Antique Cruet Caddy This is a lovely Victorian Castor Set. Or Cruet Caddy. Made by Simpson Hall Miller& Co, it has a Patent date on the bottom which reads: Patent 1.28.67. This company was a premier silver plate manufacturer in the 1800s and was absorbed into the International Silver Co. in 1898. So. The patent date has to be from 1867. The caddy is also stamped on the bottom with the logo of Simpson Hall Miller& Co, along with the'quadruple plate' stamp. This has partially worn off, but the main of it can still be seen in the last photographs. The sliver plating has worn off to a great extent. I'm sure it could be re-plated. If that was the new owner's wish. The bottles are in great shape for their age. Beautiful. Detailed etching surrounds all the bottles. Of the three bottles which have silver-plated tops, one top ... morewill not come off. The other two bottles have small chipping along their top edges. Which can't be seen with the tops on. Also. The tops don't sit snugly on the bottles, as the bottle tops have become stripped with age. Two of the bottles have glass stoppers. Both stoppers are chipped on their bottoms. But they do sit securely in the bottles, and their tops are fine. None of the bottles have chips or cracks that can be seen upon display-only the chipping along the tops of the bottles which I have already mentioned. The caddy itself is engraved with a leaf and flower design. Someone's initials are also engraved in one place. But I can't really make-out what the initials are. This piece is a really nice example of Victorian workmanship. Please inspect the pictures to see if it deserves a place in your home! Caddy is 15.5" tall Middle piece is 7.5" wide Base is 5.5" wide. Up for auction is a Vintage Victorian Look. Rogers Silver Plate'Meriden Britannia Co. CT' Quadruple Cruet Castor 5 Glass Container Set. The bottle has a different etched glass design. The swivel caddy has a Beaver Motif and it spins around with ease. It is in Excellent Vintage/Antique( Condition with a few typical exceptions, which consist of a chip on one of the stoppers on the part that sits inside the cruet(see pic) which is not noticeable when the stopper is on the bottle. The other issue is the lid of the smallest cruet. The pins are not attached to its rim, it has come apart where it swivels to raise the lid(see pic) The makers mark is located on the top side of the caddy, tried to get a pic but not sure as to how clear it turned out. DESCRIPTION This is a quadruple silver plate and etched glass castor set by EG Webster& Son(New York) Based on my research of this particular makers mark. I believe this set dates between 1860 and 1875 when EG Webster& Son was changed to EG Webster& Brother. The set has 5 glass bottles of the same pattern glass which in itself is a rarity. The two glass stoppers are in excellent unchipped condition. They fit nice and tightly on the bottles and the other 3 silver plate tops screw on tightly and fit perfectly. I don't know very much about silverplate however this set appears to be in remarkably good condition with no dents and very little wear to the silver plating. Part of the makers mark has worn off where it reads quadruple plate and only the Q and the U is still visible(photo#4) however the mark as a whole is still clear. ... moreThere is also a 4 digit number that is hand engraved in two places on the underside of the revolving stand. That number is 3626. The stand and base have a very nice etched fan and leaf design and the handle has a pretty raised design. The handle also unscrews for easy storage. Here is a PAIRPOINT caster set with 5 bottles. From the 1800s. It comes with 4 bottles and one mustard or a silver plated hinged top. Of the four bottles only one is complete. The glass is in good condition with etched floral work and a cut honey comb pattern but two do not match the other three. One bottle has small chips around the top but will be covered with the top on it. The silver plate rack or holder rotates nicely and is very straight with no dings but the finish is worn. The PAIRPOINT patten number on the base is 1059. Nice EASTLAKE STYLE TO THE CENTER HANDLE.

We looked for a makers mark but could not find it. We found a date of aug 1856 on the ball on tpp of the bell. We have not been able to find a similar item with the bell. It definitely shows signs of its over 150 years of age and use but a great piece for someone who wants a restoration project. We think to the right person and a little TLC and elbow grease this item may once again grace the center of the table. Antique Victorian Silver Plate Condiment Castor and Cruet Set, only four bottles
A pretty antique Victorian Silver Plate Condiment Castor and Cruet Set in very good condition. But with only four bottles instead of five. I can't find a name or mark except for the number 2169 on the bottom. The top design is a child picking apples with a circle on the very top. It doesn't seem to have any dents or any missing silverplate. It is 16" tall x 7" in diam. at the cruet holder. There are two cruets with faceted stoppers. One stopper has a teeny chip on the very top and a teeny chip on one of the points. I think these are daisy and button designs. Those two are 8 3/4" to the top of the stopper. The other two are 8 3/4" tall with silverplate salt shaker tops. One has a small chip on the rim under the screw on top. Everything seems to be great and very pretty.

Cranberry Thumb Print Glass Castor Cruet Set 1853-1859 Taunton Silver Plate Co.
Available for purchase. We have a beautiful cruet castor set. This set has 5 cranberry hand blown glass bottles with a thumb print pattern. The stand is triple silver plate made by The Taunton Silver Plate Co. In Taunton, Massachusetts. The stamp used on the stand was one that Taunton used from 1853-1859. Two of the glass bottles are missing their glass stoppers. There is also a mustard pot and 2 shaker bottles that have silver plate tops. Other than the missing stoppers, there is no chips or cracks. A couple of the bottles have a slightly crooked neck due to them being hand blown. It's hard to notice but true. The stand has a few rough spots where there is wear to the silver plate but nothing that would detract from a piece of this age. With matching wheel cut design is roses cut to clear glass, S&P Shakers, an oil and vinigar cruet set w/ stoppers, and a mustard jar(no spoon) All the glass is free of chips, cracks, flea bites, dents, dings, or repairs. The Hartford Silver Plate Company was a Connecticut company. In existence from 1822-1894. This castor set consists of the silver plated caddy. Two etched glass cruets, one etched castor with silver plated top, and an etched mustard jar with a silver plated lid. The date is likely around the late 1880s. The set carries the circular Hartford company mark with a stag in the center and the name surrounding. The incised number‘425’ appears on the underside of the circular caddy. The caddy has a beautiful leaf design and rotates around the center support. The etched glass items are quite substantial. All the containers. Tops, and stoppers are original. All in all. Up for auction is a nice antique condiment set. Set comes with two paneled glass bottles with stoppers and two shakers on a silverplate footed stand. Set is overall in good condition. The two shakers each have a chip to the bottom edge. One bottle has a small chip to the bottom edge, wear to the silverplate, the handle on the tray is very loose. Please see photos carefully for details. Stand measures about 7 1/2" H x 6 7/8" x 5 7/8" bottles about 6 1/8" H x 1 3/4" W; shakers 3 3/4" H x 1 3/4" W. Fresh out of a fine old estate! An antique silver plated cruet/castor set featuring lovely etched"cut to clear" amber glass decorated with swirls. Birds, structures and foliage. The silver plated stand stands approximately 14.5" tall and is marked on the bottom"3612 Mf'd and Plated by Reed& Barton" The amber glass oil and vinegar cruets measure approximately 8.5" and 8-1/8" The shakers each measure approximately 7-1/8" tall. The mustard jar measures just shy of 6.5" tall. There is wear and tear commensurate with age and use. There is some plate loss to the stand, particularly to the top surface where the bottles are inserted. The spoon is missing from the mustard jar. One of the stoppers has a small chip mid-body. Wonderful Victorian Aesthetic Movement silverplate castor stand! The base has a motif of birds. Flowers and outdoors urns with more flowers. The sides that hold the jars in are branches of leaves. And at the very top, a little cherubic child, holding a bird! Marked Rogers Smith& Co. on the bottom. Some wear consistent with age/use, and traces of silver polish residue on the figure. But overall in good, displayable condition. Approx. 7.75" X 3.75" X 11.375" tall. Now. About the jars.I was so smitten with the framework, I didn't pay much attention to the jars. But as I started to list them, it occurs to me that they may not be original. They seem kind of plain. I did an ebay search of pickle castors, and there were others with very simple finials, too. But.the lids have no maker's marks, and I am thinking they are ... morevintage but not antique or original to the frame. I could be wrong, so please take a look and use your own expert judgment(they do seem to fit well) They are crystal, with a cut sort-of starburst on the bottoms. One bottom has a polished cut that looks like the glassworker made a mistake. I also see a few very teensy chips on the bottom. Plus they are slightly different from each other, and have a hand-blown quality. Both the forks do say ROGER SMITH& CO. So perhaps the jars are ok? Strange to have the right forks but not jars. IT DEFINATELY HAS SILVER ON THE OUTSIDE AS THERE WAS A LOT OF OXIDE THAT CAME OFF BLACK WHEN I CLEANED IT UP. THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A BOTTOM PIECE ON THIS ITEM AS THE BOLT ON THE BOTTOM. HOLDING THE HANDLE LOOKS MODERN, AND I KNOW THE REST OF IT AND THE BOTTLES. ARE DEFINATELY VINTAGE. THIS MAY ALSO BE WHY THE BOOTLES COME UP A LITTLE WHEN SETTING IT ON A TABLE. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ENAMELED CRANBERRY GLASS PICKLE CASTOR SET SILVER PLATE FRAME
Up for auction with no reserve is an estate lot of 19th century Victorian Period silver plate and cranberry pickle casters. This lot includes 2 matching beautifully enameled cranberry glass with a matching floral hand painted designs. The frames are also quite nice but do show some wear as seen in photos. The jars are in excellent condition. With the exception of a small chip on the mouth of the small jar. Both jars have a lovely cranberry matte finish on the outside and shiny on the inside. The largest jar is 6" high x 6 wide" The smaller matching jar is 3 1/2" high x 3 3/4" wide. Antique Meriden Silverplate Silver Quadruple Plate Cruet Castor Set 6 Glass Jars
Up for auction is a nice example of an antique Victorian cruet castor set made by the Meriden Silver Plate Company. This is a rotating castor or cruet set with 6 etched and dimpled glass bottles. The holder stands about 14 1/2" tall to the top of the handle. It is engraved with the hallmark of a lion and the words" MERIDEN SILVER PLATE. CO. QUADRUPLE PLATE" with the No. 0348. The bottles include; a salt& pepper holder with silverplate caps. Each about 7 1/2" tall, 3 oil/vinegar bottles, about 9" tall including the glass stoppers. And 1 mustard style bottle that is about 5 1/2" tall with a hinged silverplate lid. The holder has nice detail at the top handle, and engraved design on the hanging edge. See enlarged photos for condition. The silverplate is tarnished and has scratches and minor loss to the silverplate ... morein spots. Three of the glass bottles are in excellent condition. But the 3 oil/ vinegar bottles all have chips at the top(in the same spot on each) and the stoppers have missing bottoms/chipped bottoms. As you can tell from the photos, these are not as obvious when used in display. I HAVE NOT CLEANED! Photos taken with and with out flash.
