Nice little vintage silent butler. Over 9" in length. The wood handle is about 5 1/2" long. Gild patina on silver plate and wood. Mark on bottom as shown. I've not been able to clarify the maker. It's possible it is silver. But very well could be silver plate so I'm pricing it as such. It looks like it reads Mexico Platfad something or Platead something. Wood is in great shape. VERY NICE antique crumb catcher in gently used condition. Handle unscrews(detaches) for cleaning. Shown in photos with and without handle. The picture with handle shows piece before tarnish was removed. I used Martha Stewart's method of baking soda in an aluminum pan and it cleaned up beautifully. Marked on bottom The Sheffield Silver Co with the#269 Fabulous unicorn emblem! There is a light scuff below the emblem. You can see the scuff in the pic; I can not feel it with my hand. Otherwise. The condition of this piece, including the handle is in very good used condition. Shown with and without the handle. Measures 7.5" x 5.5" and weighs just under 1 LB. Measures approx. 6 1/4" long. Approx. 8 1/4" to the tip of the handle, and approx. 1" deep It does show a lot of discoloration(I have not cleaned it) The inside is very clean but it has a few small pit marks as shown in my pictures. Antique Victorian silent butler/ crumb catcher*Webster spider web& star mark*Applied relief grapes border*Engraved Griffins in the center*2 piece set Offered here is an antique Victorian silent butler or crumb catcher. This is made by E.B. Webster and marked with the spiderweb and star marking on both pieces with the number 76. The pieces have an applied relief border of grape vines. The center is a elaborate engraved design of two Griffins facing each other, the scroll work continues on the matching scraper. The tray is a modified half circle measuring 9" across by 5 1/2" wide, 3/4" deep, it is curved and rounded on the round side and comes to a flat edge in the front so the crumbs can be swept into the tray. The"scraper" matches the lower part of the circular shape, it is 7" across by 2 3/4" wide and ... morehas a 4" long handle. Overall excellent vintage condition, no dents or damage to the metal, the finish is fair, shows nice, it does have some surface scratches and a few dark spots.
