The glass insert measures 6 inches high to the finial on the cover and is 4 3/4 inches in diameter across the bottom of the jar. This fine silver plate piece features a round base with 4 cabriole feet in the Rococo style. It has oval medallions around the base with a scrolling acanthus leaf handle that raises above the base. The glass jar is acid etched and hand painted with a large landscape scene featuring a mother and child walking on a large estate. The painting is further enhanced with heavy applied gold enameling. One bottle seems to have original stopper. The rest are missing their toppers. The castor unit is made of silver electroplated metal. The handle seems to be missing its electroplating probably from use. Size: The entire set stands 14 inches tall 6 1/2 inches in diameter. The cruet bottle with stopper is 7" tall Castor sets were popular from the 1890s to the first world war. And were used in the center of every dining table. Condition: Very good pre-owned item. Silverplate has worn on handles and in other places on the piece. 4 bottles on missing their toppers. Every bo ... morettle has a different pattern. This wonderful celery vase is hallmarked in the bottom Racine Silverplate Co. Quadruplate and the numbers 752. That dates it to between 1873 to1882. Racine Silver Plate Co. Racine. WI 1873-1882 In 1882 moved to Rockford, ILand renamed the Rockford Silver Plate Co. after a firedestroyed the factory. The celery is great, the silverplate is about 70 per cent there(see picts) with no breaks to the metal and no dents.It stands on four feet goes to a wafer then up to leaves and a flower on either side, all decoation done on both sides. The handle goes to the top and has a circle,some swags and a droo ping bow right at the top.The celery holder has a ring border of a vivid v pattern and tinly circles with flowers in them.And leaves between the v pattern. There was a glass incert that came with the piece. But it does not go all the way down to the ... morebottom of the silverplate cup, so were thinking just for looks and the glass is not original to the piece, but we will include it in the auction any way.There are the letters l&h on one side.This was sealed years ago to keep it from turning black, this can be removed by placeing it hot water over night, then pealing it off. Antique Silverplate Cruet Castor Condiment Caddy
This is from one of our estate sales. I started to clean to show design. The cruets have two different stoppers. Not sure which is the original and they have some chipping on bottom of stoppers. Two of the shakers the tops come off. The other two shakers one short and one tall work fine. The caddy seems to be in good shape from dents or dings. Not sure of the condition and if all will clean or if there is pitting. It is smooth to the touch and does not feel like pitting. Still needs cleaning. Has what appears to be a repair on edge. The bottles are all etched. The handle has a pretty victorian lady on it. Very old wish was in better condition needs a new home and some TLC. Antique Pairpoint quarduple Silverplate Condiment Service circa 1880's- 1894's Used to serve jams. Jelly or sugar. Lidded urn with six serving spoons. It is marked on the underside"Pairpoint MFG Co. New Bedford Mass. It also has the id number 202s. The item is in great vintage condition. The only flaw is a tiny dimple dent- see last photo. In 1880. The Pairpoint Manufacturing Company(named after its first superintendent. Thomas J. Pairpoint, who was considered one of the greatest silver designers in England and America) was established in New Bedford to supply Mt. Washington with attractive silver-plated metal mounts. The companies thrived and in 1894 they merged and became known as the Pairpoint Corporation. This is a lovely piece that was part of my mother's vast collection of vintage glass and other items. RARE ANTIQUE 5 HOLE CASTOR STAND CONDIMENT HOLDER SILVERPLATE POT METAL PEWTER
Up for auction my RARE ANTIQUE c1800's 5 HOLE POT METAL PEWTER look CASTOR HOLDER STAND. This is a great old Castor Stand measuring 13 1/2" tall X 6" diameter at the widest point. Each of the 5 holes measures 1 3/4" diameter. This appears to have been silver plated in its prime. However most of that has worn off. This is a very old piece, mid to late 1800's and these metal holders did not stand up well to heavy daily use. They were usually replaced several times in the lifetime of the glass Castor Set itself. These are hard to come by and I truly hate to part with it. This has a wonderful Old World pewter look. It retains its original old patina. This looks used. There is a slight bend in the outer ring and salt or corrosion at the feet(see photos) and a small ding or two. There are no cracks, breaks or repairs. This ... moreis beautifully and artfully designed, with a finely detailed carry handle and 3 fancy feet. Beneath the carry handle there is a detailed peas-in-a-pod or corn-row motif. Overall the piece has a simple elegance. This is one of the nicer Castor Stands I have seen over the years. This is not junk. It is solid and sturdy. It stands well with good balance. It is well made, quite heavy. These really are hard to come by so this is a great find. I am downsizing and need to let some of my favorite possessions go. Fresh from a lovely estate. Traditionally a condiment holder. I call this the"anything holder" because it can function in so many ways. I can see this(even without the top) on a desk for paperclips. Or without the top for wrapped candy, or with the top for condiments- I think I like it for paperclips best! But you get what I'm saying- its only limits are your imagination. Made by Rogers& Bro. as signified on the silverplate base(see photo) Their logo is followed by"294. and"U.S.A. Just a delightful base with a fanning swirl pattern and 4 little raised pieces that hold the crystal insert in place. Adorable little legs hold the piece up to a height of 1 1/8" The base measures approximately 6 1/2" x 4 3/4" The cut-out cradles the crystal insert. Which measures 2 1/2" high with a 3 1/2" top ... moreopening. The silverplate top rises another 3 3/4" beyond that. The base condition is very good to excellent- needs a polish. No dings. The crystal insert is good to very good condition, no chips. No cracks in the top portion- only one chip(which could be ground out) at the very bottom- so you can't see it when it sits inside the silverplate base. The top looks like someone polished it too much and it has some dings on the inside rim which you don't see when it is on. see photos) Maybe that's why I'd use it without the top for my paperclips! Up for sale a lovely antique condiment/cruet castor set-silverplate. This has an engraved carousel and includes the salt& pepper shakers. A mustard jar and the vinegar& oil cruets. The bottles are etched with a pretty design,and are in great condition with the exception of 1 small chip on the edge of one of the cruets. Also the bottom of one of the stoppers has some chipping on the piece that fits in the bottle. I also noted a small chip spot on the metal of the mustard jar.Please see all pictures-I try to note everything I see. This has no markings, Mother" is engraved on the side of the carousel-picture 3. The rim along the side has beautiful engraving of leaves and a pretty scrolling design-runs around the entire rim. Also the bottom has the number 35 imprinted. There is an old receipt from the previous owner showing purchased ... morein 1981 from the Galloping Horse Antique Store-with original purchase price of $250.00. Which I would send with the holder. A nice set-not perfect but I was told this dates from late 1800's to early 1900's-although I will say I am definitely not an expert on this. Also I have not cleaned the silverplate-I think its coloring gives it character. I also am including a silverplate spoon-just decorative-not original to the piece-I added it for a little more finished look. This is an antique cruet/condiment set from a local estate. We believe that it is Victorian. It is plated and measures approximately 15" tall and 7 1/2" in diameter. The bottles are cut and etched. And they measure between 5 3/4" and 8 1/2" tall. The silver plating appears to be similar to the plating on old water pitchers and hotel/restaurant silver pieces. it measures approx. 9" tall by 8.75" long. the bottom of the tray is marked in circles H&H and then a eagle. the two matching spoons have different hall marks. the two cups match. But have no hall marks. all the crystal match and looks hand blown[ but no expert here] the caps on the crystal pieces have no marks. one unscrews the other has a hinge opening. the feet are very pronounced ball and claw. the handle is pretty fancy also. no dents or damage. some silver loss especially on the spoons. 1881 Rogers Antique Meriden Condiment Castor, Server-Etched Glass- Silverplate
A beautiful estate find. Marked Rogers Smith. Meriden Ct. All the parts are present and really in decent condition for its age. It rotates like a lazy susan around the middle so you don't have to pick it up and turn it. The picture of the complete set looks a little wonky but in reality all the bottles and jars sit quite upright in the holder. There are two things to report: in picture 8 you can see the maker's mark to the right of the round hole that the bottle sits in. To the left of that hole is an inverted dent as though something hit it from below at some point. Honestly, I did not notice this until I was uploading the pictures and seeing it all very close up. Also, the stopper on one of the bottles is not as pointed as the other as it has been ground down somewhat. These are typical blemishes for a piece as old as this one and ... moreif they are glaring imperfections is a judgment call on the part of the buyer. So look closely and ask any questions you may have. This is an old item and has wear indicative of that age. I leave the cleaning of the piece to you. It is just as I found it at the Estate Auction. But I think it will clean up nicely.

I've had this forever, and I don't know the exact age. the top of the container has an engraved initials, MB or MJ, it's very scrolly. It is 3" high and 3" wide. The spoon is 4 3/4" long. The silverplate holder is made of beautifully detailed castings with no breaks or damages. Its only imperfection is that a good deal of the original silverplating has worn off over the years. We were told by the gentleman we purchased it from that the original chain had been replaced. The beautiful satin glass swan(last 3 photos from bottom) has some normal wear and tiny flakes along the base. We’ve shown a close up of the inside of the bottom so you can see 2 very faint lines that were from the manufacturing process and are guaranteed not cracks or damages. Antique Silverplate Condiment Set. Very Unique: for the inventive decorator this condiment set is just right. The silver plate set dates back to the end of the 19 th century and was probably used for condiments related to oysters or shell fish. You can have a pot of hot sauce. A saffron mayonnaise and a cilantro sauce. The small cylinder like containers on the corners would hold bouquets of parsley, chives and cilantro. The set consists of a plateau on four ball feet with the small screw on cylinders at the corners. In the center are three pots. Each with a lid, one with a dome lid. The pots fits just so in their slots and the lids also fit just one way. Give them a slight twist and they are closed tight. Condition is good for its age; there is some rose shines of the underlying copper as is normal for a piece this age. There is one spot ... moreon one of the small cylinders that has lost all plating and some of the little petals on the cylinders are somewhat bent. The set is completely unmarked, indicating it was made before the McKinley Tariff Act. Measurements are: 7 5/8” by 4 ¼” platform. Both stoppers flea-bites and roughness around the bottom part where they enter the bottles. The shaker lid does not stay put when you shake the bottle and falls off- seems to need to be adjusted. Also some roughness on the rim of the shaker bottle. The glass has some air bubbles and flaws you would expect in glass of this age. I do not believe the silver spoon is original to the set. This auction is for an elegant. Antique two tier condiment server by Richard Richardson silverplate. The handled caddy has an art nouveau footed base. The top bowl is cased cranberry glass with a richly enameled design complete with fruit and a butterfly. Its base fits snugly into the top holder. The bottom bowl is a clear ruffled cranberry glass. The spoons are also both hallmarked Richard Richardson silverplate. This is a really nice, complete Sheffield serving piece. There is plate wear to the caddy as shown, the screws need to be adjusted, and there are minor scuffs to the glass where it rubs against the holder, but overall this is in very good condition for its age. Elegant Antique Silverplate Condiment Carousel with Five Cut Glass Bottles
A beautiful antique Meriden Silver Plate Co. condiment carousel. Which includes five cut glass bottles, three with silver plate tops, two with glass stoppers. The unit does spin and comes apart for storage. It is decorated with leaves and flowers. It stands about 17 inches tall. The circular bottle holder is about seven inches across. The tall bottles with the glass stoppers are 9 1/2 inches tall. All pieces are in good shape. Although if you look at the circular bottle holder from below, it is slightly flattened on one side. This really isn't noticeable at all from the top though.
