1/2" inches tall, so this is the great size to sit on a desk or kitchen counter top.

Thanks for checking out our listing! Offered here is a gorgeous. Early Yawman& Erbe Manufacturing Co. antique floor model library or office twenty five drawer index file cabinet or card catalog. This hard-to-find model has some great things going for it.it is high quality, large with 25 drawers, free standing and an early model! In addition, t his unusual piece is a rare stacking model.the top and. Each consecutive layer of drawers, lift off all the way to the base. A total of 7 pieces including top, base and five rows of drawers(5 drawers each) Solid wood(sorry but I'm unsure what kind.possibly Walnut as it is quite dark and not as dense as Oak) with beautiful grain and dark finish. Both the top and base feature lovely. Wide moldings that are deeper than the actual drawers, creating a nice decorative accent not normally seen on cabinets ... morelike this. There is also a simple, decorative molding that runs the height of the cabinet on each side of the drawer rows. All original, untouched finish with the exception of the bottom, left hand drawer front which someone has stripped/begun to refinish. this isn't very noticeable. However, if you are looking to refinish the entire piece, it's a good sign of what's beneath because this drawer looks great! Each of the drawers has a solid wood front, dovetailed into secondary solid wood sides. All of the hooked handles/label holders on drawer fronts are original, solid copper with terrific patina(please note that one of these on the bottom left corner has been refinished/polished as mentioned above) Each of the drawer fronts on the bottom row features a small, copper tab with the company logo, Y& E Co. embossed on it. It appears that perhaps these were also originally present on the drawers just above but now there are just small pre-cut holes. Drawers slide smooth, one drawer has been glued, and one drawer has rebuilt structure. Good thing is these drawers can be purchased separately on eBay. You are bidding on the pictured Antique Oak Library Bureau Sole Makers 2 Drawer Index Card File Cabinet. It is in Good overall condition with average signs of wear and it has dovetail corners. I noticed a small chip in the wood on the front top left corner. See pictures. Measures 8" wide x 11" tall x 16" deep and weighs 12.7 pounds.
