I hauled this out of the basement of an old home, and it is showing some age ... morewear, most notably with a couple slices out of drawer faces. There is slight pull away of the dovetailing on the bottom, but I think you could probably carefully tap it back into place. The previous owner did a very slap-up job of putting a dark stain on it, so the finish is somewhat inconsistent, you can see the oak in places inside, and there are faint watermarks on top, but I honestly love the look and character of this piece, and it's completely solid and functional. All four metal sliders are still inside, though they are a little stiff/rusty. Measures about 16" x 13 1/2" x 9 1/2".

VINTAGE 4 DRAWER SOLID TIGER OAK INDEX FILE CARD BUREAU This is one of the best condition old index card file bureau's I have come across. It measures 12" tall x 15 1/2" wide x 15 1/2" deep. It is solid tiger oak wood and is in wonderful clean condition. Each drawer fits properly; is in fine working order; and the index card holders move forward and back properly. I have placed a picture of the dovetail workmanship relative to the drawers in this listing. I have also placed pictures of all sides of the bureau. The front of the box has solid brass pulls and display frames. It would be very hard to find one of these in this type of condition. There are some nifty uses I can think of for this piece-really neat end table could be made with it. Really nice antique 4 drawer Maple wood library card catalog has great looks to be hand done dovetailing. The cabinet is 9 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep and weighs 27 pds. The drawers hold 3 x 5 cards. In good condition other than the rods that go in the bottom of the drawers are gone in the drawers but that makes it nice that the standard 3 x 5 card will fit it and there are some scratches. Tape residue, few small hairlines on the top, rubs, stains, average wear for its age. Did not find a manufacturers' name on this but in one of the drawers were some numbers as you can see in picture 8. These cabinets are good for a lot of things and look great. It is a 4 drawer cabinet that has the original slide adjusters in each drawer. It is dovetailed made as pictured. The cabinet measures 19 ¾” x 16” and 13 ¾” tall. It is in great shape as pictured. It is solid oak except for the back which is a veneer. There are some chips in the back veneer as pictured… nothing big. On one side. The wood has split, but this a minor cosmetic issue as the joints remain solid. There is an ERIE sticker on top, and we think it is the Erie Railroad. Here is a really nice antique tiger oak library Index 4 drawer Card Catalog made by Amberg File& Index. Genuine. Circa early 1900's. Nice aged patina. Quarter sawn oak construction with dovetailed drawers. I am not sure all are the original drawer pulls-the bottom 2 are the same, but the other 2 are different. All 4 drawers have label holders. Drawers open and close smoothly. The original block of wood inside the drawer remains in all 4 drawers. It measures approx. 15 1/2 inches x 15.5 inches and 11.75 tall. Nice, well built. Weighs about 26 lbs. Shows ordinary wear, dings, markings etc. Very good overall condition. There is a half torn off label with a zip code from Rittman, Ohio on the side. Very nice collectible!

Offered as a'buy it now is this 4 drawer 3" x 5" file cabinet manufactured by Shaw Walker. The overall dimensions are 14" wide x 15" deep x 9-1/2" height. There is a crack on one side which is the result of a slight warp in a panel. It has been refinished and the color is very close to original. The japonned hardware is original. The bottom left hand drawer face has been repaired also. All of the interior hardware works as it should. The felt pads cover what was hardware for some sort of interior block or divider. This is a very old piece of furniture and it is not perfect. But it is an antique piece and I am sure has an amazing history. It does have a lot scratches and scuffs and there is a white mark on the left side of it. Then on top of the piece one side is darker. The back of the piece there is a pretty big deep scratch. The four drawers do not have the same color, I am not for sure if it is different wood or just a different finish, but they are not the same color. The joints might not be as tight as they once were, but once again this is a very old piece. I would consider this piece to be very clean. The bottom is not as smooth finished as the rest of the cabinet and it is full of scratches and dings. Some type of oil or finish has been applied to it and the inside of the box and the bottom of the drawers does not have the oil applied to it. I have made a video at the bottom of the page so you can see how the drawers open and close. Also two of the four drawers has a small hole on the front of them and they all have scratches and dings.

Nice old early 20th century c.1910 4 drawer index filing cabinet. The dovetailed drawers are designed to hold many 3X5 index cards. Each one retains their original bras pulls and each have their own metal flap to hold your cards upright. There are tons of dividers inside the drawers which we will include. All of the drawers glide in and out with ease. The tiger oak grain is highly figured and glows warmly with its original golden oak patina. The cabinet is tightly dovetailed on both the top and bottom. A sign of high end construction.You will see a dark spot on the left side of the cabinet.
