Offered for your bid is this lovely. Although in need of a bit of restoration, silverplate egg coddler warmer from Sheffield, England. It is a William Hutton piece, produced sometime between 1902 and 1930 when the cross arrows mark was used. The finial on the cover has been broken. It is ebonized wood. It can be removed from the top of the cover(see photo included that shows the inside of the cover) and replaced. Otherwise, the piece is in quite good condition for its age and use. There is another piece that is sometimes found with these coddlers, a holder for several eggs. There was none with this coddler. It measures approximately 8 1/2 inches high and the bowl is approximately 4 1/2 inches in diameter. Payment by Paypal is expected within 7 days from auction end date. Antique Victorian Silverplate Egg Coddler by Mappin& Webb Prince’s Plate Up for auction is a lovely Victorian egg codler by Mappin& Webb. Prince’s Plate. It is missing the egg plate insert as well as the warmer. Other than that the condition of the coddler is very good. As usual. It could always use a little additional cleaning and polishing if you so choose. The coddler comes with the bottom. To which you add water to the fill line and the top. The dome top is hand chased with floral and what appears to be fruit garlands. The bottom rests on three ball feet. There is some engraving where the legs meet the body. I would place this piece in the latter part of the 1800’s. Mappin& Webb traces its' roots back to 1775 when 18 year old Jonathan opened a cutlery business in Sheffield. That business took hold and grew as it was handed ... moredown through the generations. In 1860 the youngest Mappin brother broke away from his brothers and started Mappin& Company. He was eventually joined by his brother in law Webb. They became one of the best know and highly regarded companies in Britain. Victorian egg castor in silverplate measures 10" tall and 5 1/4" wide. It holds 4 egg cups which sit on little spindles and 4 egg spoons. six pre-1936 English silverplate egg cups with stand - Martin Hall & Co.
This auction is for a set of 6(six) antique English silver-plated. Beaded-edge egg cups with a matching handled stand. If you’re going for a Downton Abbey vibe, this is definitely for you! The markings on the bottom(detailed below) include a tiny shield-shaped mark that says“MH& Co” According to my online research. That was the mark of the silversmiths Martin Hall& Co. which was established in Sheffield, England in 1852 and went out of business in 1936. The company’s full name was Richard Martin, Ebenezer Hall& Co. The stand’s handle can be very easily attached and removed via a hand-turnable screw on the bottom. I will ship it with the handle detached to avoid damage in shipment. MARKINGS: There are several markings on the bottom of the tray that are not entirely legible. In addition to the“MH& Co” shield mark. There’s a ... morerow of 4 stamped Gothic-style capital letters that may be E, P, G, and S; and the number“7451” or“7461. Also on the bottom of the stand, there are some almost invisible freehand-scratched marks that I can’t read, but they look like“12 L219” a tiny word(maybe“Williams” and a totally illegible scrawl about 4 characters long. There aren’t any markings indicating silver plate, but it’s definitely NOT solid sterling silver, because of the condition problem described next. CONDITION: I don’t see ANY significant scratches. Dents, dings, etc. anywhere. However, the set has been unused in storage for nearly 50 years, with the cups stored in place on the stand, and a condition problem has developed where the cups rested on the stand. See photos; the under-lit photo shows the problem best. Where the circular bottoms of the egg cups have been resting on the stand, dark rings of tarnish have appeared(mostly removed by me with silver polish, but there is still conspicuous stain that I couldn’t get up) and in a couple of small but visible areas on those tarnish“rings, the silver plate has actually deteriorated to the point that the underlying base metal(which is discolored green) h

This vintage silverplate egg cup serving set is made by the British firm Daniel& Arter of Birmingham. They were in business around 1902. The elegant set consists of a silver plate holder with four handled egg cups and four spoons. All securely lodged onto the carrier. The set has four small ball feet and is marked D& A and EPNS. The silver plated egg cup has a removable white porcelain liner with a gold band around the edge. An Egyptian Revival motif with an archer and bow and palm trees is etched into the exterior of the handled silver plate cup and repeated on the saucer rim. The saucer does appear to have a hallmark but we could not read all of it. CX appear so be the first mark. We are selling this for the original family. Current owner is now 92 and she used this item as a child. She also did live in Mexico for a time when young. This piece may originate from Mexico. Saucer is about 3.75" in Diameter. Silver plate cup is about 1" tall and about 1.5" in diameter. Porcelain cup is ... moreabout1.5" tall and 1.5" in diameter. The silver plate was quite tarnished but polished well for pictures. 1910 Silverplate 4 egg Coddler w/Burner, Hotel? Railroad?
This is a beautiful 1910 Silver-plate 4 egg coddler that has been marked on the base with; 1910. 2 flags on a staff, A1, warranted hard soldered, RR, 630, and a sun-mark as well. It also has the number(4) stamped into the inside of the lid as well as along the base rim itself. This tri-footed beauty measures 8" high by 5" at its widest point of the base, with the lid coming n at 4 1/2" in diameter. as seen in the photos, it is in pristine shape needing only a little polishing from the new owner. The detailing on this piece is great from the Art Deco finial on top, to the ball and claw feet. The burner has even been labeled with"Deep" and"Shallow" depending on how much water would/will be used in the coddling of eggs. I believe it to be either Hotel ware or possibly an old railroad piece. Either way its definitely ... moregood quality and would make a lovely addition to anyones collection.

Vintage Silverplate English egg boiler, toast rack and egg server with tray!
Wow! This compiled and collected set is worth well over $1000! I had the tray resilvered myself many years ago at a cost of $475 alone! The tray has some minor scratching from use. The other pieces are in excellent condition. They only need polishing. I have these listed together as I used them as a set, but they are actually from various makers for a collected look. The boiler is complete and from England with the inner rings and spirit burner. The egg server was purchased from an antique dealer in England and is complete. The toast rack and tray finish the look. Breakfast in bed or Downton Abbey style in the dining room. This set is gorgeous in service or simply setting on your sideboard for all to see.
