Miniature China cabinet made in Taiwan Republic of China. This was My Grandmother's she gave it to me in 1965 and it had been her house for along time before that. Antique Oak Bow Front China Curio Display Cabinet 4 Shelves
Very nice antique bow front china cabinet. It is made of oak and has 4 shelves. It is in good condition with some imperfections-it has a small hole that was cut out of the back and patched with veneer-you can't see it from the front as the bottom shelf is right in front of it. There is a slight separation of the wood on the top as seen in picture. The side pieces are glass; however. The door has a piece of Lexan in it-this was placed because curved glass is very expensive. Lexan is a very tough polycarbonate that is barely distinguishable from glass-you really cannot tell the difference when you look at it. I was told it is easy to take care of but not to use paper towels or ammonia on it. Of course, you could always replace it with glass if you didn't like it. It has a key, but it doesn't lock. Overall, these imperfections are ... morenot that noticeable-I just like to be up front and point everything out. Bow front china cabinet, 1900-1950, dark wood & glass
This bow-front china cabinet is made of a dark wood with a curved glass front door that. If I'm not mistaken, still has the key for the lock. As you can(hopefully) see from the pictures, it has a small decorative display platform that sits at the top edge of the narrow oval mirror that tops the cabinet. All of the woodwork is in very good shape, except for right at the front edge of that platform, where some of the veneer has peeled off(the light spot in the last picture) I've been told by an antiques expert that it would not be difficult to get that repaired, and so it shouldn't affect the value too much. Obviously, I couldn't get to the back side of the cabinet, but given the shape of everything else, including the contents, and knowing the couple that owns it(I'm selling it for friends) there is every reason to believe ... morethat it's in just as good a shape as the front. Original 1920's-1930's Drexel Heritage china hutch breakfront cabinet bought by my grandparents when they were married. Original bowed glass in the center door. Sides don't open. Has original key. Fixed shelves in the buffet part and dovetailed drawers. All high quality solid woods and mahogany veneers; what's expected from Drexel at this time period. A professional upholsterer added cream colored Ultrasuede and drapery trim to the back to add some lightness so darker items displayed could be seen better and not disappear into the background. Tacked around the edge only. Not completely glued across the whole back. Normal wear and tear for something of this age. Original wheels on the bottom to move around easily.
