Each drawer has the 1892 and 1894 patent date on them.The Library Bureau Sole Makers Company was in business from the early 1880s to about 1925.I guess the library in the 1890s had to be the only gateway to the world and the hands that were in these drawers.Very nice old patina and there are a few issues but not major and easily addressed and fixable with low expense.There is a piece along the right rear back panel which is not really visible from the front.A couple drawers have some cracks and one has a piece of the rear panel gone but every issue is repairable and I have not altered or repaired anything so you are dealing with the original item.No screws or glue added but it could use some skill to keep it original.There was tape used on the exterior over the years and those are the shadows you see in the photographs.The shadow of the ring on the top was put there by the original librarian so I had a place to put my coffee cup.It is a really cool piece and soundly built.Another 100 years is no problem with this guy. Antique 3 Drawer Oak Card Catalog Office Drafting File
This is a great 3 drawer oak cabinet or file. This file has what I believe to be the original finish and looks great. With wonderful quartersawn tiger oak woodgrain patterns. The dimensions are approx 10" wide by 14 3/4" deep by 13 1/2" tall. The inside of the drawers masure 7 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 12 1/2 deep. There are a few rubs and a couple scratches from years of use. Nice metal tag on top the reads American Drafting Furnature Rochester NY. The bottom drawer has a thin chip missing across the bottom edge about 1/8 wide tapering down. This listing is for a nice vintage cabinet by the Yawman and Erbe It is a one-drawer example. With the original brass drawer pull, and brass tag that reads"Y and E" It has the original adjustable sliding card holder in the drawer. Everything operates smoothly, the back however is missing(see picture) and there is some paint splatter on the front. These files were in common use in the early part of the 20th century in libraries, schools, and offices and were built to last. This example has wonderful quartersawn oak wood grain patterns and quality dovetailed construction with a few small cracks on the sides from over the years, but does not affect the overall condition. Antique Library card catalog. Made by the Library Bureau Sole Makers Company. Made of oak. Appears to have never been refinished. Shows years of loving wear. Please see all the pictures for a better idea of condition. There are 3 drawers with 6 areas for cards. The drawers are unlike most cabinets and are open rather than seperated into cubbies. This actually makes it much more usefull than most other cabinets. Only one drawer still retains the inside hardware. All drawers retyain the original outside hardware. One very interesting thing about this cabinet are the hand holds that were carved into the sides. This cabinet was apparently moved alot so the hand holds were added after production to aid in moving the cabinet. Normally I would say this would hurt the value but in this case they were probably added around 100 years ago and I feel ... morethis actually makes it even more interesting. I wish I knew the story of why they were added. Possibly a portable library. Think about it. Its very interesting and personally I feel since it was done so long ago it adds to the history and interest of this wonderfull piece.We will ship anywhere in the Continental United States fully insured for 35.00. Rescued from a factory, this item has had a long working life and remains in very good condition for its age. The cabinet measures 20.5" T x 15.25 W x 16" D. There are six card catalog style drawers, each with the interior dimensions of 6.125" W x 13.5" L X 4" D. Each drawer has an individual card catalog style pull with space for a tag. There is a galvanized metal insert in one of the drawers made by someone to fit. Some of the drawer fronts are mismatched and there is some damage to the finish in spots, mostly on the side and back. This beautiful oak card catalog box was made by Gaylord Bros. Inc. and its dovetail oak construction really makes this piece stand out. It's only two drawers. So it can find a home anywhere in your house. It would make a particularly nice recipe box. The drawers also have dovetailed construction and slide open easily. All hardware is brass and has been hand polished to a high shine, including the screws. The label on the back is also polished brass. The oak appears unfinished and has been lightly treated with natural oils to preserve the aged quality of the wood and give it a beautiful shine. This box is in great shape with no major damage. There are a few thin vertical cracks in the sides that I see a lot of in older pieces with dovetail construction. Really nice antique 4 drawer Maple wood library card catalog has great looks to be hand done dovetailing. The cabinet is 9 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep and weighs 27 pds. The drawers hold 3 x 5 cards. In good condition other than the rods that go in the bottom of the drawers are gone in the drawers but that makes it nice that the standard 3 x 5 card will fit it and there are some scratches. Tape residue, few small hairlines on the top, rubs, stains, average wear for its age. Did not find a manufacturers' name on this but in one of the drawers were some numbers as you can see in picture 8. These cabinets are good for a lot of things and look great. It is a 4 drawer cabinet that has the original slide adjusters in each drawer. It is dovetailed made as pictured. The cabinet measures 19 ¾” x 16” and 13 ¾” tall. It is in great shape as pictured. It is solid oak except for the back which is a veneer. There are some chips in the back veneer as pictured… nothing big. On one side. The wood has split, but this a minor cosmetic issue as the joints remain solid. There is an ERIE sticker on top, and we think it is the Erie Railroad. Item is in fair condition with minor surface scratches. Finger joint construction. Back finger joint had lid bracket pulled out and is reflected in picture. Lid has a split next to finger joint damage. Look at picture. Their is damage to it. I had this in my vintage office for display and worked very well as the damage is hidden. Someone put a nail for a hinge pin as noted in picture. Still retains the nice Weis logo. 13 inches long by 5 3/4 inches wide by 4 3/8 inches in height. Looks to be missing the idex card slide thingy. The inside cover or lid bracket is not attached. I think this is pine Ask Questions BEFORE BIDDING. Here is a really nice antique tiger oak library Index 4 drawer Card Catalog made by Amberg File& Index. Genuine. Circa early 1900's. Nice aged patina. Quarter sawn oak construction with dovetailed drawers. I am not sure all are the original drawer pulls-the bottom 2 are the same, but the other 2 are different. All 4 drawers have label holders. Drawers open and close smoothly. The original block of wood inside the drawer remains in all 4 drawers. It measures approx. 15 1/2 inches x 15.5 inches and 11.75 tall. Nice, well built. Weighs about 26 lbs. Shows ordinary wear, dings, markings etc. Very good overall condition. There is a half torn off label with a zip code from Rittman, Ohio on the side. Very nice collectible!

It was the second catalog I've ever bought and really is what got me into collecting these beautiful pieces of history. This item is perfect for an introductory piece. It is not nearly as large as some of the other pieces out there so it doesn't cause space issues. WC Heller has been around since 1891. They are an Ohio based furniture company that is still producing library furniture today. They are very well known amongst collectors due to their incredible craftsmanship. I am not certain the age of this piece and I have honestly never seen another one and. Believe me, I have looked. Each of the 18 drawers are stamped with the makers mark. Vintage, Antique Oak Library Card Catalog with 2 stacks & 4 Drawers C. 1912
Up for sale is a vintage library card catalog. It is a four drawer. Dovetailed oak, two piece stacking unit. The drawers are wood, and in excellent condition with their original brass pulls. All the drawers slide fairly easily, except for drawer L-Q which has some wear on the wood but it still works fine. The metal rods and card stop/supports are all there and work well. Supports are stamped Pat. June 25, 1912. The bottom stacking piece has some age cracks along the sides in addition to some scuffs and scratches. Paint spatters, and a few dings to the wood. The pictures show the worst age cracks where the wood is split in two places, but it is still solid and together. Dimensions of the two stacks combined is 13 3/8" wide. 10 1/4" tall, and 15" deep. Antique Card Catalog Iron Clad Patented 1888 Industrial Tin Drawer Vintage Box
Antique bin file from 1888. Stamped on top reading CHAS C CHAMBERLAIN IRON CLAD PATENTED 1888 There's also some writing on the too which I tried to highlight in the photos. I can't really make out what it reads except for"family letters" It's a really beautiful industrial style bin with a cute pull in the front. It also has a spot where you can fit a label. The lining appears to be a hard paper board held together by folded tin. 4.25" x 10" x 4" Please don't hesitate to ask questions.

Antique Vintage Globe Library Bureau File Index Card Catalog Cabinet 12 Drawer
Purchased from old building auction. I will do my best to describe. 12 drawers. Oak outer, metal inner all marked Globe. This is 2 pieces stacked, 6 drawers each. This will need some restoration. There is a laminate piece that was placed on the top. There are 2 drilled holes in the top. Faded paint? markings throughout. One drawer pull is split, there is one pull missing. Wheels were attached on the bottom with ply wood, can be removed. This stands 26.6" tall minus the wheels and ply wood. 33" in width. Very heavy. I would prefer local pickup(Winona, MN) but am willing to give any quotes on shipping if interested. Message me with any questions. Item to be picked up within 1 week of auction end.

This is an awesome size at about 68” wide X 73" high X 18 1/2” deep. I could have made more money selling just the drawers, but I wanted to keep this free standing cabinet all original is possible. Age is over 70 years old and possibly older. The drawers held 3”X5” index cards but can repurposed for almost anything. The top right corner moulding has a piece missing. The left side has a piece of cosmetic moulding gone. The cabinet is finish on all sides. The drawers have the beautifully aged medium oak patina. Looking closely you may notice some drawers are a slightly different, some have brass buttons and most others have straight key slots.
