I believe this to be the best quartersawn oak office filing cabinet piece I have ever offered for sale. Manufactured by Yawman& Erbe the two piece unit consists of 24 drawers and six doors. All drawers have full sides and backs and are fully functional. The doors have raised panels-please note the fancy detail work along the top of the unit. Original manufactures label-all pulls are brass and/or metal-drawer pulls have the Y& E insignia. Pristine condition would not be an exaggeration for this piece-smooth and even finish. Some measurements: top interior door spaces are 21 wide. 14.5 deep, and 13 high. The bottom door spaces(adjustable shelves) are each 21 wide, 23 deep, and 23 high. The drawers with the alphabet letters(original) on them are 9 wide, 13.5 deep, and 3.25 high. The 12 tall drawers are 4 wide, 15 deep, and 9.5 high. ... moreThe overall size of the entire unit is 69 wide, 74 high, and 27 deep. This is a large antique cabinet measuring 22 inches wide by 15 inches deep and 8 1/2 inches high. It has two drawers which will hold many 6 by 9 cards. I believe the drawers are what they call tiger oak with very nice grain. The whole box has a great patina to the oak wood. There is a manufacturers decal on the cabinet but I can not make out the name. The cabinet is very nice. Other than a scratch on one side, I do not see any damage. Hi. Up for your consideration is a Vintage Globe Wer. Co. library catalog file cabinet/box. I believe it is made out of Tiger Oak. All the joints are dovetailed. This was an estate find. I have done nothing to it-no polish or Old English. It is a beautiful piece of History and would make a wonderful addition to someone's personal library! All the drawers are made to fix 3"x5" index cards and they all are still in fine working condition. On the top of the cabinet, at the far back edge it says'GLOBE WER.CO#9428-I-IAA-19-15-30-and I believe) $16.20" Two of us looked at it and we both think it is a dollar sign in front of the 16.20. This is a beautiful Globe six drawer filing cabinet. In quarter sawn oak. It measures approximately 43" tall, 11& 5/8" wide, and 22" from front to back. The back side is not oak and it is not finished. I believe it is varnished pine. The drawers show nice dove tailed corners. The files/letters stand up in the drawers. Up for bid I have this very nice used condition oak cabinet that I originally thought was used for printers blocks/stamp storage but with some more research come to find out it was more likely a watchmakers cabinet from the early 1900's.The cabinet is made of oak wood.Shows normal age/use wear,some natural finish imperfections,has 6 drawers each divided into 32 square compartments,all hardware looks to be original,and it has the name Jessen& Rosberg on the front top drawer.The front of each drawer is stenciled with numbers that range from12- 23,so one might think that this could have had another section stacked on top of this one. This is a very interesting quarter sawn oak dental case cabinet. A tabletop piece with milk glass top. Brass pulls, and bun feet. Neat because there are drawers on both sides. Four drawers on one side(each 4.75 wide, 7.5 deep, and.75 high) and one large drawer on the other side(11 wide, 3.5 deep, and 2.0 high) I am quite sure this is a dental case as the top of the larger drawer reads'American Cabinet Co. Vintage Mid-Century Oak Wood 6-Drawer Library Index Card Catalog Office File
Vintage Card Catalog This is vintage 6-drawer card catalog. It is composed of oak wood with a medium-tone finish. The bottom of the catalog is made of pressed board. The catalog was made to hold standard 3" by 5" index cards with holes in them. A rod inserts through the hole in the cards to hold them in place. The rods are released when a small amount of pressure is applied to the bottom of the knob as it is pulled outward. Each drawer is approximately 1/4 full of blank index cards. The drawers stick out from the body of the cabinet approximately 1/8" On the face of each drawer is a brass handle with a window for inserting a drawer label. This cabinet is probably close to 80 years old and is in still really good condition it has dovetail jointing on the cabinet and on the drawer pulls themselves. It is Tiger oak wood and there are a lot of tiger stripes throughout. I've never seen one with with such an array of tiger stripes. One of the drawers has a solid bottom in it for pencils and tape and staplers and what have you. The plywood on the back has a 1 inch to a 1& 1/2 inch wide piece of veneer missing off of it which could be darkened and backed up against a wall and not even noticed. The cabinet measures 13& 1/2wide by 13& 1/2 tall by 16&1/2 deep. The drawer measures 5& 1/8 wide by 3& 1/4 tall by 14& 1/2 inches deep. The keepers all work properly too. It has solid red brass pulls with ID pockets on each drawer. The drawers all slide smooth ... moreand easy. The bottom has some small drill holes, see pictures.
