Brass dooe closures in the eastlake style handle pulls with two brass closure to hold door shut. The two glass shelves are not adjustable-measures 12-1/2" from the base of the inside of the cabinet to the top of the bottom glass shelve as does the second glass shelve. You can place an item on the top glass shelve as tall as 13-1/2" in the middle and 12-1/2" on the sides. The ornate flowers. Some have a flame like center. Globe Wernicke solid oak file boxes card index cabinet pair circa 1900 Ohio
Very nice pair of Globe-Wernicke file boxes from Cincinati. Ohio. They are solid oak; very heavy! Measures 16x 7.25 x5.5" Holds 3 x 5 cards. The spring back card holders work fine; one of the handles on the front is a little marred; maybe melted celluloid plastic? These are circa 1900 and are great accent pieces for an office. Light sratches; also an old wax mark as to who they were sold to long ago. The name can probably be rubbed out. The paper labels are clean and visible when you take the drawers out. Hello. For sale is a 2 drawer Clark's Spool Cabinet from the 1890's to around 1900. It measures 23" left to right) 14 1/2" front to back) and 7 1/2" tall. Weight is about 15-20 lbs. I believe the wood is Walnut, but I'm not completely sure. As the pictures depict, the cabinet itself is in good shape with wear consistent with age. The drawers are clean and function as they should. The Clark's glass has a triangle shaped section missing between the C and the L. It is about 1 inch wide. The pulls are small brasses that were replaced at one time but look quite nice. Bumps and bruises throughout that one would expect on a 100+ year old piece. Antique Chinese Chippendale Revival Cabinet on a Carved Base Circa 1900
This impressive Double Bonnet Top cabinet sits about 81 ½ in. high by 49 in. wide by 19 ½ in. deep. It is a Colonial Revival piece circa 1900 made from Striped Mahogany solid woods and veneers using 18th. Century construction techniques. Some examples are: a dovetailed case. Mortised joints, solid wood panel in frame back, detailed brass hardware, and classic floral and urn inlays. The base is dramatic with deep carving ending in 4 1/2 in. by 4 in. ball and claw feet. It is a two piece cabinet with the base about 49 in. wide by 10 in. deep and 35 ½ in. high overall. The Double Bonnet top is about 46 in. wide by 15 ½ in. deep 46 in. high. The cabinet interior has a center divider with two removable shelves on each side. Each side is about 20 in. wide by 12 ½ in. deep by 42 ½ in. high to the top curve. The brass ... morehardware replicates the designs found on Chinese Chippendale style pieces popular in England and the Colonies during the late 1700s. The two locks work and I have the key. The Cabinet is in good sturdy condition with small marks and scratches. Small age cracks in some of the inlays, some repaired veneer cracks on the curved top, and some tight open seams in the base. The old probably original finish is in good condition with a small area of touch up on the top right corner of the right hand door and some edges of the shelves. The right hand side shows some fine scratches. I have photographed most of these signs of age and more photos are available on request. I guarantee it to be old and as described. Antique Wooden Medicine Cabinet (German, circa 1900-1940, Dark Wood & Glass)
Wooden medicine cabinet. Found in basement of old farmhouse in Germany and restored. Had been in basement since area was bombed in World War II. So it is at least circa 1930s, possibly older. Restored by professional antiques restorer. Still contains original mirror, all of original wood. Handle and hinges may be newer(uncertain on that) Due to age of mirror. American Empire style jelly cabinet, dark-toned walnut, circa 1900
I had this jelly cabinet(also called a sideboard) appraised by an antiques expert. And that's where most of this information comes from. It is representative of the American Empire Style, and was most likely built around the turn of the 20th century of a stained walnut with a burl veneer on the drawers and doors. It has a carved backsplash. The drawers have white porcelain pulls, and all drawers and doors have brass keyhole escutcheons. The feet are heavy round scroll shapes. I'm selling this for friends. And they've had it since the 1950s. They got it from the wife's grandmother, who had also gotten it used, and had it for quite awhile before she gave it to them. If you look at the pictures closely, you can see that it has definitely been a well used piece. On the top surface, you can see the shape of where an old-fashioned ... moreiron was set on it while still hot(the kind you had to heat up over the fire) and the feet(and bottom edge) both show some wear and tear also, but I think all of these flaws are cosmetic and could be easily repaired/refinished. The dimensions are 56"H x 49"L x 21"D. Given the size and weight. It's being offered for local pickup only.
