This is a an Antique Silver Plated Loving Cup. And most likely been a Trophy, Deco type. Believe it is early,1900-1940) It is signed on the bottom in two places. There are three handles. It stands 11/12" at the highest spot, and measures 9 1/2" across the top of the bowl. The bowl is footed and standing on the base. The Handles and base have Grapes and Leaves applied. There is some Vintage wear from age, some scratches, and a couple of very small dents. There is no engraving on it for trophy award, and think it had been on another base, which would have had the award information. This is an amazing piece, and very eye catching. This large Pairpoint silver plate trophy cup has a wine theme. With grapes decorating the top and the base. The trophy is really more a tall vase than a cup, as it is 20” tall. The inscription reads: Building Circles, Rose Hill Methodist Church, 1917” The vase is in the shape of a hexagon and has the inscription on only one side. RARE 1921 SILVER PLATE TROPHY Cup "BEST BRACE Of SEALYHAM TERRIERS" Art Deco Vtg
No Reserve 10-Day Auction Ending Saturday. February 28th Great piece of history for the trophy collector. Dog enthusiast, or maybe someone who loves their Sealyham Terrier! Trophy has a great look to it with its double handles, and is engraved silverplate. There is also enough info on this trophy to probably track the history on this piece, and learn its story! The best brace award. According to online research, is competition where two dogs of the same breed are brought out by one handler. Both dogs are judged based on overall quality, as well as how similar they are to each other. Trophy measures 10" tall. 6" wide to the handles, and the base is 5" diameters. The trophy alone measures 8" tall, 4" in diameter, and still 6" wide to handles. Trophy could use polishing, but there are no cracks, breaks, etc. Wood ... morebase shows surface wear but is in overall good shape. Trophy does have a dent on the lower backside(pictured) And there is a smaller dent right on the front middle top(can be seen in photos) Overall great display piece! This is a tennis trophy made by Wilcox Silver Plate Co. It was for first place singles in the 1891. I is engraved to Charles W. Godfrey. Lots of marking on the bottom including the Wilcox mark and quadruple plate. Gilt, and 5223. It measures approx. 5 1/8 inches tall by 3 inches wide at the rim. A very attractive momento of the late Victorian era World Tennis Association tennis games.
