It is SIGNED on the base in black enamel script"ALADIN" and"Made ... morein France. R2" There is also an underglaze incised"S" or maybe a"4" Aladin items are extremely scarce, and always coveted- produced from circa 1900- 1930- and are contemporaneous with porcelains from Boulogne-sur-Mer in Northern France. I saw another signed Aladin piece with the same flower design, that also had"E. Molineau" impressed on the base. The base edge flares out slightly. The domed lid has an opening on the edge for a little spoon. The knob is in the shape of a chestnut. Acorn or nut surrounded by leaves. The background color is a rich yellow, and there are hand painted eggplant purple cabbage flowers& black leaves on the edges. There are Chinese or Japanese style Cherry blossoms on branches around the sides of the pot, with a cinnabar red background and rich yellow band at top. This fantastic Aladin moutardier. Pot a moutarde measures 3" high x 2 1/4" across at the widest point. It is in really excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is a small area on the yellow band around the top of the pot(not the lid) where the yellow looks a little lighter, but that is not wear. The yellow color was just brushed on a bit thinner there. An exceptional pieces for the discerning collector who appreciates rare and unique things. SHIPPING TO USA. Vintage Homan SIlver plate Mustard Jar Holder no jar Mustard Pot Excellant Cond.
The Homan Company went out of business in 1941. I don't know the exact age of this mustard pot. But we do know it over 70 years old. It is apparent that was used at some point in its lifetime, but it has been well taken care of. Research tells me that there was originally a glass jar that fit inside to hold your mustard. Jellies, or other condiments. If you are buying it to use, not just as a decorative piece, I believe that it will be fairly easy find a jar to fit it. I ship very promptly upon receipt of payment. Beautiful old pepper pot with matching mustard pot. You could use the mustard pot as a master salt since the salt shaker is missing. There are no maker's marks or metal content. No information at all on either piece. There is an embossed floral pattern between the legs on each piece. Outside measurements approx. 7 1/2(including handle) by 3 1/2 by 4 1/8 in. at highest point. Condition: Excellent; no dings or dents. No major scratches. Cap on pepper pot screws on and off easily; hi nged lid of mustard pot sits almost perfectly. Just very slightly raised. It is the metal parts only, the glass once in them is missing. Lot consists of a very nice quality mustard pot which w/ weighted base& hinged lid that is about 5” tall. Thru the wear on the bottom of the base I can see it is Sheffield plate- silver over copper, however it is unmarked. The square holder is marked“made in England” on the bottom& is abt. 2” square by 2.5” tall, the round shaker w/ separate top(that has some corrosion inside in one area as shown) is unmarked& abt 4” tall& diameter of a tad over 1.5” and the round holder piece is also unmarked& measures abt 2 2/3” across by 2.75” tall. SILVER PLATE on COPPER 3 PIECE CONDIMENT SET The open salt and lidded mustard have very deeply pattern mounts of shells. Leaves and gadroons. Their corners are indented into the bowls and have lion head masks feet, there are no makers marks. The mustard has a wide ribbed handle with a shell thumb grip to lift the lid. The pepper has lion head masks feet. A slightly different mount with shells and gadroons, it have could come from a different, although very similar set. The mustard spoon is Old English pattern stamped England on the back. The salt is 4 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 2" deep. Mustard 5 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" Pepper 2 1/4" x 22 x 4" The open salt is in very good condition on the outside. The inside has some large patches of base metal showing. For sale i have an old silver plated condiment set. The pierced metal holder will accommodate 5 bottles but it only has 3, the central handle is in tact and has no repairs which is often the case. on the underneath of the tray it is stamped 4470 and there is another tiny mark like a 4 petal flower.it could do with a good clean so it looks its best, the feet are ornate ad the central panel to the pierced rail is engraved AHW, some minor pitting to the base of the tray most likely caused by the condiments, inside the mustard pot lid it is etched a222 although the a could be a 4 not positive, the glass bottles are all in good undamaged condition and the cut glass is crisp, 2 removable pierced lids are a very tight fit, 185mm long overall height approx 21cm i will post internationally and have quoted for the worst case scenario. This silverplate mustard pot and open salt comes with the dark cobalt glass inserts. The inserts are in great condition with no chips or cracks. The silver plate appears to be over copper and is showing through in some locations as you can see in the pics. While seeing a good bit of use. These are in great condition. There are no dents. This listing also includes the silverplate spoon. The bottom plate measures 10" by 4 1/4" The lidded mustard pot measures 4" long, 3 3/8" wide and 2 5/8" tall to the finial. The open salt measures 4" long, 3 3/8" wide and 1 3/4" tall. The set does have some heft weighing a total of about 2 pounds. Be sure to check out my other listings.
