Bookcase was purchased from antique warehouse in Atlanta when we were furnishing Victorian home. Selling now because our tastes have changed to more contemporary. Obviously not in perfect condition. Look closely at pictures to see some warping and some loss of detailing. Also notice where we cut small hole in back to allow for electronics cables. Designed with hand leaded glass displaying overall diamond and linear patterns, bear the original bronze door pulls. There are seven adjustable wood shelves plus the bottom of the cabinet which totals ten shelves. The wood has a beautiful antique patina with no nicks or scratches. The lead glass doors need some work. A stained glass craftsman can repair some of the panes that have separated from the lead. The doors are removable so the piece is easily repairable. A beautiful old Baker Breakfront China Cabinet/ bookcase. With the secretary drawer. Reported to be from the early 1930's. I've had it for about 15 years, bought if from the original owners estate, was told that they had it since they were married in the early 1930's. Made in Grand Rapids Michigan. It has the seldom seen early Baker sticker inside the drawer that is in perfect condition, instead of the later embossed aluminum tag. Measures 75.5 in wide by 14 in deep and 85 in. tall. The base is 35 in tall, and the top is 50 in tall. Is in very good condition, all original. made of mahogany, with white oak drawers. The leather in the secretary drawer portion is in good condition, with typical cracking where it folds up. Has the original key. Beautiful flamed mahogany with sationwood inlays throughout. This is a very nice quartered quarter sawn oak china cabinet or bookcase. A smaller size with a single door. Pierce has a curved glass front door and original glass on both sides. Three adjustable shelves. Note the pretty scrolled and carved top gallery. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth and even finish.
