Antique Royal Mfg. Co. PICKLE CASTOR - EAPG jar w/glass lid, Rogers Bros. FORK
A classic antique PICKLE CASTOR The silver plated frame was made by the Royal Manufacturing Company- 3 companies by that name are identified in the Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers- by Dorothy T. Rainwater& Martin and Colette Fuller. All of these firms operated in the USA for short periods during the first quarter of the 20th century in either New York. Newark, or Detroit. The frame stands 11" tall. It is topped with a lacy looking filigree header and decorated with an embossed band around the base. The holder will accommodate a jar measuring about 3.5" wide. Condition: Very Good- a few minor bumps over the years add to its lovely antique patina- No missing parts or repairs noted. The glass jar/insert and lid are a perfect fit for the frame and each other. My guess is that they are a marriage with the frame as I ... morebelieve they are older. The EAPG glass has a slight"sun purple" tint depending on the light. A pretty pattern of alternating frosted then clear vertical panels on the jar- all clear ribs on the lid that line up perfectly with those on the jar and match the clear ribs on the base of the insert. Measures: 6.25" tall w/lid. 4" tall without, 3.375" wide base. Condition: Very Good- with a"no harm" flake type chip on the base. And several chips to the inner rim of the lid- where it sits inside the jar(pic#7) several bubbles in the old glass. A 7.5" long"Vintage" pattern Pickle Fork from 1847 Rogers Bros. is included.

Aesthetic period decor- Leaves and flowers on the header. Up of sale is this pressed(possibly crystal? glass pickle castor in a fancy silver plate frame.The total height of the frame is 9 3/4" tall. The bottom of the frame is marked Pairpoint Silver Plate# 667. The silver plate has its original patina. The height of the pressed glass jar is 4 1/2" tall. It is in very condition with no nicks or flea bites at the top of the jar although there is a chip on the bottom of the insert. There is a pair of pickle tongs hanging from the side of the frame. Please note that there is a missing piece of decoration on the bottom back side of the frame.

Ebay Listing Page Antique Victorian Silverplate EAPG Consolidated Cone Pink Glass Pickle Castor Item Description: Up for auction is a beautiful antique Victorian era pink cased glass pickle castor. The pickle castor is in the Cone pattern and it was made by the Consolidated Lamp& Glass Co. between 1894-1900. The glass is cased with a white inner layer. A pink middle layer, and a clear outside layer giving it this effect. The castor retains its original metal lid, and overall the castor stands approximately 6 1/4" tall from the bottom to the top of the finial on the lid. The castor is housed in a silverplate frame with ornate embossed birds and flowers around the bottom. The frame stands about 10" tall, and it is only marked with the number 651 on the bottom. Item Condition: The overall condition of the castor is very good to ... moreexcellent. It is very clean and has no chips. Cracks, or broken areas except for the rim which has standard roughness as these are typically found. You can expect to find the typical flaws of older glass to include airbubbles, strawmarks, and other minor imperfections. This auction is for an old silver plated pickle castor with an amber Early American Pattern Glass insert. The bottom of the frame is marked Reed& Barton as seen in the pictures. I do not see any makers marks on the tongs and do not know if they are original or replaced along the way. The tongs are old and look great with the pickle castor. The frame stands about 9 1/2" high to the top of the handle and has 4 cupids/ cherubs around the middle. The amber glass insert stands just ... moreover 4" high. I do not see any chips or cracks in the glass insert. The frame could use some cleaning/polishing because there is some tarnishing. There is some wear to the plating where the glass insert sits inside the base. New Jersey residents please add 7% sales tax. Antique Victorian Wilcox Silver Plate Pickle Castor EAPG Etched Glass Jar This Wilcox quadruple silver plate pickle castor is a beautiful. Turn of the century piece. The castor is missing its lid and the side fork holder appears to be broken off. The bottom of the castor says"quadruple plate. Wilcox Silver Plate Co. 0693" The inside glass jar is very nice and appears to be EAPG. The bottom has some flea bites but is in overall great condition for its age. The jar is ridged and has a very nice etching around the upper band. The Wilcox Silver Plate company was based in Meriden. CT in the mid-1800's and produced some of the finest silver plated pieces. It measures approximately 11 inches tall and 6 inches wide. The glass is approximately 4 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Thanks for looking!

Antique Victorian Adelphi Silverplate Pickle Castor Blue EAPG Egyptian Revival
This auction is for a pretty antique pickle castor by Adelphi. The base of the silverplate castor has a row of nine embossed panels with floral scenes alternating with scenes of a figure walking through a garden. The top of the castor has a nice. Egyptian Revival style geometric design. The jar is a bright blue EAPG in a block design. The castor has the usual patina and plate loss and there are a couple tiny fleabites on the facets of the jar, but this is otherwise in good condition and displays beautifully. Also comes with a pair of hand form tongs. Measures approximately 12" tall when lidded and 4 1/2" wide.

Rendered in fine silverplate, the ornate Aesthetic caddy features an ornate triple owl decorated handle. Set with an Early American Pressed Glass(EAPG) insert made by the Boston& Sandwich Glass Company. The clear insert features three charming panels with landscape and cottage themes. There is no danger that it would unexpectedly tip during use from this wobble. There are no dents. The glass insert has a few scattered fleabite flakes to the lip and a chipped flake to the outer rim as pictured. There are no cracks. The tongs exhibit loss to the silverplate on the hands. This condition is consistent with age and use. Stands 11 7/8" in total height with a base measuring 4 5/16" The glass insert is 4 1/2" tall with a mouth and base diameter of 2 7/8" and 3 1/4" respectively. The tongs are 6 7/8" in length. Rare Mechanical Lift Pickle Castor ca. 1880– Frame#1270 Mfg'd& Plated by Reed& Barton is stamped on the bottom of this silver plated frame. This trick frame measures a tall 16” H x 7” W x 5 ¾” Deep. The set was inspired by the Gothic Revival of the late nineteenth century. Gothic Revival drew its inspiration from the medieval architecture of the sixteenth century. This tall Gothic styled frame was designed to be reminiscent of the flying buttresses and arched ceilings found in cathedrals throughout Europe. Even the turns that lift the mechanical lid have a Gothic shape. The frames patina is dark and consistent in color from the top to the bottom. It is a strong excellent frame. A three tine Victorian pickle fork attaches comfortably to the main frame arm.
