Early 20th century Hip Flask This good-sized hip flask has a 300 ml capacity with an oval glass body. Leather clad shoulders, a silver plated removable cup to the base and a silver plated screw top with the original cork intact. The base has the mark of the high quality manufacturer, James Dixon& Sons and, from its style and the mark’s design, this piece would date to the first quarter of the 20 th century. This flask is in good condition but there are a few pitting spots to the plating on the cup as shown in the photos below. The leather has no splits. Tears or deep scuffs and the glass has no cracks or chips. The cap has no dents and screws securely to the neck. Here is my very collectable James Dixon silver plate spirit kettle and stand. Minor age associated wear but still with fresh bright plate. A lovely useable functional and display item. I bought this kettle with the stand it is on. The stand looks to be aesthetic movement in design, and the stand has no makers marks on whereas the kettle does. Size 27cm in height.
