Up for auction is a Farmhouse Hoosier cabinet tin flour bin sifter with original'swingout' mounting brackets. The top of the bin flips up for adding flour. The screen. Sifter, and crank are all original and in perfect condition. There is some slight surface rust but it could be easily buffed out. It measures 10.5" deep, 11" wide, and 14" height; the bracket measures 3.75" diameter and is set 13" apart. The bracket can be removed by simple cotter pins. This was in my Father's collection of many. Many things all stored in the attic and barn. It's time to clean out and get ready to move to a smaller place. This is a flour sifter from an antique McDougal Hoosier style kitchen cabinet. It is complete with mounting hardware and would most likely fit any cabinet with these dimensions, 10"wide x 10" deep x 24" high. It measures 11 1/4" wide x 31" high. It is missing the small cap at the bottom of the sifter itself, otherwise it is in very good condition. We also have some other racks, doors and sifter from this same cabinet presently listed. Hoosier cabinet type flour bin w/brackets 11 3/4 w, 10 3/4 d, 15 1/4 t
You may be bidding on this great old flour bin. This is tin or light weight metal I believe. The outside looks great as it has been painted black. However the inside is in rusted shape. I hear people get these sand blasted and they are good as new, but I am no expert. Anyway the measurements are as follows. The bin itself is 11 3/4 wide, 10 3/4 deep, 15 1/4 tall from top of bin to lower bottom spout. The bracket to bracket measurement is 13 1/4. I do not see a maker name on this anywhere, it does have a small white porcelain knob on the handle and the spinning part is in good working order. Please note I only ship in the US. Vintage Hoosier style cabinet flour bin and sifter with brackets and springs
This vintage flour bin and sifter has seen many years of gentle use. And still has many years of use left. Based on other listings I’ve seen, it may have originally belonged in a Hoosier-style cabinet but actually came out of my kitchen where it had been installed in a stationary cabinet. The unit has a tin body with a glass front and measures roughly 28 inches tall x 13 inches wide by 9.5 inches deep. It still has its original tin lid. Springs, brackets, sifter screen and mechanism. It is clean on the inside, with only some surface rust on the outside. There is some inside metal discoloration but this is not rust. Time to give it a home with someone who knows how to bake!
