You get a coffee table AND the mother of all storage cabinets! BEAUTIFUL PIECE made by GAYLORD BROS. INC as a library card catalog. Blond wood. Most likely maple, but not positive. All 12 drawers are dovetailed and glide smoothly. They all have thick, brass finger pulls with label holders. Heavy, solid construction(weighing 45LBS) with a very nice patina. It measures approx. 20 1/8 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 17 1/8 inches tall. Inside of drawer measures 14 11/16 inches long, 5 3/16 wide, and 3 1/2 tall. It is a Globe Wernicke four drawer library card file cabinet. It is made out of quarter sawn oak and appears to have the original finish. The cabinet is 9 1/4" tall x 17" deep x 14" wide. It weighs almost 30 pounds. Overall. The cabinet appears to be in very good used condition. One of the drawer fronts has been repaired. The cabinet has a slight front to back wobble. Wood Library 3x5" Index Card 4 Drawer File Cabinet
Offered as a'buy it now is this 4 drawer 3" x 5" file cabinet manufactured by Shaw Walker. The overall dimensions are 14" wide x 15" deep x 9-1/2" height. There is a crack on one side which is the result of a slight warp in a panel. It has been refinished and the color is very close to original. The japonned hardware is original. The bottom left hand drawer face has been repaired also. All of the interior hardware works as it should. The felt pads cover what was hardware for some sort of interior block or divider. 1940s Vintage "Weis" Wood Library Index Card Catalog Industrial Cabinet File
This antique"Weis" index card catalog file cabinet measures 19-1/4 inches wide. 15" deep, and 14-1/2" tall. Modular construction, it has a top half and a bottom half, with two drawers per section. The drawer fronts are made of wood, not oak, fine grain hardwood such as ash or maybe poplar, and is painted olive drab green. The sides and back are made of a thin sheet material, perhaps plywood or masonite. Please note the original Weis decal located on the top of the cabinet. The drawer pulls are made of metal, probably steel, but I didn't check. This type of cabinet is great for index card storage, of course, but I have others like it that make great'small parts storage' for my workshop. Relisted with a Lower"Buy It Now" and Reserve. Here we have a stunning 6 Drawer Library File Card Catalog Cabinet in Beautiful golden Oak. This came from a Private Library in a California estate. It is in very nice to excellent condition. This is about as nice as they get. a beautiful piece worthy of use and/or display just about anywhere. I don’t know the manufacturer(Globe. Remington Rand, Gaylord Brothers. Sole Makers? but the craftsmanship of this piece is superb. For example: the drawers are all wood(no plastic here) with solid oak fronts the Dovetailing on the front of the drawersis intricate and precise with 4 dovetails instead of the typical 2 or 3. There is also dovetailing along each side of the top. see pics) All the drawers and slots are numbered and were individually fitted. The brass pulls are nice originals and are ... morethe style that have 4 mounting screws also indicative of the higher end pieces instead of the typical 2. They are showing a bit of wear as is typical for a piece this age. The metal card sliders(see pic) are all present. The tongue and groove construction on the backs of the drawers also indicates excellent craftsmanship with 6 detailed notches. There are 2 tiny tack nails missing from the metal drawer pulls. No key but the complete original locking mechanism is intact in back of the bottom right drawer. Purchased from old building auction. I will do my best to describe. 12 drawers. Oak outer, metal inner all marked Globe. This is 2 pieces stacked, 6 drawers each. This will need some restoration. There is a laminate piece that was placed on the top. There are 2 drilled holes in the top. Faded paint? markings throughout. One drawer pull is split, there is one pull missing. Wheels were attached on the bottom with ply wood, can be removed. This stands 26.6" tall minus the wheels and ply wood. 33" in width. Very heavy. Here is a great vintage oak Library Bureau Sole Makers 4 drawer file with a great back panel. The file is 12 1/4 inches wide. 8 1/4 inches tall and 13 1/4 inches deep. 3 on the plates were the knobs screw in are marked Pat'D Mar 15, 92. The file is dovetailed. Antique Quarter Sawn Oak 4 Drawer Index Card File Cabinet Offered today for your review is a Great 4 drawer antique oak file cabinet. Made by the Library Bureau Sole Makers Company. This is crafted of quarter sawn Oak and is in good condition considering its age…beautiful wood grain patterns. And high quality dovetailed construction as seen in the photos. The drawers hold 3" by 5" index cards or photos. The file has original brass pulls, and the manufacturers emblem is brass as well that reads: Library Bureau Sole Makers. The Outer measurements are: 13 1/8” Wide x 17 3/8” Deep x 8 3/4” High. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. As the cabinet is very clean and ready to serve you for another 100+ years! This File Cabinet is deserving of a place in any fine home or office. Please ask questions. They are always welcomed and encouraged ... moreprior to bidding. This is a very old piece of furniture and it is not perfect. But it is an antique piece and I am sure has an amazing history. It does have a lot scratches and scuffs and there is a white mark on the left side of it. Then on top of the piece one side is darker. The back of the piece there is a pretty big deep scratch. The four drawers do not have the same color, I am not for sure if it is different wood or just a different finish, but they are not the same color. The joints might not be as tight as they once were, but once again this is a very old piece. I would consider this piece to be very clean. The bottom is not as smooth finished as the rest of the cabinet and it is full of scratches and dings. Some type of oil or finish has been applied to it and the inside of the box and the bottom of the drawers does not have the oil applied to it. I have made a video at the bottom of the page so you can see how the drawers open and close. Also two of the four drawers has a small hole on the front of them and they all have scratches and dings.

The wood is in good condition- there is one area that is lighter but the wood is not missing. The piece can be enjoyed as is or is ready for your restoration.
