There is slight pull away of the dovetailing on the bottom, but I think you could probably carefully tap it back into place. The previous owner did a very slap-up job of putting a dark stain on it, so the finish is somewhat inconsistent, you can see the oak in places inside, and there are faint watermarks on top, but I honestly love the look and character of this piece, and it's completely solid and functional. All four metal sliders are still inside, though they are a little stiff/rusty. Measures about 16" x 13 1/2" x 9 1/2".

Furniture manufacturers were starting to use veneers and stains to simulate more expensive solid wood. The start of the Industrial Age to 1910 saw the diminishment of our great forrest stands of timber. This cabinet boasts it's original label on the top as well as original file drawer pulls. The drawers fronts have light finish loss. Please use the magnify feature to see this. Luckily none of the previous owners used any type of permanent paper in the file slots inside the drawer pulls. The inside bottom of all of the drawers have a hole so that legal documents could be stored that took up all of the drawers interior volume. You would pull the drawer open and insert your finger underneath and up through the hole to lift the pile of documents so that you just slide off the amount that you needed without wrinkling the documents. This cabinet measures 10 1/2" tall. 9 13/16" wide and 15 7/8" deep including the drawer pulls. The drawers measure 1" deep, 8 5/8" wide and 14 1/4" deep. The drawer measurements are the usable interior dimensions. The drawers are for the most part are very clean with just one of them having a small amount of dry residue. The drawers do not have any odor. The exterior of the cabinet is of fingerjoint construction with the inerior drawers being nailed. The exterior joints are very solid. The cabinet has various light scratches and some pinpoint paint drips. The top has a very small area of finish loss. The sides near the front of the cabinet have some slight finish loss as well. Facing the cabinet, it's right side has some finish loss along the bottom edge. This same side has a tight crack about 1 1/2" long coming up from the bottom. it is not very noticeable. Please note that the soda can is to help provide scale

I think this antique oak 4 drawer Macey file cabinet is in very good vintage condition. It still retains the majority of the original dark oak finish. It is a bit scratchy on the top and has a few spots but I would leave it as is. I think a bit of scratch cover and a waxing would be sufficient to make it home ready. The interior of the cabinet and drawers are very clean for a vintage item. If you like to refinish items to a light oak look it would refinish nicely. It does have the original Macey Decal of Grand Rapids Mich. and all of the drawers have the original directional decals as well. The hardware is mission style so it would go well with arts and crafts furniture. It has a tiny seperation halfway up one side that is only about a 16th of an inch wide and causes no structurally concerns. This is another wonderful. OLD antique oak 4 drawer file cabinet. It was made by the GLOBE WERNICKE Co. and is also marked PATEN PEND. From the early 1900s, there ARE 4 drawers, doors all slide IN AND out smoothly. Not real heavy about 80 lbs. Measures 52 1/2 inches high, is 16 1/2 inches across and is 25 inches deep. The finish is excellent, with just slight scuffs, and scratches, as would be expected for a old cabinet. Top is in remarkably great condition. Back bottom veneer is worn some as shown, but very fixable if it is important to you. Top drawer brown rectangular card holder is a replacement. All Bakalite pulls. Oak Paneled 4 Drawer File Cabinet Small Panels
Up for sale is a antique all oak paneled 4 drawer file cabinet. It is in good condition but could use some work. It has a great small paneled finish to it and it looks to be all original to. The cabinet is 51 1/2inches tall. 14 1/2inches wide and 23 3/4inches deep. The top 3 drawers bow out at the top. Could be a easy fix not sure. It is also missing one of the metal rods that run the bottom of each drawer. I will be listing this item plus other oak piece from a local estate. The owner was a refinisher. These were some of the projects that had never got done or even started. So they do need work so please ask questions and look at pictures. Local Pick-up is highly recommended. Antique Vintage Library Bureau Sole Makers 4-Drawer Wood Oak File Cabinet
For auction is one beautiful vintage 4-drawer quarter-sawn oak file cabinet from the early 1900s. It is in fantastic original condition. The finish is original and has only minor nicks and scratches. The brass hardware retains its original patina. And all hardware is accounted for. Each drawer has a dark green metal adjustable divider inside, and the top drawer has the original LBSM patent decal inside the drawer face. All metal glides operate smoothly. The finish is slightly lighter inside the label holders. There is also a slightly darker area on the top towards the front left of the cabinet(see photo) There is only one side panel. But it is reversible, so assuming the file cabinet is placed with one side against a wall, you can use the side panel on whichever side faces the room. Michigan is about 3 hours west of Warren, Michigan. It is very solid! It weighs 15 1/2 lbs and measures 14" deep x 13 1/4" wide x 8 3/4" tall All 4 Drawers slide freely and have Brass Hardware. Beautiful Antique Tiger Quartersawn Oak 4 Drawer File Cabinet Paneled Sides NICE
For your consideration is this beautiful antique oak quartersawn file cabinet. The person I bought this from told me that this was the condition he bought it in from a Savings and Loan bank that had gone out of business in southern Ohio. As you can see from the photos the file is in great condition. It has a nice golden oak finish that really shows off the tiger graining in the oak. The cabinets overall dimensions are 52" high X 27 1/4" deep X 14 3/4" wide. The inside of the drawers measure 12" wide X 10 1/4" high X 25" deep. The only thing I see wrong with it is one of the drawers has the bracket missing on the bottom which holds the adjustable wood slide vertical. It is ready for use in your home or office. Antique ca. 1910 era Library Bureau Sole Makers Oak 4 Drawer Large Index File Cabinet. Unique size will hold 8" wide and 5 1/2" tall in each drawer. Overall the file measures 19 3/4" wide. 15 3/4" deep and 14" tall; it weighs over 38 pounds! Very complete condition with all the original brass hardware and each drawer has the original sliding support dividers each having the Library Bureau decal. Earliest patent date listed is March 15, 1892 and last patent date is May 26, 1903. Solid oak with a wonderful aged patina to the finish. For sale is a hard to find antique Library Bureau Sole Makers 4 drawer oak fling cabinet in superb functioning condition. Circa 1900. The front and four panel sides and back are nearly flawless. All drawers work perfectly and each has the. Often lost, file pushers. In addition, each drawer has the original brass pull and file card holder. The cabinet is made from solid quarter sawn oak. The piece is"signed" with the original Library Bureau Sole Makers nameplate which appears on the front of the cabinet underneath the bottom of the first drawer. Also, a sticker indicating all of the patents held by Library Bureau applicable to cabinet is still clearly visible on one of the file pushers. Great Antique Shaw Walker 4 Drawer Tiger Oak Card File Cabinet Up for sale is this great antique Shaw Walker 4 drawer index card file bureau. It is Tiger Oak and possibly has been refinished. It is 13 1/2" wide. 14 1/4" deep and 9 1/2" tall. The drawers have brass pulls with card holders to label the drawer. It has the Shaw Walker gold label on the top, you can read Chicago below that but it is partially worn off. There is the number 354-Y impressed into the bottom which is probably the model number. The condition is very nice. There is a small area on the top left corner where the varnish or lacquer is worn off(see photo) and in the back on the bottom edge there is a 4"x 1/2" area where the veneer is missing. These minor flaws do not detract from the appeal of this piece. The drawers hold 3x5 index cards. Only one ... moredrawer has the sliding mechanism to hold the cards in place. Nice Library Bureau Solemakers file cabinet. In solid quarter sawn oak. The cabinet measures 15.75"W x 19.75" L x 14"H, and will hold a 5 x 8" index card in the drawers. Features dovetailed construction with original solid brass fixtures and drawer dividers. The rays and the flecks of the wood are nicely highlighted in this piece. Drawer dividers are all present, but the brass rods are missing. There is a stain on the top and side of the cabinet, but it adds to the patina and age of the piece. The last drawer picture also shows a crack across the middle of it which has been repaired and is barely noticeable. Very heavy piece and bigger then usual Library Bureau cabinets. Happy bidding!

Antique Quartersawn Oak 4 Drawer Library Bureau File Cabinet 1894 Card Catalog
This is an American oak library card catalog with 4 drawers. Made by the Library Bureau Sole Makers company. It is dated on the sides of each drawer with patent dates of 1892 and 1894. It shows a lot of character and patina from the last 100 years. It's not perfect, but has a nice appearance and looks good on a desk or table. The drawers have the card supports present and the drawers operate smoothly. The back has paneled construction which is nice, and everything is dovetailed for added quality. The outside dimensions are 14" by 14.5" by 11" tall. The drawers hold both 3" by 5" index cards, and 4" by 6" cards. I will ship this by FedEx within 1 day of payment.

Unusual quartered quarter sawn oak 38 drawer file cabinet-4 doors-2 files-15023
I like to sell quartered quartersawn oak office furniture. Besides being functional. There are an endless variety of forms. Not sure of the manufacturer of this file cabinet-could be Globe, Erbe or Macey but no matter. It is very unusual with four doors which hide 36 drawers on the interior. Additionally, there are two standard size file drawers. This is a stack model with raised panels on the doors and full panels on the sides. The small drawers have original label pulls and have an interior size of 4 wide, 9.5 deep, and 3.5 high. The two bottom file drawers have the original wood followers to hold the paper and measure 12 wide, 24 deep, and 10 high. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth, even, and authentic finish. A very unusual piece, a stepback model, and ready for your home or office. The Globe Wernicke Company Vintage Pre-1955 4 Drawer Oak Legal Size File Cabinet
I am offering a Globe Wernicke Company 4 drawer file cabinet. In beautiful condition. It is 19 1/2” wide, 25” deep, and 52 1/2” high. These filing cabinets were made by The Globe Wernicke Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, founded in 1899 and sold in 1955. I cannot tell exactly the age of this cabinet, but it has to be before 1955, and the fact that it was owned, at one time, by the U.S. Army Airforce(stamped on the back) might suggest the 1940s? There is a catalog number W-G-45, which might indicate when it was produced, but I haven’t been able to find anything on that. However, if you want to read an interesting history of this company, I found it on Wikipedia, at the bottom of the page under references. In that history it was mentioned that, During the World War II, 90% of Globe-Wernicke's manufacturing facility was used for wartime production. ... moreWing flaps, nacelle doors, tail cones, troop seats, and furniture for ships were the main products. This solid oak cabinet overall is in beautiful condition and looks lovely. It has its original finish and hardware. The drawers all have wooden file dividers and wooden and metal slides. The drawers slide easily. Defects: The bottom drawer has the metal rod. To hold the file divider in place, missing. There are some small chips in the oak veneer- drawer fronts, which I have shown in pictures, and one of the drawers, once closed, falls open about 1/4” Also the bottom of the back has some damage, like maybe water damage, but it is still solid and should never show. The light oak finish, number 3815 1/2 is really rich looking and the grain of the oak is lovely. I have searched online and have found these cabinets selling for $700-900 in the legal size. Since I do not wish to even attempt arranging shipping, I have listed this at a lower price, because it would have to be picked up locally here in Oregon. I would imagine that, at this price, even dealers would be able to make a profit on resale. It looks that good!

ITEM: Here is a beautiful Antique Oak. 4 Drawer, File Cabinet. The cabinet measures 11" tall, 17" long and 14" wide. There are 4 drawers that will hold 3x5 cards. Brass handles are still intact on the front of the drawers. There are no maker marks anywhere to be found. CONDITION: There is light surface wear.
