Which measures 20 inches long by 14 inches wide by 14 inches tall, and which is in very good condition for its age of more than one hundred years. This handsome piece is marked on the inside as shown in photo#7. There is no damage and no repair and the patina is dark and slightly variable. The handle is cast pewter and is tight and held in place by a threaded screw and round nut. The rim is decorated with a cast pewter trim element(photo 10) This piece may be plated in silver but is not so marked. Which measures 14 inches long by 11 inches wide by 8 inches tall, and which is in very good condition for its age of more than one hundred years. This handsome piece is marked on the inside as shown in photos 7-9. There is no real damage but for the slight bump visible in the photos and no repair. The patina is fairly dark and very smooth. It was made by William Hutton. Sheffield, c.1880. Condition is good for age. There are a couple of shallow bruises& dinks and some small surface scratches. The silver plating is still very good. The dome has been cleaned and has a wonderful mirror shine. Smith Silver Co. Bridgeport Conn. Early 20th Century Food Dome. I have not polished this dome as I wanted to keep it with it's original patina. On the inside there is one triangle pointing left and one triangle pointing right with an s in the middle and Silver Soldered underneath it. Underneath that. Is the number 800 and 10in, as shown in photo's. This Food Dome has elongated raised lines with a beautiful patina that comes with age. On the front of the dome is a stamp that has some type of bird at the very top surrounding a flower or plant. This part is hard to define due to the age, but I have photo's so that you may see for further examination. It is a beautiful piece of history for collection or for serving food. Happy Bidding!

A recent estate sale purchase. This silverplate food warmer is 11" long including handles. 8.5" tall and 8.25" wide from front to back. It has a revolving dome cover which features the original Bakelite knob which is often missing. The server has beautiful paw feet. This early 1900s warming plate is crafted of solid copper with heavy nickel(silver? plate and features a colorful transfer wear oval platter that appears to be English. It measures 20” handle to handle x 15” wide. It is mounted with ebonized hard wood handles and is designed for the under tray to be filled with hot water to keep food warm during service. You are bidding on a vintage silverplated food cover dome. It is unmarked. Cover has good weight. It has a tilted handle that may have become damaged from being dropped. May be able to be restored to its original position. Handle is sturdy and firmly intact with no apparent repairs. Around the outside there is a 1 1/4" wide raised etching of flowers. Birds, dragonflies and butterflies. The design does not repeat. This wonderful cover could use a good polishing as it has darkened over time. Unusual Floral & Foliate Engraved Meat / Food Dome With Birds by Walker & Hall
A stunning and quite charming silver plated food dome or cover. With a wonderful and most unusual aesthetic engraved decoration in a floral and foliate design; with a couple of the most adorable birds(Swallows) incorporated. Take a good look at the photographs, it was hard to capture with the surface reflecting. The underside of the handle is clearly marked for the top-notch English silversmith, Walker& Hall of Sheffield, this mark dates the piece to around 1890, late Victorian in era. Elkington Silver Food Dome Set of Four, dated 1883, Beautiful Condition
Elkington British Silver Electroplate Food Domes. Set of Four, dated 1883 I am offering for sale a set of four Elkington silver plate food domes. In beautiful antique condition. They aren't perfect as they have been used in the past and I have done my best to highlight any imperfections in the photos. These domes were purchased in a lot many years ago, stored and forgotten but have been delicately brought back to life and deserve a place where they can be used and admired. All of the pieces have a beautifully monogramed W on each side. I recently had these pieces evaluated at Bonham's in Los Angeles. And although it wasn't a formal certification(cost prohibitive) they confirmed that the pieces were indeed authentic, of the age I have indicated and that they could fetch as much as $1500 in their present condition. Specifics X Large ... moreDome: 16 L x 12.5 W x 7 H(10 H with handle) Underneath the handle there are some scratches suspected to be from taking the handle off and on for cleaning. When the handle is attached you do not notice the scratching. There is also a small dent at the top that is not noticeable when the handle is attached. This dome had the most tarnish and could do with further work but with some elbow grease and determination it can be easily sorted. Large Dome: 14 L x 11.5 W x 6 H(9 H with handle) This dome has had some repair work done which is slightly noticeable as indicated in pictures 8& 9. Medium Dome: 12 L x 10 W x 5 H(8 H with handle) This dome is in excellent condition and has polished up beautifully. There are small typical scratches from use but otherwise is unblemished. Small Dome: 10 L x 8 W x 4.5 D(7 H with handle) This dome has a small dent and a small repair(see pictures 10. 11& 12) neither of which detract from it's beauty. The domes are all marked with an ELKINGTON& Co on one end of the rim. And on the opposite there are the stamps which indicate the age. A lovely and impressive 1850's addition to your dining table for the holidays or any other festive occasion. The dome has the popular melon shape and is topped with an extra large. 6.25 inch figure of a pumpkin growing along a leafy vine. The detail is incredible with long tendrils, pumpkin blossoms, extra large leaves and a very large, pumpkin shape. Very impressive early piece. There are two, very minute, pinpoint and hardly noticeable marks and a small scratch on the piece but nothing that isn’t consistent with its age and use. Considering this, the food meat dome cover can be described as EXCELLENT ESTATE CONDITION with no repairs. Flaking or silver wear to note. The outside has a mirror like shine. A gorgeous piece that is not easily found in this condition and one that won’t disappoint the new owner. Imagine your guests delight when you take off the cover to reveal a tasty turkey, prime rib, pork roast or whatever you will be serving for the holidays.
