There are also the marks"Quadruple 448" The anchors date this piece to 1865-1867. The insert is a very pretty opalescent light blue satin glass with a diamond hatch mark design. Please see photos as I am doing a terrible job of describing the beauty of this piece. The glass is slightly bluer on top and more opal on the bottom. There is wear to the rim but no chips. Cracks, or other damage to the piece. The silver plate holder is very decorative with a floral design and a ruffled edge. The lid of the pickle jar has a brighter finish than the rest of the piece and I am unsure if it is the original lid. Please make your own determination. The decoration on the tongs has floral elements but also may not be original to the piece. The pickle castor measures about 10&1/2" tall and just over 6&1/2" at its widest and the glass insert measures about 4&1/4" tall and about 3&1/2" in diameter. I cannot find the pattern for this piece and I know this glass design is rare- this is over all a stunning and unusual piece and would be a perfect addition to any collection. Tongs and cranberry glass insert. It is in good working condition with a mechanical tilting lid. It includes the tongs and a cranberry glass insert. There is wear from age and use and some silver plate losses to the silver plated finish. The frame measures about 12 and 1/2 inches high. The tongs are 6 inches long. The glass insert measures 4 inches high and 3.25 inches wide. There are no chips or cracks to the glass insert. I do not see a maker's mark. Antique Pickle Castor Cranberry Dot with Tongs This beautiful pickle castor was purchased at an antique show in Del Mar. California many years ago. This set has always been one of my favorites. I love the cranberry jar. The best is the bird head designed. Tong holder and the bird claw designed tong. Truly lovely. Item Description*Jar size: 3.75" width(at widest point) x 4.25" height*Metal holder size: 5" width(at widest point) x 11" height*The metal holder is marked Superior Silver Plate Company- Quadruple- 19 on the underside(see photo 12) Set includes holder frame. Cranberry jar, tongs and jar lid. I am not sure if all the pieces are were originally together. They were purchased together about 20 years ago. Condition*Metal is in excellent condition. I don't see scratches or any dents. The underside needs a little ... morecleaning(see photo 5) I cleaned the metal as best as I could but still probably needs a little more cleaning. There are some polish residue in the small areas that I couldn't remove. Glass jar is in good condition but has five chips around the rim(see photos 6-11) You cannot see these chips when the lid is on the jar. Up for bid is a beautiful made in the USA antique/vintage Bristol quadruple plate pickle castor complete with the carrier. Jar, jar lid, and tongs. The castor is in great condition and the jar is flawless. The height is 11" and the diameter is 4-1/2" at the widest point. I don't know the exact age of the pickle castor but the glass jar glows beautifully under a black light so it is at least depression era or before. Vintage glass pickle castor with caddy marked silver plate made in England. The fork is marked as well. The caddy has lovely filigree and is in very good shape. The glass insert is 3" square. Vintage Pickle Castor With Matching Hand Tongs!!!
This very unique vintage pickle castor is in a complete set. It had the stand. Glass, lid and thongs. The stand has a very unique design with leaves and flowers in full details. The top of the stand is broken but can still be lifted by the handle. But that is the only thing that is wrong with it other wise it is in mint condition. The glass has a craved in design of vines with leaves. The glass has no chips and is in perfect condition. The lid came with the stand and is in perfect condition. The thongs are a very unique design. It is actually hands and has the same flower design as the stand and is in perfect condition. I'm really not sure what the stand is made of but it could be three things, brass, copper or silver. Vintage Ornate Silverplate & Embossed Glass Pickle Castor w/Fork - England
Here is a Vintage Ornate Silverplate& Embossed Glass Pickle Castor with its fork. On the handle of the holder there is a real pretty flower design. The base design looks like it has a petal with four holes on the corners, and continues all the way around. On the bottom of the silver plate holder it does say Made in England. The glass container has a design of squares all the way around, and is a heavier glass. The label is still on the front, and says Made in England. The little holder that the bottom of the folk sits in is plastic. The fork itself is not the original fork that came with the set. The fork says Prestige Plate. This came from my husband's Aunt things, and was never used, and was on displayed in her china cabinet for many many years. It was never used, just displayed. From what Uncle says when she was cleaning one day ... moreshe misplaced the fork, and someone gave her this one as a replacement. I am guessing that this to be more than 60 years old, but cannot really tell you the exact year it was made. It was given as a gift when she first got married. Neat looking pickle jar in stand with it's original fork and a drip catcher. I believe they are called pickle castors in the USA. The stand is imprinted JT& Co EPNS. Which I believe is John Turton and made mid 19th century, though could be much earlier. The fork is also imprinted JT and also has an S, a crosshatch hallmark, what looks like EP and also a registration number. The jar and lid are heavy cut glass and I have tried to show the pattern in the photos- please look at them carefully. These pickle/sugar tongs are very ornate with their claw shaped hands and scroll work. I do not see any makers mark and they were purchased from estate sale so origin and maker unknown. Approximately 5" long. Has patina and normal wear for the age. Did not try to clean. Will accept returns if not as described in pictures and description.

VINTAGE PICKLE CASTOR WITH BIRD FEET TONGS No Glass
Here i have a Vintage Pickle Castor. I believe the Castor is made of copper. It says nowhere that it was silverplatted. Has no markings at all. So i do not know who made it. It stands 12" tall, the base is 4 3/4" wide, tongs or crows feet are 6" long, cap is 2" tall and 2 1/2" across the same as the bottom of caster for jar. As you will see in the pictures, there is a Birds head to hand you Crows Feet on. This does not come with the Glass. As I said this looks like copper.

Up for auction and your consideration is a vintage silver-plated Victorian Style Numbered Pickle Castor with the original intricate decorated tongs. The castor silver-plate frame is production number marked on the bottom of the frame- also under the lid as shown in pictures#11and#12. Approximately 10 inches tall from top of the castor frame to the bottom- 6 inches tall from the top of the silver-plate castor top and glass castor to the bottom of the frame- 4.25 inches across at the bottom. The glass pickle jar is paneled glass. A patterned design circles the silver-plate bottom. Arch is a bronze metal that sets off the silver plate. One flea bite under the glass rim of the bottom that fits into the castor frame and not visible- pic#12. A very elegant and classy pickle castor.
