VICTORIAN MERIDEN FIGURAL SILVERPLATE POWDER JAR DRESSER SET pickle castor form
Just acquired out of a wonderful Private Midwest estate. We are able to offer this exceptionally hard to find, ~ MERIDEN FIGURAL SILVERPLATE DRESSER SET WITH ALL THREE ORIGINAL CUT& ETCHED GLASS BOTTLES ~. We have never seen this early example of Meriden silverplate, and I am quite certain that not many were ever made or exist as well. It is marked MERIDEN SILVER CO# 46 and dates to the early 1880's we would estimate. It measures 15 inches tall by 10 inches wide by 5 inches deep. It is in very nice condition, although it could use a gentle polishing. The silverplate looks to be in pretty nice condition with some fairly minor expected wear from age and use. The amazing thing is that this set was found with all three original cut glass inserts that are in fabulous condition! There are two cologne bottles and one lidded powder jar in ... morethe upper center. There are no chips or cracks on any of the pieces and only a few little flea bites around where the stoppers go in the cologn bottles. I can't imagine that you could ever find a nicer example to add to your Victorian silverplate collection than this one here. This would also make a unique addition to a pickle castor collection as it has a very similar form. Antique Silverplate DSCO Ornate Dresser Mirror and Brush
For bidding is a beautiful antique silverplate dresser mirror and brush by DSCO. Both pieces have beveled edges and raised ornate flowers. Both are stamped on the handles with"DSCO. Patent July 20, 1915" and the number"95. Like others, I have been unable to identify the maker. The mirror is 6-1/2 inches wide and 11-3/4 inches long. The mirror glass is beveled and measures 5 inches in diameter. The glass shows minor discoloration. The brush is 3-1/2 inches wide and 9 inches long.The bristles are in very good condition but have a very slight movement. Both pieces show very little tarnish but could use some polishing. A really pretty set. From a smoke-free home.

Antique REPOUSSE Silverplate Dresser Box SIGNED Apple Picking Animals Unique WOW DESCRIPTION: This auction is for a beautiful antique SILVERPLATE repoussé dresser box. This is stamped on the bottom with the hallmarks for E.G. WEBSTER& SON. Some info I found online about them- E. G. Webster& Son was out of Brooklyn New York. It traces it's history from 1859 when Elizur G. Webster(1829-1900) started it. The company was known as the Webster Manufacturing Company. It became E. G. Webster& Brother in 1873. When his brother retired in 1886 he in turn took on his son Fred. The son carried on the company until 1928 when it was sold to the International Silver Company in 1928. The company was moved from Brooklyn NY to Meriden CT. Fred continued with the firm but retired sometime in the 1930's and died in 1941. I also note ... morethat there is a“ 25” stamp on the lid near the house- see the photo. However. This is NOT STERLING SILVER, it is plate. So, I believe that this particular piece was originally made in sterling silver and then later made in silverplate as well. This is most unusual in shape and has great charm and appeal. The entire box is decorated with country life scene of pheasants working and the lid shows a fantastic apple picking scene. It measures approximately 4.25” x 2.25 x 1.25” PLEASE SCROLL DOWN& SEE ALL THE PHOTOS! CONDITION: EUC overall and very pretty. The silver-plating has worn off in some areas revealing what appears to be a copper base metal underneath. Also. I beleave the hidge has replacement“pin” It could use a cleaning as there is some white cream residue here and there from the previous owner. I use a hot soapy water and soft brush to clean this“dried up cream residue” off. However, most of my buyers perfer to do this themselves, so I will leave that to the new owner. You are looking at 2 Hans Jansen pieces of silver plate! First is a beautiful vintage small hand mirror that measures 4 1/4" long. That is made in Denmark and is marked(as pictured) The beveled mirror is approximately 2 1/2" across, and the only flaws are the slight fogging of the mirror on the inside, and a minor ding on the mirror bevel. Both sides of the mirror are ornately decorated in the repousse style. And the mirror is very clean and is carry ready The Comb and case are from Denmark and the Comb is 5” in length x 1 ¼” wide. Great condition considering the age very minor scuffs on the comb(slight surface scratching) There are no cracks. No missing teeth, and is not broken. Vintage Silverplate Octagonal Dresser Box/Urn with Swan Lid
Vintage Silver plate Octagonal Dresser Box with Swan Lid: this lovely box is very decorative with a nice swan perched on the octagonal lid and four decorative feet. What is most remarkable about the box is that it is quite heavy. It is fairly large and well made. But has no makers mark or any other mark and it weighs about 4 ½ lbs. The lid fits snug, with the edges of the lid pointing up just a fraction. The octagonal bands are decorated with geometric designs and the feet are nicely decorated with small scallops pointing up. Overall condition is very good. The box is clean and without dents or breaks. Only some very slight play between lid and box prevent me from saying the condition is perfect.
