This is a Antique/ Vintage Hallmarked English Silverplate 6 Slice Toast Rack. This beautiful old toast rack was purchased in England. The silverplate is gleaming and this heavy toast rack appears to be of very high quality. It weighs 10.4 ounces and it has maximum overall dimensions of 5 3/4" x 3 1/2" The height to the tops of the rings is 3 1/4" and the height to the top of the handle is 5 1/2" We have limited knowledge of British sterling hallmarks. But we do not have any expertise with respect to silverplate hallmarks. I did some cursory research but was not able to find out anything specific about the maker or the age. The marks are shown in a closeup photo. They are(from left to right) a cartouche with a old English capital letter. I cannot identify the letter nor its meaning. Based on the next cartouche I thought ... moreit might be the first portion of the maker's mark. a cartouche with Bro and a superscript's' I thought this might be the second portion of the maker's mark. a cartouche with an old English capital S. I thought that this. In conjunction with the follow EP that the S was for silver but I do not know for sure. Found at an estate auction.here is an antique English Silverplate TOAST RACK made by THOMAS BRADBURY& SONS. Sheffield, England. The old maker's mark TB&S in the shield dates this piece 1858-1863 and 1892-1916. The impressed mark other side of the bottom reveals the place where this piece was offered for sale: HARRODS in London. This rack has room for five slices and it has a handsome braided twist detail around the rim of the tray and braid forms the two side handles. The tray sits on four ball feet. Condition is excellent. I see no scratch. Dent, ding and no loss the the heavy plating. It could use some polishing but it otherwise looks amazingly new, especially considering this piece is likely over 100 years old.

Mappin & Webb Heart Shaped Silverplate Toast Rack W14421
This is a great little toast rack. It was manufactured in England by Mappin and Webb LTD. The company started in 1775. And is still in business today. It operates near Sheffield England is known for its quality silver and silverplate pieces. And holds a warrant as"Silversmith to the Queen" This toast rack is silverplate. It has 5 upside-down hearts and sits on a footed base. The feet are round balls. The hearts are taller at the ends and get gradually smaller as you move toward the middle of the rack. This is quite a small piece. So it probably is not used for toast, but rather for something smaller. It measures 3.25" long, 2" wide and is 3.25" tall to the top of the finger loop. It is in very good condition with a nice patina consistent with its age. There is a bit of excess silver on the bottom of one foot as you ... morecan see in the photos. Vintage Silverplate English egg boiler, toast rack and egg server with tray!
Wow! This compiled and collected set is worth well over $1000! I had the tray resilvered myself many years ago at a cost of $475 alone! The tray has some minor scratching from use. The other pieces are in excellent condition. They only need polishing. I have these listed together as I used them as a set, but they are actually from various makers for a collected look. The boiler is complete and from England with the inner rings and spirit burner. The egg server was purchased from an antique dealer in England and is complete. The toast rack and tray finish the look. Breakfast in bed or Downton Abbey style in the dining room. This set is gorgeous in service or simply setting on your sideboard for all to see. I am downsizing so all reasonable offers will be considered. Thanks for looking and please see my other items.
