It is SIGNED on the base in black enamel script"ALADIN" and"Made ... morein France. R2" There is also an underglaze incised"S" or maybe a"4" Aladin items are extremely scarce, and always coveted- produced from circa 1900- 1930- and are contemporaneous with porcelains from Boulogne-sur-Mer in Northern France. I saw another signed Aladin piece with the same flower design, that also had"E. Molineau" impressed on the base. The base edge flares out slightly. The domed lid has an opening on the edge for a little spoon. The knob is in the shape of a chestnut. Acorn or nut surrounded by leaves. The background color is a rich yellow, and there are hand painted eggplant purple cabbage flowers& black leaves on the edges. There are Chinese or Japanese style Cherry blossoms on branches around the sides of the pot, with a cinnabar red background and rich yellow band at top. This fantastic Aladin moutardier. Pot a moutarde measures 3" high x 2 1/4" across at the widest point. It is in really excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is a small area on the yellow band around the top of the pot(not the lid) where the yellow looks a little lighter, but that is not wear. The yellow color was just brushed on a bit thinner there. An exceptional pieces for the discerning collector who appreciates rare and unique things. SHIPPING TO USA. This is a beautiful silver plate on copper covered. Footed mustard condiment server with a cobalt glass insert made in England. It has no cracks, chips, dents or dings(showing little plate loss) It measures 2 5/8" tall x 4 1/8" long x 4 1/2" wide(including handle) and weighs 3/4 lb. It is marked on the bottom EPC England. Each of the four legs are lions heads with claw feet. The spoon is not original to this piece, but is a nice complement. The pattern on the spoon is Princess which originated in 1879. Up for auction a wonderful miniature barrel shape silverplate mustard pot by the English manufacturer Elkington and Co. The mustard pot is modelled as a miniature barrel with 5 bands of ribbing on the top and bottom. The lid with a ribbed thumb rest works fine and there is no problem with the hinge. There is a simple scrolled handle. Nicely. The pot has its original frosted glass liner with a star cut bottom, The pot stands 2.5" tall x 3.5" at its widest point. The base diameter is 1.75" Clearly marked on the base, the pot has a"B" date letter for the year 1887. The mustard pot is in excellent condition with no plate loss, dents or dings. Item is marked EP Copper made in England with a makers mark but it is a little distorted. Item is 4 inches by 3 1/4 wide(measure is the floral top part) height is 2 1/2 inches to the top of the handle. The spoon is 3 1/4 and marked EP(triangle with what looks like an R) NS Good used condition showing normal usage marks no plate loss. The liner has some minor nicks to the top edge. HISTORY: The original firm that grew to become the 20th century’s Homan Manufacturing Company began operation as“Flagg& Homan” in 1847. It was then that H. Henry Homan formed a partnership with Asa F. Flagg to manufacture Britannia wares and other items in Cincinnati. Ohio. Flagg was already an established Britannia maker by 1847. Until at least sometime in 1851. Asa Flagg was a partner with Henry Homan. Around 1895. The mold business was separated from the plating business and operated under the name Homan and Company. At that time, the plating business became known as The Homan Silver Plate Company. By 1905, the plating business was re-named The Homan Manufacturing Company. In 1906. A new factory was opened at 1050 Findlay Street, Cincinnati. I found them at an estate sale in the early 70's in a small town near Telluride. The caps work perfectly, screw/unscrew with ease. The shakers stand 2 1/2" tall the holder stands 4" at the handle and the set is 5 1/2" deep. On all pieces the bottom reads"M331" and the# 4 on the pepper, 3 on salt& 15 on mustard. RARE 1900-1940 VINTAGE MUSTARD POT ROBINSON & CO Ltd SILVERPLATE MADE IN ENGLAND
From an estate sale. This is a made in England mustard pot sold by Robinson& Co Ltd of Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. It lacks an indication of sterling silver, such as.925, so we can say only that it is probably silverplate. Robinson& Co had offices in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur(now known as Malaysia) beginning in the mid 1800's. However, Robinson& Co became a limited partnership in 1920, so this piece was made after 1919. It measures 4" from the end of the handle to the front. 2.5"W and 2.5"H to the peak of the top knob. It is in good condition with surface wear, probably from polishing, some pitting on the inside bottom, a small dent in the bottom, and is missing the glass liner.

English Old Sheffield Fused Silverplate Mustard Pot w/Glass Liner. 1770-1800 Presented is a charming old fused Sheffield silverplate mustard pot with a hinged lid and handle. The lid has the rolled sterling over the edge to prevent the underlying copper from showing through. This is typical of old Sheffield silverplate. The mustard pot dates to around 1770 to 1800. And certainly is from the last quarter of the 1700s. The mustard pot has an oval shape. It has three bands of a simple but stylish balustrade design around the body. The nice sweeping handle has a very finely ridged texture. The lid has a ball finial handle and a cut-out for a mustard spoon to sit. A blank cartouche on one side of the mustard pot is ready for your personal or family monogram or crest! The mustard pot has a really terrific clear glass liner. Original to the piece. ... moreThe glass is about ¼ inch think, so no wonder it has survived so long! Please scroll down to see our photographs. There are no maker's marks on this piece. But we are confident that it is from England and is old fused silverplate. We are also confident in its being over 200 years old, dating from the last quarter of the 1700s. There is some wear to the silverplating on this piece. Particularly to the bottom edge, to a small area of the handle near the hinge, a little on the lid, and to the interior of the body and the lid. The hinge has undergone some solder repairs to its attachment to both the lid and the handle over the years. The lid is fully attached to the hinge, but there is some wobble or give to it. Otherwise, this piece is in good condition. There are no dents, no dings, and no other problems of any kind. Height: 3 ¼ inches. Length from Handle to Opposite Side: 4 ½ inches. Width: 2 inches.
