Ever since the early 1900s the Hoosier cabinet has been one the most favored piece of kitchen furniture ever to exist. You might argue that the kitchen table is the dearest. And if it is, the Hoosier is a very close second. The official Hoosiers were made by the Hoosier Manufacturing Co. of New Castle. Indiana, but models were also crafted by other Indiana companies. Today the term"Hoosier Cabinet" is generically applied to any cabinet that fit's the following description. Approximately 69" tall; 40" wide; 22" deep without working table fully extended. Top left cabinet is a flour bin. While sifter is in the cabinet directly below it. I believe the red stencils to possibly be original(the back of the cabinet has a number and says"red- white" The working space is a heavy wood. The center panel goes up and down, but at this time does not move smoothly. The bottom doors open to a wide open area with an old wire towel hanger( New owner may want to refinish, but does not look bad as it sets. I am offering two sets of these glass windows in SEPARATE listings. These hard to find items will make your restoration of a kitchen cupboard a work of art. They originally came out of free standing wooden kitchen cabinets on the order of Hoosier-style cupboard but not sure if these are specifically"Hoosier" company made. There are no distinguishing maker's marks on them. This auction is for a set of two(2) matching panes of frosted glass. THIS SET measures: 8+15/16ths inches x 13 inches by 1/8 thick glass. The frosted design is in excellent condition. The glass has no cracks or chips beyond a slight roughness along outer edges. Kitchen Cupboard Top Hoosier Top Solid Oak
I have for sale a really nice solid oak kitchen cupboard top. I do not believe this was a Hoosier top per say as there is no place for spices or flour bin. It was meant for dishes as both shelves have the plate groove. The bottom was already gone by the time I purchased this and there is no evidence on the bottom that legs were ever present. I have had this sitting on smaller dressers and small drop leaf tables which both worked and looked good together. In the kitchen the drop leaf created an extra work area and in the dining room a 3 drawer dresser created a china cabinet effect. With the proper supports this could probably be wall mounted if you wanted. The cabinet top. Bottom, sides, shelves and doors are made of solid golden oak boards. No veneer to this piece. I am fairly certain that the back is original and is oak grained as well. ... moreThis cupboard is a great size for a smaller apartment or kitchen. Not so large it would be hard to place it, but not so small that it is not functional. It measures 36 inches(0.91 meters) across the front, 31 1/2 inches(0.8 meters) high and 12 inches(30.48cm) deep. The glass in the doors are 10 inches(25.4cm) by 11 inches(27.9cm) The height of the top and bottom shelves is 8 1/2 inches(21.59cm) and the middle shelf is a generous 11 1/2 inches(29.21cm) in height which gives plenty of room to stand your favorite plates. The knobs of the doors are solid oak as well and have a very intricate design carved into them giving it a splash of art deco to offset the straight heaviness of the cabinet itself. The screw hole on the back of the knob on the right, as you face the cabinet, is slowly striping out and will need attention before long. Some fill them with toothpicks others with wood glue or epoxy. I was not in and out of it that much so it did not bother me much. I just opened the left side first. This sale is for a Hoosier Cupboard. The Hoosier is in very good condition. It has a flour sifter and 3 metal racks/holders attached to the top inside cupboard doors. There is an extendable white enamel table top with blue trim on the base. The inside of the top cupboards are painted white as is the flour sifter. The base of the cupboard has a bottom bread drawer that is lined with tin. There is also a large sliding drawer in bases large cupboard. It comes apart in 2 pieces for easy moving. It did have a Hoosier Indiana Tag however someone painted over it and when it was refinished the tag came off. This is a pick up only item.

Offering for sale is this painted Vintage Oak Hoosier Cabinet in good overall condition. The base measures 32 1/2" tall x 40 1/2" wide x 27 1/2" deep. The top measures 37 1/4" tall x 40 1/2" wide x 11 3/4" deep. The top section detaches easily with a few screws. Take a look at the pictures. The Porcelain shows wear. The slag glass looks in great condition. The roll is complete and in one piece. When I received this cabinet the roll was stuck up inside the key way. When this cabinet sells I will use some paste wax and try to get the roll in sliding condition. There are some small steel brackets that are attached to the widest drawer and the bread drawer top does not look to be original and is not attached. Napanee Hoosier Style Kitchen Cabinet Cupboard Porcelain Top. This is a genuine Napanee Hoosier Cabinet Model J. as stamped on the back. 1925. It is just the( bottom) portion but includes the white porcelain top. The cabinet measures 48" x 27" The white porcelain top has 8 porcelain chips on the edges as you can see from the photos and two tiny flea bites, also on the side. There are 5 drawers. The top left drawer is divided into 3 back sections and 2 front sections. The drawer is 21 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches deep. The top right drawer is one large drawer 21 x 21 1/2 long and 3/3/4" deep. The right middle drawer is 12" wide and 6 1/2" deep. The bottom right drawer is a metal bread box 11" wide for the insert and 12" wide including the wood, 9 1/2 inches deep. This drawer has some damage to the wood at ... morethe top and bottom as you can see from the photos. The 2 big lower drawers each have metal brackets measuring 8 1/2" high and 13 1/2" long. Inside this section, the top shelf sides out and has been replaced. It measures 29" x 21 imches and the space height is 6 3/4" The bottom shelf has a new bottom over the old and measures 10" in height form the shelf above. There are two slide out boards: a pastry board measuring 15 1/2 x 21 3/4 wide with a hand notch undernearth for easy handling. the other is a cutting board 11" x 16" made of 1" stock wood. The back of the cabinet says Porcelain White Model J and has the original shipment tag: Napanee IND 839-M and a partial Railway sticker The veneer is wavey on the bottom back but the cabinet is solid. The cabinet needs slides for the porcelain top. The previous owner had stripped the white paint which is still visible in the edges. Old hardware. A RARE Counter or Cupboard Cabinet with the“Hoosier” spice scoops. I am not an expert in this area. But I think this might be called a“German Hoosier Spice Cabinet” The 9 glass drawer scoops were made by the German Company– Heye Schauenstein Company. This company ~ H Heye Glasfabrik Schauenstein is in Schauenstein. Germany. The Herman Heye glass Factory is well known and was started in the 1800s. it is still a major company and operates glass factories in various European countries plus USA. The Heye Schauenstein Company also made items like these to be used in cosmetic firms. Pharmacies, and in laboratories. These individual glass scoops are highly collectible and scarce ... morethemselves. As you probably know, and generally sell for $50 to $100 each. when you can find one! The glass scoops alone are woth probably almost $500. The sturdy primitive cabinet is made of wood– I see no maker marks. It is 19 ½” long x 11 ½” tall and 7 ½” deep. The scoops– 3 large and 6 small are made of heavy thick pressed glass in the shape of a scoop. The Heye Schauenstein Maker mark is on the bottom with the 3 clover leaf design in a circle as well as the company name. The scoops have a dimpled pattern on the sides and have a pull handle on the front. The small ones measure approximately 4 ¾” long x 2 ¾” wide and 2 ½” tall; the large ones measure 7 ¼” long x 4 ½” wide by 4 ¼” tall. I am not sure exactly how old this is- but VERY old- it is an original and has a great patina! Condition ~ in very good condition. This a vintage enamel top authentic Hoosier brand cabinet cupboard! There is 1 drawer. A pullout cutting board, and the original metal rack on the inside of the door! There is an oval metal plate on the front, it is embossed with the word"Hoosier" paint covered) The original casters are still on the bottom. The enamel top is white. This is a Vintage Wilson Oak Hoosier Kitchen Cabinet. It measures 70" tall x 41" wide x 25 1/2" deep. It is missing the flour sifter. All of the drawers and doors work well. The roll down door needs a little coaxing to go up and down and could use some TLC to make it work well. It has all of the original pulls. Hinges, latches and the original stained glass panels. The sliding pull out enamel tabletop is well worn having lost most of it's shine but only has a few minor chips. Some of the wood veneer has separated as shown in the photos. 1941 OAK HOOSIER Style Kitchen Cabinet NAPANEE Cupboard Roll Front Pick Up Ohio
This oak kitchen cabinet is in good condition. It has the original metal tag on the front. A roll front above the porcelain work area and a metal bread drawer. It needs to be repainted or refinished. The porcelain pull-out work area has a couple of small spots that are only seen if the porcelain is pulled out all the way. It is a NAPANEE brand cabinet made in Indiana on Sept. 23. 1941. It is marked on the back that the original finish was PEARL WHITE OAK. It is 71" high x 40" side x 24" deep at the bottom part. It comes apart for moving. There is the top section. The porcelain part in the middle and the bottom or base section. It does not have legs and sits flat on the floor. A pencil sharpener is attached to the right side. This cabinet may be picked up in Fairhaven which is located in southwest Ohio. It is about 10 or 15 ... moreminutes from Oxford or Camden. This is an Antique Hoosier. It is in very nice condition. See pictures. It measures 42"x25"x67" The metal shelf pulls out for additional work space. This is a nice one! History The Hoosier Manufacturing Co. was incorporated in 1899 with John M. Maring is President. Houses of the period were frequently not equipped with built-in cabinetry. And the lack of storage space in the kitchen became acute. Hoosier adapted an existing furniture piece, the baker's cabinet, which had a similar structure of a table top with some cabinets above it(and frequently flour bins beneath) By rearranging the parts and taking advantage of(then) modern metal working, they were able to produce a well-organized, compact cabinet which answered the home cook's needs for storage and working space. Antique American Hoosier Manufacturing Kitchen Cabinet/Cupboard Early 1900's
Very nice Hoosier Kitchen Cabinet from The Hoosier Manufacturing Co. New Castle, Indiana. Contains the original dispensing bins and card inserts for grocery lists, cookbook holder, spice shelves. Some of the glass knobs are not original, but they match nicely. All but one latch work very well. The latch on the bottom cabinet has a missing pull, but the door stays closed. Please inspect the photos carefully for details. Overall. The cabinet measures 72" high x 48" wide. The base cabinet is 22" deep, and the top cabinet is 11.5" deep. The porcelain coated work surface is in good condition comensurate with is age and has no rust. The top section is easily removed for transport by removing 6 wood screws. This auction is for a lovely country cottage style smaller sized hoosier cabinet/cupboard. Wood unknown. Slide out top which is painted a warm brown, lots of drawers and cupboards, frosted glass inserts on the top of the upper doors. 42" wide, 22.5" deep and extends to 32" when drawer top is extended, 68" tall. 38" from top of hoosier to the painted table top extension. TOP: 2 sections with doors, left has 3 shelves and a small drawer, right has 2 shelves then opens to an area with envelope cubbies and a small drawer, has a pull down multiple slat pull down closure to hide this area. One of the top right doors has a beveled mirror. All upper doors have frosted upper glass inserts with a graceful design. Just above the pull out shelf is a hidden flip up front that hides the ironing board(both my husband and I think ... moreby the shape from the side it must be an ironing board. Our fingers are too big to get it out to display it for pictures but we took as good a picture of this hidden area as we could. This is not a reproduction. This is an AUTHENTIC tin sugar bin for a Hoosier Cabinet style Kitchen Cupboard. It is COMPLETE including the lift-up lid for filling the bin. The bail pull-out handle, and most importantly, the slide-plate for controlling the flow out of the chute. This slide-out plate is complete with it's stop tab. The bin measures 12" wide and 9" deep. Including the runners on each side the width is 12 5/8" The overall height is 12 1/2" This sugar bin is in very good complete working condition. There are some very shallow dents which are more noticeable in the photos than in person. Vintage Hoosier Cabinet/Cupboard Flour Sifter (1900-1915) All Original Works
Sale fail. So back up for auction: This flour sifter was installed in the kitchen of our 1911 French farmhouse. We are re-modeling and did not find a place for it. Good, working condition. Easy to install. Other than wear to original paint, I do not see any dings or damage of any kind. The sifter is 10 3/4 inches wide, 10 3/4 inches tall and 9 5/8 inches deep. It slides out to have access to the lid for refilling. Very fun addition to an antique kitchen. I hated to see it go.
