The Chesapeake Hospice Consignment Store asked me to sell some donations. Offered here is an antique wood. Porcelain and silverplate biscuit barrel. It came if from an antique store with a label saying it was circa 1870. The barrel is made of oak wood. The bands, handle, lid and shield are all silverplate with the lid marked EPNS. The inside is lined in porcelain. The barrel is 6.25 inches tall, not including the lid or handle. The porcelain is crazed and the silverplate could use a polish, but it is in otherwise very good condition. Handsome Antique English Inkstand in Silverplate & Cut Crystal c.1900
A most handsome late Victorian Inkstand/ Double Inkwell. Made from hefty silverplate with two wonderful cut crystal inkwells. The base stands on four original bun feet with a beautifully shaped outline with a raised border incorporating shell motifs. There are two supports to the front of the desk set, for resting one's dip pen. The top is marked EPNS for Electro-Nickel Plated Silver and the underside has the full makers mark for the Birmingham silversmith, JOHNSON, DURBAN& CO. LTD. this mark was only used from 1897 to 1904 allowing us to date this piece accurately. The two heavy crystal inkwells are an unusual"pyramid" shape with fitted circular collars and hinged square lids. The underside of each is deeply hand cut in the ever-popular hobnail design. Antique English Equestrian Oak & Silverplate Dinner Gong c.1890/1900
A fabulous and most unusual dinner gong made from solid English Oak and silver plate. The gong itself supported by two grand Antler horns. The top is crowned with a pair of crossed riding crops with the gong secured here. The cord has been replaced as these are always on their last legs if they are present at all. I have left some length on the back making it easier to shorten if it stretches with time also making it easy to remove for polishing the gong if necessary. Just give the gong a straighten up after shipping so that it doesn't get in the way of the horns. The gong comes with a wooden headed strike again with a riding crop handle. Antique English Novelty Silverplate Cruet Set - Horseshoe / Jockey c.1880
For the equestrian collector or horse racing devotee. This figural cruet set is quite the charmer. The base is a horseshoe shape with a spur terminal on the handle. At the front is an upturned Jockey's cap as an open salt with a gilded interior. The mustard and pepper are in the form of riding boots, the mustard pot complete a spoon with riding crop handle. The riding boots are removable from the stand. What makes this more desirable than others I have had is the central piece between the boots with a Jockey cap lid. Once pulled out a tiny spoon is revealed which is in fact a Cayenne pepper spoon. most unusual. The underside has full marks for the silversmith, G.R. Collis& Son of London, 130 Regent Street. This is a Antique/ Vintage Hallmarked English Silverplate 6 Slice Toast Rack. This beautiful old toast rack was purchased in England. The silverplate is gleaming and this heavy toast rack appears to be of very high quality. It weighs 10.4 ounces and it has maximum overall dimensions of 5 3/4" x 3 1/2" The height to the tops of the rings is 3 1/4" and the height to the top of the handle is 5 1/2" We have limited knowledge of British sterling hallmarks. But we do not have any expertise with respect to silverplate hallmarks. I did some cursory research but was not able to find out anything specific about the maker or the age. The marks are shown in a closeup photo. They are(from left to right) a cartouche with a old English capital letter. I cannot identify the letter nor its meaning. Based on the next cartouche I thought ... moreit might be the first portion of the maker's mark. a cartouche with Bro and a superscript's' I thought this might be the second portion of the maker's mark. a cartouche with an old English capital S. I thought that this. In conjunction with the follow EP that the S was for silver but I do not know for sure. However, I did find quite few other makers' marks with an S adjacent to, but separate from, EP a cartouche with EP sideways. This seems almost certainly to be for Electro Plate. Large silverplate samovar antique-English?
Outstanding Silverplate samovar that measures 18 inches tall and 15 inches from handle to handle. This piece is very desirable with a very bright luster and no wear marks of any kind. The upper rim is finely chased as well as the double handle mounts. This piece is very heavy and has an extra thickness of metal on the bowl and the footed base. The silver luster is very brilliant and no polishing is needed. I could not find a makers name but there is a heavy plate with a square nut that may reveal a maker. Found at an estate auction.here is an antique English Silverplate TOAST RACK made by THOMAS BRADBURY& SONS. Sheffield, England. The old maker's mark TB&S in the shield dates this piece 1858-1863 and 1892-1916. The impressed mark other side of the bottom reveals the place where this piece was offered for sale: HARRODS in London. This rack has room for five slices and it has a handsome braided twist detail around the rim of the tray and braid forms the two side handles. The tray sits on four ball feet. Condition is excellent. I see no scratch. Dent, ding and no loss the the heavy plating. It could use some polishing but it otherwise looks amazingly new, especially considering this piece is likely over 100 years old.

Lovely Antique English Henry Williamson Ltd Silverplate Breakfast Serving Tray

As one can clearly see it is certainly ergonomically designed with a bread or toast rack. A shell motif marmalade dish, two cups for boiled eggs along with two spoons. The two cups sit on two pins and the two spoons rest within two semicircle rings. The piece is footed with two spheres on one side and two claw like feet on the other. The bottom is marked with the Henry Williamson hallmark along with EPNS for electroplated nickel silver and dates to sometime between 1905-1915. It has some wear throughout consistent with age and use along with tarnished areas. There may be areas where the plating is worn altogether. The small semicircles show some bending though still hold the spoons in place. There is one wing nut missing that holds the center trays handle in place but does not detract from its function and holds well in place. I believe it would not be difficult to replace it. The spoons are monogrammed and I do not believe they are the original spoons. These detailed descriptions certainly do not detract from the general aesthetics or functionality of the piece and are only mentioned for accuracy. It is much bigger than you usually find. It is all one piece(the barrel attached to the under plate and a hinged lid on the barrel) It is beautifully hand chased with a floral motif and has a center cartouche on the front, free of any monogram. Size: Measures about 10 1/8" wide. About 8 1/2" tall and about 7 1/2" deep. The top oval opening of the barrel is about 8" x 5 1/2" Maker: Israel Freeman& Son. Made in England. These vegetable serving dishes have a beautiful design. The lids have a handle on each side. The rims are wonderfully gadrooned. The lids can also be used as a serving dish when turned over. They date from circa late 1800s through the early 1900s. These serving dishes are in good overall condition. There wear to the silverplate on the bottom of one dish. This is on the bottom side.
